The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant also served us a good dinner and breakfast. The hotel has certainly seen better days. The rooms were clean and simple. Apart from a few nice old buildings, well preserved, not much to do or see in Høyanger unless you’re into sport/mountain climbing.

Nice staff, in a rundown hotel

Stayed here one night because of work and enjoyed it. The room was clean and it had everything that was needed. There is no elevator so you have to take you luggage up the stairs. A nice breakfast with a good selection of different foods. Nothing to complain about.

Nice one night stay for work

Don't bring heavy luggage, no lift and taking suitcases up the narrow stairs is heavy. My room was really cold when I arrived.  I switch on the heat, but on my return 4 hours later the only place that was warm was the bathroom.  And it was +3 outdoor.
Breakfast included, but poor service.  I came when it was 1,5 hours left of breakfast time, and no eggs.  I saw there had been some - but during my long 45 min breakfast nobody came to give us more.  Not even giving us glasses for drinks.
Obviously they were understaffed.  And even with the ladies running, they did not manage to do good service, but they tried. Try another hotel if possible.
Interesting though, old style hotel, but have some bad additional buildings that take away the cosy feeling.
Room was clean, but bathroom had some growing fungi...
Wifi worked well (when I finally got a code that had not been used earlier).
Too expensive the quality taken into consideration

Understaffed

Thank you for the fantastic job, I was surprised with the suites room, food was so good and affordable, all our friends and family said they did a great job. Høyanger is a great place to celebrate a wedding. Plus we enjoyed the first day to last day of our stays. Great memories in Øren Hotel. Over all.. this is perfect place and a perfect churches near by. Ask Leon the manager for help, definitely he will help you. 😊 

Wedding day!

The room isn't cleaned at all ( making a bed isn't a cleening ) the floor was dirty and the windows were shited by the birds. The receptionist - I guess thats the worst part of the story. She wasn't asking about anything beside adding an extra payments to the bill.

I'M NOT RECOMENDING THIS HOTEL AT ALL

Worst hotel ever

Because of on-going business, had to kill a few evening hours and ended up at Øren Hotel in a very silent Høyanger. The lady working there was doing it all, reception, bar, restaurant. She told us because of the industry in Høyanger, most of the visitors to the hotel was between Monday and Thursday. So being Sunday evening, we had the bar to ourselves. The lady was very friendly and helpful and did her best to makes us feel welcome. There was a few other people in the restaurant, and she had "emergency" food for them - and they were happy with the pizza. We stayed in the bar and had full control over the remote to the TV, which suited us well.
