My husband and I reserved this apartment for 6 nights and were extremely disappointed. The pictures that were posted must've been taken a long time ago because this place looks run down.

You are only paying for the location and waterfront views. There's an A/C on the bedroom, but not the rest of the unit. With the tropical heat the wooden walls make the place very hot, and the ceiling fan doesn't do much. There's a leather couch which you can't sit on during the heat. The balcony area is the only area where you can feel the breeze.

The dining room table and chairs were patio furniture with several tears and rusted. There were several nails coming out from the bedroom door. Looked like a wooden piece fell off and was not replaced. But the worst part of all was the bed!! Hard and uncomfortable and the pillows were extremely thin. We woke up with back and neck pain.

Because it's a wooden building you're going to hear every single thing that the upstairs guest is doing. Also, The house next door stored 2 boats next to our room. All night long you'll hear the boats banging on the dock and walls with the higher tide.

The property has a single kayak for use.

We were not able to sleep comfortably so on our 3rd day, we decided to book a hotel for the reminder of our trip. THE BEST DECISION!!!! We got the same views and location for a fraction of the price. Our hotel provided us with water, free bicycles, kayaks, paddle boards, and snorkeling gear. You can get a nice hotel in town for less than $80. We do not recommend this place!!!!

Overpriced, not worth it!

My partner and spent 4 nights at M&M residencias and had a wonderful time. The apartment is spacious with all the amenities like air conditioning in the large bedroom and a kitchen with refrigerator and stove for cooking at home. There’s a tv if you get bored but we found we never used it. Just sitting in the open living room listening to the rain was enough for us. The internet is good here as well. The only downfall at the time of this posting was a bar that opened up across the street playing loud music into the night but the owner was in the process of trying to quiet things down so this may have changed. You can swim right off the front deck, and there’s a swimming ladder back onto the porch. Close to town and all the restaurants so no need to taxi anywhere. We ended up just walking to and from the airport although it was quite hot weather so be aware if your not used to the heat and grab a taxi. All in all a good trip and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Beautiful apartment on Bocas del Toro

I stayed at this beautiful hotel over the water and it was absolute heaven. Starting with meeting Aiyesha who was so welcoming, friendly and helpful right to the amazing room I had. It was clean, bright, had every amenity one could want including a kitchen, hot water, A/C, remote controlled fan, free wi-fi, ladder to get in and out of the water right from your balcony etc.. Everything was super clean and the bed was one of the best I've slept on. I really can't say enough about how this hotel and staff impressed me. I'm heading back to Panama (from Costa Rica) again in early April and I will definitely be staying here again. Thank you so much M & M!!

Most Amazing Place EVER!

Wifi usually didn't work or was so slow you couldn't even check email. He told us that is how the wifi is on the island but that is not the case. Everywhere else we went the wifi was great. The listing said this was in a quiet part of town. This was one of the noisiest places I have stayed here. The owner was doing construction on his own place so there was a lot of noise from saws and hammering on many days which prevented us from enjoying the deck area as much as we would have liked to. Plus the next door neighbors had music blaring till late in the evening as well as early in the morning and a place across the street (looks like it is being turned into a bar) was blaring music and other loud noise. The place was not as equipped with stuff like the ad says. Kitchen needs some oven pans among other things, it didn't even have a measuring cup. There wasn't even a broom so we had to go out and buy one. The kitchen sink didn't even have a plug for washing dishes. The ad specified that there is laundry on site. There is machines on site but you don't get to use them. You have to pay someone to wash your clothes or haul your clothes to a laundromat a few blocks away. The lighting was very bad. Even with the lights on it was very dark in each room, especially the bathroom. The bed makes a loud creaking noise when you climb out so whenever one of us got up during the night it woke the other person up too. There is a fan in the living room and bedroom but not one in the kitchen which makes it very warm in the kitchen for cooking over the stove. When there was people staying in the apartment above us, when the washed their dishes water started pouring into our apartment. The leak was fixed by having the water instead go outside running down the shade above our window and into the ocean. Was not pleasant seeing and hearing that. There is no insulation of any sort in this building so you hear all the noise from the upstairs neighbors (including every footstep they make) and from outside. Makes it very difficult for getting a decent sleep at night. When we were able to relax on the deck area (due to no construction going on) we enjoyed watching the boats go by and using the diving board. After seeing the neighbor come home, get out of his boat and have a pee in the water right there where we had been swimming, we no longer swam in the water there. One day they even had company over and their company would just pee in the water too. There are much better places to stay in Bocas.

Not Worth It

We stayed in the studio unit which sits over the water and has beautiful ocean and mountain views from the small outside sitting area. It was lovely. A small kitchenette provided everything we needed to make breakfast and lunch and we cooked dinner several nights as well. The view was so nice why go anywhere else. The town is a block away any and everything you need is close by. 
We enjoyed the stormy nights as we where there as Hurricane Otto blew by!

Water, water everywhere!

I stayed at M&M for about three weeks in June and I can tell you 100% this is the best place to stay at. Ericka, the woman who is in charge of day-to-day operations was of great help. Whenever I asked for an extra appliance or utensil she always accommodated me so quick. Kitchen is well equipped and if you want to cook you should be fine. Although I would recommend buying vegetables and fruits on certain days (should find them in a local newspaper) when they get delivered to Bocas from other areas. On other days choices are limited. M&M isn't far from town as some people say. it's literally 4 minute walk from "downtown" and a minute from the best supermarket in town. Ask Ericka. Also, what I loved about the location is that it is quite, yes there are boats passing by but they stop at night. If you were to stay closer to Selena's you would have young people partying all night long... Your call. Bring earplugs if you are sensitive. Hands down this is the best place in town. And oh did I mention you can jump right into the water from the balcony of the studio or one bedroom on the first floor! Great place, thanks Michele and Ericka!

THE BEST PLACE IN BOCAS

I stayed at M&M Resicencias for a week during Easter (Peak season) and found the staff to be very friendly, helpful and welcoming.  
Located in the heart of Bocas town i felt very safe and secure in my apartment which felt like home. There is the wonderful Bocas Super Gourmet market across the road for all your needs and is located within a casual stroll to the Marina for all the taxi's to other islands and restaurants at your finger tips. 
The Property is lovely, wooden in build - as is the tradition in Bocas, however architecturally the building is more modern in style. It felt like home, i could come and go as i pleased, cook in my little kitchen and watch the sun set on my balcony. IF peace, quiet and solitude is what you are after, do not book this property. There is always something happening, music playing, kids playing, fiesta's in the neighborhood, however for me this adds to the charm. If i wanted peace i would have booked accommodation in Playa Bluff ! I loved hearing the water taxis start up for the days work, the men talking as they went past, going to work, going to school, seeing little bocas town come to life... at the end of the day i would see them all return home and we would wave!
Michel the owner was in residence when i was there and he was super friendly, kind and helpful...  I loved this place as you see i don't have a bad experience to report and i wouldn't hesitate to return or to stay again or to recommend to my friends, in fact i'm planning my return. 10/10
