My husband and I did the hike + lunch + zipline package. It ended up being just us. We also took the photography package. Will was our guide, Luis the photographer and Leo was the chef/guide. These guys are just amazing ! After the briefing, we started the climb.  Leo loaded a  25L bottle of water and some food and went ahead, so he can have the food prepared and ready by the time we get there. There was plenty of ferrata climbing during the hike and some of it was a little scary if you have fear of heights. My husband is scared of heights but Will made sure to make him feel comfortable. Will is also a funny guy and kept us in good humor ! There is one zipline to get to the lodge. The whole hike took us 1 hour 45 mins, with breaks. But when we got there, a freshly cooked lunch was waiting for us. The food (appetizer, main course and dessert ) is totally amazing- very fresh, flavorful and very filling. Everything was excellent and the view was amazing backdrop for the lunch. Leo - you are an awesome cook ! The zip-line down was fun - there were 6 lines. 

One has to give credit for the amount of work and effort it goes into this whole experience -  that everything has to be carried up and down and getting a freshly cooked meal etc. Do be sure to carry some cash to tip the guide/chef/photographer. We found the hike to be moderately hard but the experience was very rewarding. I would highly recommend it for anyone with a sense of adventure  and wanting a unique experience !

This is one of my favorite activities from our Peru trip. The staff was incredible, the views were unbelievable, and the food was so delicious.  It was such a great mix of adventure and being so well cared for.  We are really happy with the photography package as well. They were able to get drone shots that we could not have duplicated. Plus it was nice not to have to worry about trying to take pictures. We could just have fun.

Don't Miss this Event!

This was the greatest experience ever and to add it was my birthday. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our experience was memorable. This is truly the most unique hotel we have ever visited. To add the total package/adventure we have ever had. This should be on everyone’s bucket list while visiting Peru. Thanks to the entire team for this amazing stay/adventure.

The Stay/Adventure of a lifetime.

Did the SkyLodge with my wife for our honeymoon. Our guides were fantastic and so fun! I’d recommend the harder SkyLodge and you must include the photographer! Food was amazing and your get wine too! Was a bit nervous at first but once you get moving it’s cake!

Honeymoon trip

Let me start by saying anyone can do this, because looking at the reviews I was scared I couldn’t (every review starts with “I’m somewhat in shape but this was hard”). It is definitely a taxing climb up with the high altitude, but I am out of shape, overweight, almost 40 and I made it! Brian was an amazingly guide with limitless patience and let me go at my own pace at the back. I’m terrified of heights but he made me very comfortable and even carried my water for me without me asking. He told me he has had a wide variety of people from someone in their 80s, a 6 year old and even a blind person who has completed this climb. On average it takes 1.5 hours for most people (though the guides can do it in 15 minutes!!!). My group did it in 1 hour 45 min and I did it in about 2 hours. They make a lovely dinner for you at the top with wine included. 

Things to know
- The pods are cold. Bring layers and don’t be ashamed to ask for extra blankets 
- the photo package is 300 soles for 1 person or 400 for 2 (~$115 for 2) and includes drone footage 
- pack light because you carry your own bag up
- bring cash for photos and tips for the guides 
- you can’t charge anything in the pod but they have an external battery in the dining pod you can use

You can do it even if you are out of shape.

Stress-free from beginning to end. The guides took such good care of our group. We even had my 75 year old MIL with us. We were picked up at our hotel in Cusco, driven to base camp, and given our safety instructions. The guides thoughtfully paid attention to varying abilities and steered the trek in the safest way while providing  many opportunities for adventure throughout.  Our group did the hike while the other family in our group did the via Ferrata only. The hike provided many areas of via ferrata as well as an additional zip line on the way ip. Dinner was great, as well as breakfast (and coffee!) in the morning. The pod itself was very comfortable, the bathroom was easy to use. The entire pod was clean, great linens, out of this world views of the Milky Way above and sacred valley below. Brian, Irving, Jose, Keko, and Cesar took excellent care of all of us. Get the drone photo/video package. Worth it

Once in a lifetime!

I recall some years ago seeing pictures of the pods in a magazine and always said I would do this...well, the time has finally come!!! My adventure to the lovely skylodge was May 17-18, 2023. 

I reached out via the website in March with a bunch of questions that were answered right away; a good sign. I decided to go with the skylodge ($425 usd) & camera/drone package ($81usd). I was required to pay 50% deposit at time of booking and the rest the day of arrival by USD (card and soles were accepted too). 

A day before pickup, I was emailed to confirm my information and hotel pickup. I was picked up at 2pm and driven to the camp, and we made one stop to pick up two other passengers along the way. Once we arrived, we were given a class on how to use the harness and climbing instructions. 
While I like to believe i am in great shape, let's just say the 400-meter climb was no joke. I've done simulated climbs on machines, but this was my first time ever climbing a mountain. We started the climb at 4pm; thank goodness I was the last person. While all the instructors and photographers were amazing, I have to give a huge thank you for my guide in the sky, Wally. He stayed with me the entire time, made me stop when he noticed I was pushing myself a bit harder than I should, and drink water and pauses to catch my breath. He constantly reassured me that I would finish no matter what, and he would keep me company. At one point, he carried my backpack along with his stuff to make sure I was ok. I can definitely say my arms started reaching muscle failure, but the breaks help. Finally, after 3hrs I made it to the top, well to the restaurant, lol. I was beyond tired and proud of myself and more so grateful for Wally. 

I watched the team make an amazing dinner for everyone. While I didn't partake in eating dinner, due to my severe allergies, everyone praised how good the food was. After dinner, we did another 15-minute climb to our assigned pods and called it a night. 

The beds were very clean & warm. Extra blankets were available in the room if you needed them. They also provided cushions you could use to sit on the roof of your pod to watch the stars. The bathroom had a divider to close off for privacy. Overall, the room was a 10/10 on the camping scale. 

Breakfast the next morning was prepared, and the photographer once again took photos and even did drone videos. The journey back to camp was all ziplining, and once again, Wally was there to save the day for. There are a total of 6 ziplines back down, and after doing the first one by myself, I was scared to death, Wally offered to assist with the other 2 by connecting my harness to his. I felt safe to do the other 3 by myself. Our driver was waiting where he took us back to our respective hotels. 

Overall, the entire experience was amazing. The picture & drone option is a must as the pictures you would personally take wouldn't capture the true experience. The entire team was truly amazing and helpful. 10 out of 10 on everything.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 

***tips/notes***
-toothbrush, toothpaste, underwear, & deodorant is really all you need for a one night stay
-be clear about your meal preferences & food allergies (i wasn't & felt bad that they cooked so much food i couldn't eat)
-upper body strength is key for the climb
-take your time. The guides are very patient 
They strip the beds of all linen and take them down when everyone leaves/checkouts for cleaning

What an amazing experience!

A group of three of us stayed in two separate pods for one night. It was absolutely incredible and the experience of a lifetime! The via ferrata up to the pods was stunning and exhilarating. The view from the pods was incredible. The food and service were top notch. The ziplining down from the pods the following day was also amazing. 

Advice:
1) One suggestion would be to bring earplugs or have some type of white noise while you sleep because there are dogs barking at night you will hear from the houses below and you will also hear cars and the train passing by. 
2) You have the option to pay for a photographer to capture the experience, which we did, and we thought it was well worth it. The photographer got many great photos of us along with some amazing drone video.

Incredible experience!

It was an amazing experience, although when I was told that there was a climb, I ate OK but when I really saw what the climb would be like, I said what, it was strongly ideal for height and extreme lovers, but it was worth the sight it was amazing.
