I stayed here for 4 nights as part of a business trip, though this certainly isn’t a business hotel. The bar is behind reception and the restaurant is more canteen. But that’s not a problem if that’s all you expect. Check in was fast and easy and was soon in the room which is basically a small apartment with cooking facilities and small lounge area. The beds are long and thin and a bit awkward if you’re used to a double bed. The shower was also good. This is definitely more hostel than hotel but it’s clean and was a good place to sleep after a days work. It’s also infinitely better than the other hotel in Sunndalsøra. With limited options in the area, this is certainly the best.

More hostel than hotel. Gorgeous surroundings.

The "room" was a small apartment with a small bedroom and a separate family room. The living room had a desk, sofa and a chair. This was superbly good! A small fridge was available in the room as well as a small sink, a small kettle and two plates (no saucepan to the plates).

The toilet / bathroom was worse or bad. The shower water streamed all over the floor and "Free toiletries" here means a container with a hose that had to be squeezed before any kind of soap came out. Nothing else in the "Free toiletries". This was a miss on an otherwise good accommodation!
Much for breakfast, but not well kocked and not looked after at all.
Everyone was awakened by dog drivers (with dogs) who had to leave at 05 in the morning. They woke everyone up before they finally left.

Very good "room" but poor shower

Hotel / camping huts / camping and caravan site.  Offering youth hostel accommodation which is what I stayed in.  I booked a private room with breakfast included.  I got a small apartment in one of the camping huts (hytte).  It was modern and clean.  Living room with sofa, very comfy armchair and TV.  Dining area and very small kitchen area (with fridge and microwave).  Separate bedroom with bed linen included.  Private bathroom.  Breakfast was very good.  Located up a small hill (actually the terminal moraine of a glacier) 3km from town center - about 35-40 min walk (if you know the back way).  Good view across the town and fjord from the edge of the site.

Vandrerhjem / Youth Hostel - nice location, good stay.

My wife and I were traveling through Norway on a motorcycle and booked this place as I liked the scenery in the pictures and just wanted a place to rest our heads.  We pulled in to the place (finding it not hard but the long driveway up is located between two houses) above the town and immediately loved the view.  The outside was nothing to speak about and we were given our room key.  Once ip to the room we found it clean and everything we could have wanted.  The room had a shower, stve, refrigerator, stove and a small sitting area which had a couch.  The wifi was super and it was very quiet.  We walked down to the restaurant on the grounds only to find it had closed 1/2 hour earlier but no matter the chef still prepared a nice dinner for us.  I would go back again and just really liked the place.  True it is camping is located next door but everything was quiet and picturesque. 

Unexpected find

We stayed here out of necessity since we had decided to drive the Aursjøvegen panoramic road which ends in Sunndalsøra.
The hotel is in a camp site and offers very basic facilities. The furnishing in the rooms was old and very worn.
Fine for a night but would not recommend it!
