Tromsø Lodge & Camping 

From the moment we booked until our departure, everything was wonderful. The location is perfect for getting away from the main town of Tromsø and the crowds of tourism, while still feeling comfortable and well cared for. We booked a Deluxe Cabin with a river view and couldn’t have asked for more. The view was absolutely fantastic, with the aurora dancing above our heads on most nights and no light pollution to spoil the experience. What we loved most was the peaceful location, the friendly and helpful staff, the excellent breakfast, the well-stocked mini shop, and the cabin itself—spotlessly clean, warm, and beautifully maintained. The facilities were great, and the overall atmosphere was calm, cozy, and relaxing. During our last two days, my husband became unwell, and the staff were incredibly accommodating and supportive. I am very grateful for their kindness, as it made our stay far less stressful. His illness was in no way related to the lodge or our accommodation. A few small things we felt could be improved: a mat by the door leading in from the decking would be helpful to reduce the risk of slipping in snowy conditions, and some kind of boot brush near the main door would be useful for brushing off excess snow before coming inside. A few additional utensils suitable for use with the microwave would also be appreciated. The beds are small single beds, although we understand space is limited in the bedrooms. A small side table or shelf beside the bed would be very helpful for placing items such as glasses or other valuables, as otherwise they need to be placed on the floor. I was especially concerned about damaging my glasses, which I rely on. We were also led to believe the bus stop was closer. For anyone with mobility or walking impairments, taxis would likely be necessary. I have a spinal condition and found the walk to the bus stop too far and quite challenging due to the steep road and snow-covered pathway, which meant walking on the road at times. However, these are only minor observations and did not detract from what was otherwise a truly memorable stay that we would happily recommend.
