Over looks the fiord a with great Norway food. Host generous with trusting attention. All the comforts in an old but fully modernised chalet. Terrific stay

On May 1st 2018 we had brunch for the second time in 48 hours in this mountain lodge. Authentic Norwegian delicacies and a warm welcome is a constant. 
Our favourite dishes were marinated gravlax with herbs, and moose burger.
Rich selection of salads, cold and warm dishes, local flat breads and...cakes!!!!
Special attention was taken to allergies and food intolerances.
We enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and a chat with the locals.

We had a wonderful stay with a great host. You will not be disappointed. Quiet comfortable, super clean refurbished old character ski lodge.

We ended our recent DNT ski trip here. The rooms were comfy with lovely bedding and duvets. The food was superb: fresh local ingredients such as salmon and reindeer were done in Thai style. It made a wonderful combination!

Stayed here over New Year 2015.  This hotel is situated just a few tens of metres from the the lake shore.

The rooms are quite rustic, which adds to the charm of the place, but are adequate as with the stunning scenery surrounding the hotel you won't be in the room that much.  The rest of the hotel is tastefully furnished and relaxing environment to chill out after a hard day's skiing or walking in the surrounding hills.

The restaurant serves both Norwegian and Thai food and during my stay I could not fault any of the food that was served, it was both plentiful and delicious.

However, the biggest attraction of this hotel are the hosts, Stefan, Surina, Sofia and Sarah all of who go out of their way to make you welcome and ensure you have everything you need to have an enjoyable stay.  Making you freel just as if you were a friend staying in their home.

The hotel is equipped with a Sauna and Hot Tub to ease all the aching muscles.

In July 2014 we stayed in a cabin in Övre Svatsum, Gausdal. The only restaurant within an hour drive is Strand Fjellstue, also a hotel. It is run by a Norwegian-Thai couple.  You can choose for Nowegian or Thai food, we chose Thai. One question was asked : how spicy would you like your  food on a scale of 0-15? For most people : DO NOT make the mistake of going for medium (7-8), because 3-4 is already pretty spicy for many western folks ! There is no menu card. We got the following dishes : beef, chicken in homemade curry (not spicy) and moose / elk, a bit spicier, and some spreing rolls. The food, every single dish, was superior, absolutely magnificent !! I told the Norwegian owner that his place would be stuffed with people every night if he was on Oslo. This region is very remote and silent, but somehow thety manage to run the hotel-rest, mainly because of the winter recreation. If you are in the neighborhood, do not skip a night in the restaurant ! Since we did not spend the night in the hotel, we can not say anything about accommodation.

Very cozy room and the kids were very happy about it. Unfortunatly in need for some care with broken lamp and  bathtub stopper missing. Not sure if it was becasue of low season, but breakfast was beuatifully served av the table. The bread was 5 of 5!
