This place is literally wonderful. The resort is completely peaceful, natural, beautiful, and just fabulous. The south beach is the most stunning beach we have ever been on: flat warm sea, white sand, shady palms and jungle, and best of all, empty. Views from all over the peninsula (but feels like an island as only boat access) are fantastic. You can see for miles. On top of all this, the food was the best we have had in Panama, with real bread to die for. Every meal is carefully planned and executed. All the staff team were lovely, kind, patient, and skilled, and Frank is the most wonderful host. How he built this oasis from jungle is beyond us. Cabañas were huge and quiet, beds super comfy, and fans if needed. We absolutely loved being here and if we can ever return, we absolutely will. This was the best part of a 3 week stay all over Panama. Go if you can.

Paradise!

No cars or dogs barking.  On an isolated peninsula with only sea access.  There are several beaches and a variety of trails.
  WIFI is available at the office next to the restaurant.
  The food was very good.

Nature lovers paradise

Can't say enough good things about PBR and owner Frank. The carefully kept grounds surrounded by untouched jungle are gorgeous.  The beaches are pristine and safe. The cabins, while basic, are comfortable, clean, private. The meals, prepared to order if you have any dietary restrictions, are fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. My wife and I were there for a special birthday and we were treated like family. We are already planning our next visit! I'm sure Frank has many more stories to share.

A Delightful Tropical Getaway

Fabulous eco friendly retreat. Wildlife, trails, hidden coves with ancient shells and rocks, far away from the madding ( and maddening!) crowd. I loved it. It's not a 5 star place but it's the real deal and Frank the owner, is a charismatic and colorful guy full of warmth and hospitality. LOVED it and will go back every time we can.

Authentic Island experience

BEST. DAY. EVER!!!  Wow, what an amazing stay at Pacific Bay Resort.  The short 20 minute boat ride from Boca Chica was a fun way to begin our adventure.  Frank, the congenial owner, personally met us at the beach and whisked us to our private cabin overlooking the ocean.   Our room and bath were spotlessly clean.  Mattresses were very comfortable with crisp sheets and good pillows.  No air conditioning but we were comfortable with the fan.  We spent our first afternoon swimming in the crystal clear waters of South Beach which we had all to ourselves.  We went to sleep listening to the howler monkeys.  Lots of parrots and other tropical birds to see from our private terrace.  It was paradise.  We took all our meals at the open air restaurant.  Food was plentiful and excellent.  My husband is a picky eater.  Frank went above and beyond to accommodate his food preferences.  From beginning to end, we enjoyed Frank and the great ambiance he has created.  I have a new favorite place!

Best. Day. Ever.

Frank is a charmer. Super nice guy. We had the pleasure of being the only guests at the Pacific Bay Resort during the New Year Covid Lockdown. There were two of us and three of them. We had a wonderful time. South Beach on the island is wonderful. Usually saw white face monkeys in the mornings. Plenty of howler monkeys and lots of cool birds. 
The rooms are basic without A/C. Not to bad when the fan is on. We spent a lot of time at the restaurant as the view is better and they have a fridge there with beer. Everyday Frank cooked for us. Every meal was really great and he also brought in the wines that we asked him to get. Absolutely enjoyed our stay.
Bring your walking shoes and swimsuit and enjoy Pacific Bay Resort for what it is.

Panama Lockdown

Frank opens the resort 2 weeks out of every month. The other 2 weeks, the wildlife gets a break. There are limited amount of guests at a time. It is a very hilly area. The resort is solar only. If you want off of the grid, this is the place for you. If you want commercial, go to Bambuda Lodge on the Caribbean side, please!

Great place for active people

This hotel is less resort , more pacific bay.
Very peaceful. Beautiful views.
Great, unique location, short boat ride from Boca Chica.
Peaceful peninsula , with howler monkeys, Anteaters, lots of different birds, etc. We have seen them all. Rooms are basic. Food as well. Quantity is bit too limited. The beach is astonishing . Big, and empty, with amazing views. Great canoeing.
The host is in charge of each & every detail. Frank is the epic center of the property . Entertaining and great host. 
He keeps the hotel and island ‘green’. 
Only irrigator are the mosquitos should during diner. Unbearable. Install ceiling fans!

Truly “Unique” and eco friendly

Visit to Paradise.  I have never been to someplace so rurel and beautiful.  Make sure you have a good walking shoes anticipating that you will be climbing up and over some pretty dramatic hills for meals and the fabulous South Beach. The food is delicious fresh and wonderfully prepared. But do not feel that you’re going to get large portions, or snacks so packing Some extra would be a good idea.  This is an off the grid vacation.  I could not believe I got to share this with my friends and no one else first day it was a remarkable place to experience.  It is not for the faint of heart or anyone with any mobility issues.

Visit to Paradise

A short water taxi ride from Boca Chica, Pacific Bay Resort is an absolutely beautiful and relaxing place to stay. We spent 4 nights there but would have been happy to stay longer than that! We were booked in the Chiriqui Cabana which overlooks the North Beach and were woken one morning by a group of at least 40 howlers (and some babies) passing right by. It's a steep walk up to the restaurant which we didn't mind but the owner, Frank, was more than happy to drive people who weren't up for the walks around the property in his golf cart. The three meals included each day were delicious and Frank paid attention to everyone's tastes. Elbia, Anna, and Karina who helped with cooking and serving were so friendly and helpful. Since we were lucky enough to be the only guests half of the time we were there and wanted to spend a couple of our days at the absolutely beautiful South Beach which we had all to ourselves (besides some capuchin monkeys), Frank delivered us lunches so we didn't have to walk back to the restaurant. Beach chairs are provided and we also kayaked each day. Frank is an extremely hospitable and entertaining host and it's obvious how much work and care has gone into this one of a kind property. Highly recommended!!
