Upon arrival the staff were very welcoming and friendly, this continued throughout our stay. The room was very spacious and clean with amazing views of the fjords. There’s a ferry just opposite if you want to explore other islands which also gives exceptional photo opportunities!

Excellent hotel with a fantastic view. Waking up here was fantastic. Very nice room, the staff are kind and helpfull. Fresh beer on the taps and nice wine available. The food was great, kudos to the kitchen staff!

Well run family owned hotel in an exceptionally beautiful spot. Right next to the fjord and the ferry. 
Very friendly and attentive service. 
The rooms are huge and very comfortable, most have a terrace overlooking the fjord. 
Easy drive in to Aalesund.

We stayed here for two night, and had a fantastic room with a balcony and a view over the fjord. Room was super clean, spacious and with good beds. Balcony was a dream. Staff was so friendly and helpful during our whole stay. Helped us with restaurant booking, suggested hikes and a running route, and just overall we felt very welcome. Breakfast was very good. 

I booked this hotel with my adult children and we were very pleased with our stay.  We were warmly greeted by management who made us feel like we had just come home!  Our room was spacious and did not feel like a hotel room as each room appears to be uniquely appointed and bright.  We had a nice "common" and spacious deck off of our room, yet it allowed for private conversations while observing the adjacent marina.  Parking was plentiful and the car ferry is adjacent to the property, but it did not interfere with our stay due to noise.  The breakfast was smaller and basic compared to large hotel chains but it certainly was adequate.  Had it not been raining, we would have enjoyed the deck area a bit more to unwind from our day.  Thanks for a nice visit!

Our bright room had two sliding doors that opened to a deck with views of the fjord and a cool Atlantic breeze. It was a relaxing home base for our exploration of villages north and the Atlantic Road. The owner is a wonderfully friendly person who made sure our needs we're meet and breakfast was great. If we are fortunate enough to return we would stay here again.

Traveling around the Norway with husband, we stayed in Sunde Fjord Hotel to visit Aalesund. Truly enjoyed it from first moment being welcomed by Lady who is owning hotel with her husband. She explained clearly all options we have in the hotel, provided us with clear directions on where we could have a dinner. Entering the room we were pleased by size and lightness of the room. Classy comfy room was complemented by terrace with the view to fjord and yachting harbor. In room you will have everything needed for short trip and if you will need something else, I'm sure you will be provided gladly. Despite the weather we were not lucky to face, we enjoyed our visit to this area, and mostly thanks to the hotel. You can feel family touch around: breakfasts are served by owners, hallways decorated by paintings of Inga (owner of the hotel), everyone approachable and caring. Later in conversation I found out that hotel was purchased about 22 years ago and was rebuilt floor by floor by this lovely couple. If you would like to have calm and peaceful stay with 'small Norwegian village' spirit, choose this hotel, highly recommended! 

Sunde Fjord Hotel is a charming local hotel, though a bit isolated. It is situated right next to a car ferry, which provides a picturesque setting but also means it’s not close to restaurants or grocery stores. Guests should be prepared for a bit of a journey to find dining options or shops.
One notable feature is the open balcony. While this offers great views, it also means that other guests might walk past your room, which could be a privacy concern for some.
The bed was extremely comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep. Breakfast was good but fairly standard, providing a decent start to the day without anything extraordinary.
The hotel also offers shuffleboard and billiards, although we didn’t have time to use these amenities.
If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat and don’t mind the isolation, Sunde Fjord Hotel could be a great choice.

Yes, this is an older hotel but the room was very big and had a nice view of the fjord. It was a bit odd that the balcony was shared with all the other hotel rooms, so we really couldn’t have the door open. The staff was very friendly and helpful. 

Though the buffet deal was good, we opted to get a pizza from the take away at the ferry which was very good!

Stayed here the night of our arrival in Norway.  It’s an older hotel and shows it’s age - although our bathroom was fully modernized.  The restaurant/bar downstairs was welcoming and seems to be busy with both travelers and locals alike.  Food was good.  To here I’d a game room as well - we played table shuffleboard and watched some soccer on TV.   The morning breakfast was a good introduction to Scandinavian food for me.  Next to the ferry dock - great views nearby.

A Quiet Getaway by the Fjord

Nice place for a bite and an overnight.

Check in was quick and easy.  The staff were pleasant and were helpful with figuring out the ferry schedule next door. 

The room was decent sized. It had a shared balcony with chairs and table.  It had a nice view of the harbor.  

The room was clean and well furnished.  

There was a couch and a medium sized TV, but only a few channels were in English.

There was no AC, but one could open the sliding door for ventilation.  

The bed was comfortable.  

The bathroom was clean. 

There were enough outlets for charging.

Breakfast was OK - eggs, cheese, bacon, croissants, etc.

The restaurant was OK.   A very limited menu for dinner.  The food was good, 

it is maybe a 15 minute drive to town.

Simply a wonderful stay 

Spacious, Clean and Quiet!

We were travelling around South and Middle Norway with my wife. We often chose hotels outside the cities to make it easier to park our car. The Sunde Fjord Hotel had a spacious parking place and a short trip to Ålesund. The hotel was beautifully located by the fjord and the rooms had incredibly beautiful views of the fjord. Our room was nicely decorated, spacious and really neat. The only drawback was a bed where there was no good sleep. Likewise, the hotel breakfast should have been more varied. However, the hotel's old owner couple was really friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who are traveling with your own car.

Cozy and welcoming 

The place was very nice. A very friendly and talkative lady owner at the reception. The room was meticulously clean and very spacious, with a nice view.  The breakfast was ok, but rated on a lower scale relative to many other places at which we stayed in Norway.  

It is a fairly long drive to Alesund and good places to eat, so I think it makes sense to stay there only if you are taking a ferry ride the next morning.
