Lovely weeks break at this villa with villa plus. Really restful holiday and the pool is a lovely size. Villa plus team really helpful with information and we also had transfers with them for the airport which worked perfectly.

Room 202 is sub-standard. Not a single chair to sit on.
Need to sit on the bed to watch TV.
Won't recommend.
Breakfast included was OK. 4 choices of breakfast. Nothing to write home about.
Personnel was courteous.

Weekend visit

Cosy hotel with a good pool and a great menu. Not too big and perfect for a small getaway.  Could be a bit cleaner and with a few more amenities (like glasses in the room) but overall a nice place where we got great service. It's super close to the beach but the pool is to be preferred since the ocean/beach is flooded with plastic :( It's nice to go there and watch the kite surfers though, and there's a kite surfing school next door to the hotel. 

Nice getaway

Pros: very nice clean pool Cons: there is no maid service, no new towels, no cleaning. Our party rented 5 rooms they all very extremely dirty, nobody ever dusted them.  No hot water, it gets almost warm though. It takes forever to get the food from the restaurant. Once we ordered 4 coffees, they brought 3 and 2 of them were in DIRTY cups! Something isn't right in this place workers seam to be very depressed.

Great pool, poor service, dirty rooms, lukewarm shower

Not exactly a beach bar because it’s a hotel, but we were looking for a beach bar and this fit the bill. It’s at the end of the peninsula and a wonderful destination with a beach atmosphere. Friendly staff and a pool with bar stools in the pool. Not a high end place, but what you’re looking for at the beach. Wish I had taken pictures so you could see how cool this place is. 

Great beach bar at a beach hotel

At first, I thought I would write a rave review for this property.  I enjoyed my room, I enjoyed the quiet. It's close to the beach, etc.

However, I spent another week in Panama after staying here, and when asking around with other people who work in tourism, I began to hear that there is something shady about the workers at the hotel.  They are not Panamanian, are underpaid, and from the many stories I heard, it seems that it's pretty much human trafficking - if the amount of money you make every month doesn't cover the costs of the mandatory room and board expenses.

The staff was LOVELY, good people, but I did not meet the owner.  If you are socially conscious, and want to stay here, I would ask even more questions.

Enjoyed my stay, but there's something shady going on

Short:
Small "boutique" type of hotel but at a much nicer price. Considering price and location, the place is decent. There are some smaller question marks, but at the price they do well. Even the restaurant is OK but music is high and awful. Very close to excellent kite surfing.

More details:
Rooms are basic but do the job well: AC, well kept bathroom, TV, Wi-Fi (slow), OK beds. The small scale of the place is nice and the pool area is very cool. Full service restaurant with OK menu. Some smaller question marks: They only speak Spanish so there could be some misunderstandings in English; The included breakfast menu is a bit narrow and small. It gets repetitive and just not enough food; They have music cranked up at a rather high volume covering all the pool and restaurant area. This is very very very annoying since you barely can have a normal conversation much less relax. And they only have one CD it seems, and its with utter bad taste. Unbearable. You get the feeling they don't really focus on nice customer experience but rather following instructions to the point and above all focus on keeping all costs down. Just getting some butter feels like you have to beg for it and you should be really grateful to get anything that is not the absolute bare minimum. It is the wrong approach to running a vacation hotel.

Besides this, the place is really nice and I would go there again. And it is absolutely the best place if you want to kite surf. It is just a few steps away from a super spot where Machete Kites offer sessions and rental. Much better location than Nitro City.
