Dalen Gaard camping og hytter 

We were so, so lucky, we found a cabin available here the night before we were due to arrive. The forecast had changed to heavy rain, not ideal for setting up our tent. The cabin was unbelievably good. It was the same price as the hotels we had been staying in but with a kitchen and bathroom. The décor, furnishings and fit out were fabulous, the bed good and plenty of storage. If it had been available for longer, I would have been tempted to forsake our tent all together! As for the camping facilities, the sites were well marked and managed and there were plenty of grassed flat sites, powered and unpowered for tents and vehicles. The facilities were of a high standard and kept very clean despite wet weather. There was a smallish camp kitchen but it had work surfaces, a couple of sinks, microwaves, oven and cooktops and a kettle. There is also a café with indoor and outdoor seating that can be used by campers for their own meals. The setting is remarkable, surrounded by high mountains and virtually no noise except from the nearby waterfall despite the main road running nearby. It’s such a peaceful quiet site compared to tourist central Geiranger with cruise ships, hotels, souvenir shops and crowded streets. The staff were exceptional. Good value for money. Highly recommended.
