The perfect place for nature lovers! The view is stunning, the whole place is  tastefully built and decorated, the staff was very friendly and willing to help with whatever we needed. The food was always freshly prepared and very tasty. We were able to do a tour through the beautiful forest with an excellent guide and saw different kinds of monkeys and birds. There's also plenty of wildlife around the house. If we'll ever come back to Panama, we will certainly visit Mount Totumas again!

Wonderful Place

A wonderful experience from first contact through follow up. I could not speak in nicer terms than my experience looking for birds and mammals at this lovely Lodge in a Gorgeous location. The level of food and Accommodation surpassed my expectation, fantastic bedding, linens and pillows.  First rate guides and management made this a dreamy experience. Strong recommendation

Fantastic experience in the wilderness of Panama

We had a wonderful 4 night stay in Mt. Totumas. The whole experience- from the spacious and well equipped room with view over the mountains, the amazing food prepared 3 times daily and the hospitality shown by Jeffrey and the staff. But of course the main attraction is being immersed in cloud forest and using the well marked tracks around the area. Highly recommended!

Cloud forest extraordinaire

Definitely the highlight of our trip to Panama. What they have achieved here is remarkably and it was a privilege to be able to stay here. We stayed 4 nights but could have stayed longer. The food, the rooms and the staff were great. One of the best part for us was the multitude of varying trails that have been created through the surrounding area which you can do with or without a guide. The natural hot spring pool was a gem with the adjacent river for a cold dip. Highly recommend Mount Totumas.

Delicious food and beautiful view. We stayed 5 nights in the bungalow Bambito.
Lovely place at the feet of amazing trails !
Many monkeys and birds (if you are lucky you can even see quetzals and big cats) !

Wonderful place, great stay ! 

We had the most incredible honeymoon, spending five unforgettable nights at the Treehouse of Mount Totumas. We made many lasting memories.

The staff here is absolutely wonderful, going above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The food is absolutely incredible! We ate all our meals at the restaurant, and trust me, not a single morsel was left behind. The flavors were incredible.

The lodge itself was a great place to unwind. They had a nice collection of books and games, and the atmosphere was so relaxing. It's a paradise for birdwatchers too, with all sorts of colorful birds to spot.

One of the highlights was the hiking. There are nine different trails to explore, and we managed to see all but one. Each trail was unique, and we were blown away by the beauty of the cloud forest. But if there's one trail you shouldn't miss, it's the Big Tree Loop. It was truly something special.

We are already looking forward to going back!

The best highland experience in Panama

This is a great place to see birds. The rooms are so comfortable. The owners couldn't have been kinder and are so passionate about improving the environment. The food was also healthy and very tasty. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Fantastic place for birdwatching

We are not birders but stayed here for 3 nights on a 3 week trip of Panama. I really wish it had been 4 nights. This is such a beautiful place; the views are absolutely stunning, the birds you will see and the people really make it. With 3 nights you will have 2 full days, I think 3 full days would be better to explore the different trails, watch some glorious wildlife and perhaps take advantage of 1 or 2 guided visits or take the coffee tour. 

The lodgings are simple but have everything you need, the food delicious and the hummingbirds so beautiful. We saw quetzal, bellbirds and many more as well as some monkeys, squirrels, lizards etc. 

Also the coffee is delicious and owners are highly Eco conscious. Such a stunning, beautiful location full of beauty and tranquility. 

Paradise

At the Mount Totumas lodge you feel the passion for nature in everything. The owner is tryely passionate about the cloud forest and shares his enthusiasm in a catching way. They have their own guide, Reynaldo, and he is the best!! He is super friendly and patient and sees, hears and knows all the birds.  Walking with him is so rewarding, even if you are no die hard birder.  The food in the restaurant is fresh, tasty and healthy.  The lodge is a bit noisy, but nothing good eat plus can't solve.  Visit this wonderful place if you can, you will not regret it!!

Birding in the cloud forest

Felt very lucky to stay at this hotel - even if it was only for two nights. Could easily have stayed for longer. The owners make you feel like family and the setting is just fabulous. Getting there by 4WD is part of the experience and although the rooms are relatively basic that is quite in keeping with the wonderful setting. The food is fabulous but at the end of the day it was the owners and the rest of the staff who make this place as special as it is.
