Nevra Apartmenthotel is ideally located next to some great cross country skiing routes and also has a downhill slope at the side of the hotel. The views from the huge lounge, and the rooms facing towards the nearby hamlet of Nordester and towards Lillehammer, are stunning but best of all were the hosts Hans and Claire who made our stay memorable.

The self contained apartments have various layouts. Ours was quirky with a bathroom with older style fittings between the lounge/kitchen and our bedroom, but was clean, in good decorative order, well equipped and comfortable. We were able to cook full meals and ate with travelling companions who had a more spacious adjoining apartment. 

We had a couple of afternoon teas in the comfortable lounge taking in the views and Claire even baked us cakes!

We also made use of the games room and the sauna.

Next door to the hotel is good hire shop combined with a cafe, bakery and small convenience shop. 

Nevra is closing shortly to be converted into private apartments. Anyone who becomes an owner or future renter will enjoy a fantastic location for great holidays in beautiful countryside. Alas, sadly, the great hosts will no longer be there!

Great location, beautiful views and fantastic hosts.

Having read some reviews (where it seems some folk expect 5 star facilities for 2 star prices), we were very pleasantly surprised at how good the Nevra was. We stayed as a party of 4, (2 couples) in late March for 4 nights. Our rooms were spacious and clean with fantastic views over the valley towards Lillehammer. Cross country ski tracks of various degrees of difficulty are right on the doorstep and it is only a few I'm to the downhill runs for alpine skiing. Yes, the Nevra is an Apart-Hotel this there is no restaurant but this is clearly stated by the owners. We cooked all 4 nights and found the kitchens well equipped and perfectly adequate. The owner and his partner Hans and Clare were super friendly and helpful, (Clare even loaned us her car for a trip to the Olympic Museum on the Sunday when taxis were in short supply). All in all a lovely place to stay any time of year, though obviously geared ideally for the winter sports enthusiasts. Highly recommended.

Fabulous location in accommodation far better than expected

This could be a great place to stay, but the rooms are in need of a major renovation, especially for the price per night.  Beware the cleaning and sheets are extra.  Be sure to specify what you have requested and agreed to pay for.  The hotel tried to charge me for four sets of sheets we did not use, just because I asked about the price of renting sheets prior to our stay.  Great cross country trails nearby, but I would look to stay somewhere else until they invest in upgrading this place and include sheets and cleaning in the price.

In need of major room renovation

Let me start with the good things about this hotel and then cover all the bad.

The good; the staff is very delightful and friendly. The lobby is nice and the game room is great. They have bunch of pool, air hockey, table tennis tables and few others. The location is wonderful for cross country skiing and the room was clean.

The bad; the price you pay and what you get is definitely over priced! The rooms has not been renovated since the 70s or the 80s. The bathrooms are miserable with damaged flooring due age and water damage, cracks everywhere and water leaking from the shower. It is your worst nightmare of a hotel bathroom but thank god it was clean.

The furniture, the carpets, and everything else need some serious renovation and a redo! There is no TV or wifi in the rooms (maybe not too bad for few days). Tiny kitchen but have the basics.

The bedrooms are old and the bed are uncomfortable. And yes; bring your sheets, pillow cases and blankets! (So long for packing light). The rooms can get cold!

Expect to clean after your self or pay for cleaning that is NOT covered in the cost (which is not cheap)

Parking is free!

This place could be good if someone invests into renovating and bring this place to the current times instead of the 70s.

One cool fact about this place; it seems like that Bill and Hillary Clinton stayed there in 1994 during the Lillehammer winter Olympic.
