For our trip to Norway we did a tour of the west side for the fjords and then were headed to the Arendal area to find my wife's roots. This hotel was a perfect mid-point and gave us a chance to hike for a day in the spectacular Hardangervidda. The hotel staff are friendly, the food at breakfast and supper was just fantastic "comfort" food that we loved; Norwegian meatballs one night and sliced roast beef w/ gravy the next; done to perfection. Our room was comfortable and as others have noted, had some years on it, but was clean and well maintained. Suggestion, head to the porch outside the bar and restaurant after supper and watch the sunset over the lake.
