Skysstasjonen Cottages

The cottage is a traditional Norwegian style with a moss living roof. There is a bunk bed with a double bed on the bottom in our room. We had two hot pads and counter to prepare food with a  small refrigerator. The lighting was dim, but we were able to use what was available to prepare the meals we needed to. The common bathrooms we underneath the restaurant with a shower available with coin payments. A washroom was also downstairs where we could wash dishes and fill up our water bottles.

Good location in the center with shop and the old church. 
Cheep compare with hotels and apartment. 
Low on utilitys in the cabin. Low lighting and lack of maintenance. 
Could be much better with a bit of effort from the owner. 
All in all a good stay for skiing. 
Skiing facilities is great! 


We stayed in cabins 8-9 which come without toilet or running water, but are located just next to shared facilities. The place is quite peaceful and the cabins were clean. They are spacey enough for three people. The kitchen had enough utensils for simple cooking. Unfortunately, I had difficulties in communicating with staff.

Hint: If you make the booking online, you'll be informed that you have to make international bank transfer to confirm the booking or otherwise they'll cancel it. It turns out that's not true - they were very surprised that I actually paid upfront. As international transfers are expensive - you can probably skip that part.

I would recommend this place for a short stay.

Quiet Cottages

Cabins are simple but OK

Good location

We spent a night as a couple in this camping in a tent. We never have been in worst conditions in our lives. Staff is unhelpful, showers are dirty and you have to pay 10kr for 2m30 of hot water (mine didn't work, water was freezing but didn't give back the money of course ), toilets dirty too. There is a cooking space inside but no table to sit inside only (far) outside, when it rains its great. Only one small sink to do the washing. There is a sauna but it was horribly dirty, door wasn't closable, takes 1h to heat and costs 50kr per person. Needless to say we asked to be reimbursed for it which they did. Internet works fine but is 20kr for the stay. The "restaurant" looked fine though, cosy spot and food smelt really good. However because of the Norwegian prices we didn't eat there so can't review this.

Unacceptable conditions

Book the place through Booking.
By mistake, canceled the reservation. 2 minutes later, sent a request to cancel the cancellation.
Both Booking and Skysstasjonen turned a cold shoulder to us.
So I guess they're going to have a big party with our 576 NK while we were left with a bitter taste.
Way to go Skysstasjonen!

Disappointing Attitude

We stayed in cabin 8, which in addition to the smell of fish that have all the cooking equipations, was very dirty. Pillows and duvets they gave us were yellow (dirty). At the request of clean pillows and duvets, manager brought us a new one, but surprise, it was wet, so we had to put on the radiator to dry it because he didn't want to give us another clean and dry. Of course, the internet connection is paying, and the showers were the most expensive in our holidays. It was our first cabin in Norway and by far the worst. Don't go there.
