An amazing little paradise and absolutely nothing to moan about!

From A to Z, check in, cleanliness, owners & kitchen chef, etc... Everything went smooth and the people running this place go out of their way in order to help you with  a n y thing - 
not just that; you can feel it comes naturally.

just - G R E A T

I stayed 3 nights.  The bungalows are modern and comfortable.   Travelling from the US, I enjoyed the country setting ( out of town) and small community fiesta.  
Great access to hiking and mountain trails.  Fluent english 
Montana Jazz has breakfast and a feast on Sunday.  The grilling was perfect.
This is by far the most peaceful and quiet room in South America. 

Solo Traveler

We stayed for 3 nights with our two young children at Montana Jazz. The bungalows are not the typical "rustic" decor found in many provincial hotels and B&Bs, but rather a tasteful balance between cozy and modern. Each bungalow has it's own gas hot water heater and wood chimney, as well as a small kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave and portable stove burners. We found the refrigerator handy for storing our kids' leftover drinks or food during our stay. 

You can cook your own food (there is a BBQ grill) or request dinner from Monica, the host, who has a cook on hand during the high season weekends. There is a quaint outdoor dining room for breakfast and dinner (usually a small chimney is lit near the tables during dinner to help ward off the cold while eating). Monica culls some ingredients from her own garden, others are locally produced (like cheese and bread). A basic continental breakfast is included, but you can order eggs or other items at an extra charge. Dinner is extra, generally pizza, pasta or trout. Sunday afternoons Monica opens her dining room to the local public and serves a broader lunch menu, usually dishes cooked in her outdoor brick oven (we requested some servings set aside for us later for dinner).

The grounds are enclosed, so we could let our kids roam freely while at Montana Jazz. That said, there is no playground equipment or anything particularly geared towards children, so bringing some games or toys for small children is a good idea.

Although there is a fire pit, it wasn't lit during our stay. I think a nightly bonfire would have been a welcome service for Montana Jazz to offer. We ended up roasting marshmallows on the communal BBQ grill instead.

Monica and her helpers were very friendly and accommodating, even humoring our kids' constant requests to play with one of the resident dogs. The tips provided regarding local services and experiences were also much appreciated.

Cozy yet civilized semi-country B&B experience

Fantastic couple. thank you for our stay...... Really nice hammocks to chill in. Ronny took us around the local shops and sites. just what we needed before hitting the santa cruse trail for 5 days. such a nice location.

We spent a weekend at Montaña Jazz, and we'll go again for sure! Monica and Ronnie, e owners , are nothing short of exceptional hosts. Beautiful gardens, clean, cozy bungalows with comfortable beds, hot eater in the shower, and great Andean decoration. The view pf the Huascaran is SPECTACULAR! Quiet and peaceful, highly recommendable!

Warm, comfortable, awesome view

This is a small guesthouse outside Carhuaz, it is only 2 years old it is on a country lane off the main highway and is very quiet. It reminded me of our stays in ollantaytambo or canta or vinak. There are 4 bungalows and a main house with outdoor dining area. You can book through 2 agencies we booked through Chavin tours. Monica the owner is great she will help you get a cab, pick up groceries for your cabana or whatever you need. The kitchen does a continental breakfast but will add eggs or juice if you like. The dinner options are pizza, pasta and trout. All the staff were super friendly and speak good english. They will turn on the wifi at the guest house but it is pretty slow, cell phone service is spotty too. Our bungalow was great, there was a fireplace, queen bed and single upstairs and twin beds downstairs with a small kitchenette. It is not heated at night so ams can be pretty chilly. There is a tankless hot water heater for each bungalow although a couple of times I had to turn on the hot water 2 or 3 times to get the gas to light off. Overall a great option to get away from it all, not good if you need to stay wired.
