We bookended our 1 night Colca Canyon trek with a stay here. Both rooms were comfortable and clean and relatively spacious. WiFi worked best in the courtyard. Good breakfasts. Very friendly staff, who were happy to let us in and out at ridiculous times of night because of our transfers. Loo roll provided; soap in bedroom.

Good base camp for Colca Canyon

Unreliable WiFi truly ruined the stay here because I could not access email or research tours for Colca. However this is claimed to be temporary only due to the internet provider doing upgrade work. My room was clean and comfortable but only one of the shared bathrooms had hot showers. I'm not a fan of toilet and shower in the same space when having to share them. Towel and soap provided and a laundry service for 5 soles per kilo is offered or you could visit nearby laundries that charge 3. Breakfast is not included which suited me fine as it was only bread and jam. There are desayuno specials for 5 or 6 soles if you want to go local. Central location on the edge of San Lorenzo barrio so visiting Plaza de Armas and Juanita museum one way or Yanahuara mirador the other are easy walks. The staff are friendly, helpful and will mind your luggage after you check out. You can return for a shower too but it costs 20 soles (towel and soap provided).

Temporary WiFi problem

We stayed here for three days in march 2018. The place was very clean and staff really friendly and helpful. There was someone 24/7 to help you. Owners spoke fluent english, spanish and german. There is loundry service, good wifi, hot shower with good pressure and breakfast available. We got really good restaurant and sighseeing tips from staff. Place has two nice patios for relaxing. Hostel is located walking distance from Monastery Santa Catalina, Plaza de Armas, shopping street and Mercado san Camila. If i'd go to Arequipa again I'd stay here again. Strong recommadation. Very good value for your money!

Lovely stay

Our room was kind of cute but quite stuffy as it had no window. There was very little guests for our stay and at the end we got a view of the other rooms and now feel we had the worst one even though it was empty.  The bed sheets appeared clean but we had a purple top duvet/cover which was disgusting. It had numerous stains on it which could have been anything. Our shared shower room was okay and most of the time was clean. The shower itself was hot once for us over 4 days and was cold the other times. Wifi poor to average. We booked through booking.com and we booked for a total price and on arrival got told it was more because of a service charge. It does say this on booking.com but we missed it so we also felt that was a bit cheeky as we haven't had that at any other hotels or hostels.  
On a brighter note, it was peaceful and quiet and the cleaner was lovely! They offered a laundry service which was quite pricey but our clothes were ironed and smelt very nice after! 

We didn’t really enjoy our stay. Arequipa is awesome though

My wife and I stayed the room with a toliet for one night and the room was clean. It charged usd 40. 

One thing is to bother me. Always thr gate is locked and staffs open if guests push a bell. They are not at reception desk always so if they go out or do something else.

We should go to the pick up place for a tour but can't check out until a staff came back from doing grocery. 

It was bad timing for us but i think it is inconvenient for guests.

Just okay

Nice rooms shower on the lower levels sucs! Its cold other wise nice for. But I left and gave them the key because they say to when you leave and they checked me out of the room I came back the next morning after a club and they had cleaned thje room and refused me the key and took my stuff out threw some out I guess the rest they put in lost and found and were making a fuss like I was in the wrong had to wait an hour till the English speaking person came and semi cleared it up you should have given me a free night for throwing my things out and thinking I was with a hooker and not my girlfriend not a good experience then I rebooked and they gave me a better room with an actual hot shower the rooms don't suck just the communication and the hey we ruined your stay but here is 1 extra hour yeah thanks not if you don't speak spanish not a great stay because the staff beside the one girl are rude and they check you out 20hours early and give you a room with a cold shower when they advertise hot water 24/7! So I got 2hours in a cold shower room and 2 in a hot shower room was not happy but they are still better then 306a Casona de Jerusalen they are crooks the police should shut them down they make Peru look bad lies and stuff like that. Stay at the one that has the soul café in front that place is nice and as advertised cost 20usd a night but worth it for the less hassle!

Make sure you check the water when they show you the room and the tv and that they know your coming back ... Hello I left my things that's not a clue gringo haters!

Misunderstanding and they checked me out 20hours early ! Rude spanish speaking staff

The location is quite good, very close to the city center y a quiet street. Service very helpful and friendly. Room clean and very big. The room and hostel is old but because it is in the center and the downtown of Arequipa is old but with good maintenance.
The bathroom is some old and I think that it should be reformed. The room is cold because it is an old house, but during night time inside the bed is comfortable.
