FANTASTIC food, and really friendly staff. Both the owner and the server were very pleasant and spoke enough English to take our orders as well. Me and my company got Cebiche Nikkei, Tapa No Clasica, and Lomo Saltado and all three were excellent, the favorite being the Cebiche. Would highly recommend the place.

Fantastic food, place. value, and service

We stayed here with our family for the night before traveling to Machupicchu and had a wonderful stay. Our meal was spectacular, very authentic and delicious food! The staff was extemely friendly and accomodating. We even had a cool fireplace in our room, which added to our stay! Thank you for the wonderful memories.

Wonderful Peruvian Retreat

Our group of six hiked to the Las Chullpas ruins.  On the return walk, we happened upon this charming retreat.  Although we only stopped long enough to have some beers/beverages, it was a charming, unexpected surprise.  The courtyard configuration offers an inviting, comfortable little oasis behind doors from an otherwise generic, dusty road.  Service was cheery and prompt; the staff spoke passable English.  A worthwhile stop if you are in the area.  Although we didn't eat, the menu also looked promising.

Wonderful find when hiking to Las Chullpas ruins

Delicious food, very creative. Surprising to find this here in the mountains. Fresh ingredients, beautiful presented. The owners’ smile and the lovely dog make it picture perfect. Definitely worth a visit. Gracias!

Amazing experience

We booked this last minute and we are so glad that we did. It was an authentic experience and the food was delicious and prepared and explained in front of us so that we could try the dishes at home. We learned some excellent cooking tips. Thank you for a wonderful experience!!

Amazing Peruvian cooking lesson

Our experience at Pakakuna was fantastic! We started with a tour of their garden to see the fresh herbs and vegetables that are incorporated in their cooking. Afterwards, we headed by taxi to the Urabamba market place where we were educated and guided by the chef, his wife and assistant  about local fruits and vegetables, cheeses, medicinals, meats and more - including samples. Back at the restaurant, we were treated to beverages and then the cooking demonstration began. There were three choices for the entrée and main course. The demonstration was very professional - with the Chef exhibiting excellent knife skills, sanitation, organization, and preparation skills. The assistant was available for any needed translations, but mostly the chef demonstrated fully adequate communication ability to describe techniques, preparation steps and information about the ingredients even without the help of the internet! The two courses were excellent! Although larger groups can be accommodated - I would recommend two people to adequately learn and follow the preparations without distraction of a larger group. I would give this experience 5+ stars. Just wish they had extra aprons to sell!

Culinary experience that should not be missed!

My husband and I stayed in a room at Pakakuna for 1 week.  Each morning we were served a delicious breakfast, and Anilu accommodated our lacto-vegetarian diet.  With directions from our host, we took a hike up to the Inca ruins on the hillside behind the B&B.  This hike was beautiful, fun, free, and took us about 3 hours at a slow (photo-taking) pace. It is only a 7 minute, 4 sol moto taxi ride into Urubamba.   On the day we left, we got two packed lunches from the restaurant that had the most delicious vegetarian sandwiches.  I recommend this B&B to other travelers.

Stay at the B&B, enjoy the tasty breakfasts, and go for the free hike!

Pakakuna Posada Gourmet _ a quiet location and not far from the city, is a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are big and very clean, the food is delicious and the owners are a lovely family. During my stay in Peru I was booking this nice accommodation several times and I really enjoyed my stay here. Thank you for everything!!
