This is one of my favourite hotels. I haven't written a review for a while now, so I thought I'd write some lines about my two stays this year (June and August). This is a convenient weekend getaway for me. I'm telling myself that I'm travelling to Fosnavåg to photograph birds on Runde, but that has lately become an excuse to get to revisit this hotel. This is still a great hotel; well maintained, great service, comfy beds and quality bedding, effective cleaning staff, ice machine in the hallway etc. I also like that they take the THON membership benefits seriously. I'm a Platinum member and they have always upgraded me by at least one room category, even on very busy weekends. Much appreciated. I mentioned it before, but repeat it so they don't get tempted to remove them: I think it's very nice to have the old minibar fridges, now empty, powered and cold. If I were to nitpick about some negatives, I would say that I would have liked it better if the beds were placed on the other wall, which would allow me to watch the ocean view while in bed. Also, the bread served at breakfast doesn't always seem to be very fresh. This is especially true after a busy weekend (e.g. Tuesday morning). I can understand the economics of this, though; I still remember my 15 months in the marines.
