our family of 5 stayed her for 2 nights during our recent trip.  The staff were all very friendly and helpful.  The restaurant had generous portions and delicious food.  The beds were comfortable and the bedding warm and soft.

I had stayed at this hotel in 2011 when it was called Qawana Lodge and was blown away by it's beauty and service. I was so eager to bring my group to experience this place. Fast forward to July 2018, what a disappointing experience. What happened?
We arrive at night, there was only one person at the desk, nobody to help with the luggage. The person at the desk was not able to give us any kind of information. To start one of the rooms had the toilet clogged and that was before we checked in. The rooms looked old and dirty with cobwebs. The electric outlets were broken. The restaurant which in the past had a fabulous menu had no menu at all. The dinning room was cold. The next morning we asked for the clothes to be washed and specifically requested same day service since we were leaving the next morning at 7 am. After our day tour, got back to the hotel and found out our clothes were just being washed that night, needles to say when we got our clothes back they were wet. Again nobody could tell us what happened. Breakfast the next morning was cold again. Poor management. I saw only one person, Paloma, doing all the work. She said she had just started working that week, the same goes for the "Manager" a young man who said he just started working there as well. As much as they both tried to help and apologize for the inconveniences this was a very sad experience that I hope will never happen again for this hotel is off our list. I found out that this place had change owners 3 times since 2011.

Very Disappointed!

We, 5 adults over 60y, had reservations through our travel agent. Pictures and description looked promising. We received  keys for 3 rooms, in 3 different buildings. We were told there is usually wi-fi in lobby but at the moment it is not working . The wooden stairs to the rooms were difficult and felt unsafe. The room was smelly, with cobwebs around the windows. Instead of the advertised flat screen TV there was no TV but only a cable not connected to anything. The worst was when we removed the blanket and found dark hairs (not ours) and black jumping insects. Our friends were also unhappy with their rooms. We all decided not to spend the night there. We called the travel agent and later a car came to move us to another hotel, 30 minutes down the road which was great. 
The reception staff included 2 very nice, very young women, speaking only Spanish, who helped us carry our luggage but could not help with anything else.

Terrible.

I have stay at IFK Lodge 6 times. It was my favorite place in the Sacred Valley. The year my group was to stay 4 nights. Our travel company moved us after one. Plumbing not working, ants in one room, restaurant was unbelievable. No food. I did feel sorry for the staff who tried to make things as good as possible. No manager on site. No excuse for this hotel not to do well. Beautiful location and charming facility. Very sad.

Downhill all the Way

We stayed 2 nights and had a very pleasant experience.  The room was a bit rustic but very large, comfortable and clean.  I was elated to find a bathtub and made good use of it.  We had a pretty balcony overlooking the river and mountain.  Communication was a bit difficult as we did not speak Spanish and they did not speak English but they were eager to accommodate us everything worked out.  Breakfast was delicious!

Beautiful Lodge & Location

The hotel is located on a river and the truth is that the view is MAGIC, the sound gives you peace... In general the rooms and common areas are quite rustic and cozy, and have everything necessary to make the stay in the Valle Sagrado really special.The room was quite spacious, with a stove and a very large bathroom.

Precious, magical!!

The best thing about this hotel is its location. it is on the river Vilcamayo and the force of the river accompanies you day and night. it is wonderful to sleep with the sound of the water. the hotel is pleasant, but needs some adjustments of service and maintenance. the beds are very comfortable and the hotel restaurant, nunnay, has very good cuisine.

A special place on the river.

We sleep with the sound of the Urubamba River... It's a special place where the world stops for a few days. What's the best? The restaurant Nunay provided by the Lodge... the most elaborate food, with the best product, that we try all over Peru.

A special place.

It's a dream place in the middle of the Sacred Valley near the river and close to the entire Inca world, just a short walk from Machu Picchu, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a good view, tranquility and special experiences.

At least once in a lifetime.

Excellent attention. Hermosa vista (along the river, surrounded by mountains). Comfortable rooms. I don't give an excellent rating for: La carta del restaurante es limitada. The wifi does not reach the rooms.
