Stayed for 4 nights in a single room facing the Main Street. 

Excellent location at the plaza. 1 min walk to Juanita museum. 5-10 min walk to Santa catalina monastery. 15 min walk to central market. Near most attractions, and supermarket, restaurants, shops.

Single room I stayed in is small and little noisy due to the street. But not a big problem as the noise dies down after 8 pm. No problem sleeping. A little too dark for reading but there is a large bright common area which allows reading, using the PC and printing, drinking coffee/tea. Breakfast is basic but standard as per most hotels in Peru.

Service is very friendly, personal and helpful, with booking taxi, giving suggestions. Staff try their best to help with guests’ needs. Great time chatting with them. Hotel door is always locked but there is always someone who is around and who promptly answers. 

Excellent location, friendly service 

Excellent accommodation! After arriving early (after an all night bus) to check in to our reserved hostel and being “greeted” by an indifferent receptionist in a dirty reception area where we would have to wait several hours until the official check in time, we walked a few blocks and found Casablanca. At 0645, we rang the bell and were greeted by a smiling, welcoming Angel, who immediately checked us in to an available room where we showered, napped & began our day refreshed. What a difference a first impression makes! We made arrangements to return here after trekking in Colca Canyon, storing bags not needed. Immaculate, friendly and comfortable, great location, laundry, breakfast, city direction assistance... 
Highly recommend!

3 nights in Arequipa

Jean-Paul is the heart of this hostal! After coming in from viewing the Colca Canyon, we were so pleased to find this cute and lovely hostal located just steps from the plaza! The hostal was reasonably priced (we were on a college budget) and the three of us stayed in a triple room. The room was so spacious, high ceilings, and beautiful architecture! Not only was the sink in a separate room from the shower and toilet, but we were pleasantly surprised to have a room cleaning service complimentary! We came back from a fun day touring around the city to find freshly made beds and restocked toiletries. Our stay was two nights and three days in Arequipa. The breakfast consisted of bread, jam, butter, coffee, tea, ham, cheese, and fruit. Also, there was filtered water and a full kitchen for use at our pleasure. We were so happy to see free filtered water! But back to the heart of this hostal, Jean-Paul, he was so accommodating and genuinely sweet to all of us; helping us find places to eat, things to do, answered our questions, and tended to our needs while in the hostal. Jean-Paul was so sweet to allow our dear friend to rest in the hostal all day (after our check-out time) because she had fallen sick, he checked on her throughout the day and provided her with information about medications and fluids to drink. If I ever return to Arequipa, I will undoubtedly stay at Casablanca Hostal. Thank you!

Jean-Paul; AMAZING place to stay; So Spacious!!

Casablanca was such a great place to stay. We arrived in Arequipa not knowing where we would stay for the two nights. After checking a few hostels in the area, we picked Casablanca. Jean Paul is such a genuine and kind person. He checked us in and was extremely helpful during our whole stay there. The room was fabulous. It was nice and warm (which I find rare in Peru), had hot water, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast on the rooftop was basic (continental), but it was still great to have included within our stay. They also have filtered water which was a plus. The morning we checked out, one of the girl's wasn't feeling well due to food poisoning. Jean-Paul allowed her to stick around in the lobby, even though we were checked-out. He let us stay the entire day because she wasn't feeling well. It was amazing to have someone be so kind as we have no idea what we would have done while she felt so sick before we had to leave the city. We were also allowed to store our luggage in a secure room after check-out, until we left. Highly recommend this hotel as staff is super kind (Jean-Paul is the main person we interacted with), room was very clean and comfortable, and hostel itself has a nice relaxing feeling. It was nice and serene. If I end up in Arequipa again, this is definitely where I would stay.

Such a great place to stay!!!

It really is a cool place and every room has a private bathroom.  It's moderately clean and there is a minimal breakfast provided:  bread, juice coffee and tidbits that varied from day to day- avocado slices, olives, fruit.  It is definitely a safe place to stay and the staff was warm and accommodating.  There is a delightful rooftop garden for reading and relaxing.

Just remember it's still a hostel, a good hostel but not a hotel.

If you still looking for a safe place to stay when visiting Arequipa, Casablanca Hostal is the point. I will say its really safe for everyone who stays here.
Yaime, Jean Paul and Mabel are always alert for your needs, they won't bother you with many questions about your trip, but if you need any info, they can guide you about the city with prices of taxis and places where you can get good deals.
The hostal is basically at the corner of  the main square, where is the heart of the city with churches, restaurants, cafes and museums.
You will get a simple but sustainable breakfast with fresh local bread, coffee, fruit, cheese/ jam and natural juice and more - I imagine it is depending of the season-  but it is really good to start your long journey exploring "The white city".
I've had a good time here, Yaime and JeanPaul helped me when I make a mistake with the number of nights on m y reservation, and they don't even talk or think about and extra fee, even when it was my responsibility.
