Hostal El Tambo - Hostel

I arrived in Chachapoyas very late and was unable to visit many other locations. I was very well attended at all times and found many positive things: The place is very well located, a middle block of the square and in front of the model market, where you can eat at a good price and buy fruit for the excursions. My room was very comfortable, the bathroom always had hot water. a large TV with a good variety of channels. The bed was comfortable and the refreshing phrases. Good rest is important because to visit the different attractions you have to leave early and you find yourself very tidy because you have to walk and in great packed condition. The negative: The building has no elevator as well as patience with the stairs.

 Good rest.

Good quality and price ratio. The staff is very attentive and willing to attend and make your stay the best possible. Upon arrival I had problems with the Wi-Fi connection, which they fixed for the time being. Cleaning service ok, and breakfast ready on time (all excursions leave early). The hotel is growing and has no elevator. Very close to the central square and restaurants, cafes, bars, if you plan to go for a walk at night, the location is perfect.

A good stay at home.

I arrived early in the morning and was offered an early free check-in, the stay was quite quiet and the price ratio was acceptable.The only service I did not request access to was wifi, which was not allowed on any of the networks.

This hostel has two options; its backpackers version and a higher quality one. In the first the rooms are under shared as well as bathroom and kitchen; while in the hotel option there is greater privacy. It is worth noting that I arrived at the hostel early in the morning (after an endless journey of curves and contracurves from Cajamarca), my room was occupied and the receptionist very kindly offered me another room from the most expensive sector to rest. This type of attitude after a tiring trip is very appreciated. The facilities are good and are expanding as room construction goes on; as Chachapoyas receives more and more tourism.

Agradable 

The hotel has the basics, as we were in high season, the attention was not the best, we were given a simple room when I had paid for a wedding, I didn't eat anything until the next day because the first day we walked a lot and just wanted to rest with my husband, then communicate but just lowered the cost because there was no more room. The water took too long to heat up. The atmosphere is quiet, the receptionist is very friendly.

The adventure is an adventure.

this was a cheap hostel.  our room was basically plywood walls and a door that couldn´t be secured properly.  The bed sheets looked like they hadn´t been washed....ever and the matresses felt like they had been slept in since the mid 90´s.  The only upside to this place was their smokin´hot showers.  Save yourself the trouble and find another place to stay.

Dirty cheap

We stayed in a double room with private bathroom whilst waiting to move into our apartment.
The cleanliness and comfort of this hostel is sadly marred by it's noisiness both from the road outside and from the inside too.
Doors banging, people shouting, children screaming at all hours of the day and night, loud music and TV's blaring out were the norm during our 5 day stay.
Would not stay again and would not recommend more than 1 night

Earplugs required

We spend 3 nights in a matrimonial room witch was very clean and comfortable. It was 60soles a night but there are cheaper options (dorms or private room with shared bathrooms). The breakfast was ok (fresh juice, hot drink and bread with eggs or tamale), you have Wi-Fi access, hot shower and you can use the kitchen if you want to cook. The building had lots of openings with the outside so it was a bit chilly but ok in the room. There were workers on the top floor of the building so from 7:30 am till the evening, it was very noisy but I guess it won't last long! 

Nice location but noisy! 

It's a very small budget hotel, very close to the central square. The rooms are well maintained, much better than many similar hostels in the neighborhood. The only thing I didn't really like was the fact that the windows were almost on the roof, easy to get into the room.
