We loved the Madang Lodge Hotel! We stayed in one of their apartments overlooking the swimming pool with a view of the Pacific Ocean. Our most memorable things are: swimming pool, air-conditioning (with backup generator for power blackouts), friendly staff (especially Martha & Daniel), comfortable rooms, good food, good security, beautiful gardens (staff with excellent attention to detail) and an on-site artist/ sculptor who will do a custom carving for you!!!! We will definitely stay there next time we're in Madang!

Madang Lodge hotel is one of the most family friendly hotel in Madang. Situated at the seaside the view is stunning! Staff are friendly and the price is quite reasonable. I will choose this hotel should I next visit Madang.

Family Friendly hotel

Our family loves the Madang Lodge Hotel. We have stayed in their Finisterre Apartments several times in the last two years. What we love most: The excellent service and friendliness of the staff; the swimming pool; air-conditioning; comfortable rooms; good food at the coffee shop and restaurant; back-up generator that ensures constant power; and the security. And of course, the beautiful gardens and great views.

The Lodge is our preference when it comes to Madang and we look forward to our next trip there.

Great views, Excellent Service, Comfortable Rooms

My family (two adults, 3 kids) loved staying in the apartment overlooking the ocean.  The beautiful pool was maybe 20 meters away, but safely fenced in.  Everything was incredibly clean.  We were there during the COVID-19 lockdown, so there were few other guests, but the atmosphere was quiet, calm and safe.  It was cheaper than other locations in Madang, but I think it was just as nice as the Resort.  Besides, having a kitchen and living room was a huge benefit for us which we didn't find anywhere else.  Two restaurants on location--both had good food and friendly service.  The only disadvantage is that it's a few kilometers from most other things in town, so you'll need to bring a vehicle or use the hotel shuttle.

Great apartments for family.

Awesome place to spend a weekend out with your girlfriend or boyfriend just like i did with my girlfriend.  
Enjoyed my short stay there. It's quite beautiful I'd prefer Madang lodge would be the best if you'd like to choose from the hotels in madang.

Holiday tour

The Madang Lodge is one of those hotels not found very often in PNG, small, comfortable, friendly and relatively cheap. It is located on the foreshore about a kilometre south of the town. It has units for couples and families, and apartments for larger groups. The smaller units have A/C, ensuite, small fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. The TV in our unit was a little old an difficult to use but the slightly more expensive units have flat screens.There is free wifi but it is erratic and patchy (as was the hotel phone). Nice restaurant and bar with good food reasonably priced.Also balcony dining with views over to the Finisterre ranges (3000m).They will cook fish you catch or buy from the local fish markets. Friendly, helpful staff with the girls mostly from Milne bay (apinun Shirley 😊). Friendly australian owner/manager Diane, who knows everyone and everything. Nice pool with shade and sea views.Beautiful landscaped gardens. 24 hour security. Hotel bus will take you around if free. 

Small Friendly Hotel

Nice place for a quick layover with the Budget rooms. Otherwise, an excellent place for a few days getaway. Restaurant takes a tad bit too long to serve. Other amenities are in good condition. The sea view is exquisite.

Nice place

Madang Lodge is a beautiful place to stay right in town with experience of a gardens of various flower. With beautiful garden Terrance and a spectacular view of the ocean from the restaurant. Ocean breeze beating against your body from the restaurant balcony. food are delicious and friendly staff and service of worlds standard. Have been to Madang Lodge 7 times in four years and is my preferred place of stap.

Preferred place of stay in Beautiful Madang.

Excellent hotel in Madang as well as wonderful feeling of being really looked after by absolutely wonderful owners and employees. 
The lodge has different rooms/appartements for every budget but all have access the the facilities (gym swimming pool, restaurant...) and they are very clean, in good conditions. The communal areas for budget rooms are also really cleaned and practical. The food in the restaurant is good, and you have different menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the employees are really friendly and helpful. Also, the drivers of the lodge will be very happy to take you at the market or elsewhere in Madang. I really recommand the lodge to anyone, solo travellers or families.
