We stayed in the Gad Gha Kum lodge for two nights. The location is amazing, it cannot get any better. But... The cabins are run down and are in desperate need of some TLC. Holes in the walls, towel holders in bathroom fall off the wall when you just look at it. There is warm water thought - highly appreciated. What really disturbed us was the way the volunteers that sort of run the place are constantly hanging around the breakfast terrace, smoking and talking on their phones. Very incorrect. But as they seem not to receive a lot of guidance or leadership and as they are clearly on a cool adventure... who can blame them? Breakfast is served before you even get to your table (cold scrambled eggs...) or you are told to come back later. All I can say: owners, please, please manage this amazing place and make it as beautiful and welcoming as it could be. My hands are itching at so much unexploited potential!

So much unexploited potential

Our stay was fantastic, this is the perfect place to chill and disconnect, surrounded by the most beautiful gardens, lush jungle, a pool, a natural pool also, and their own walk to a private waterfall where, if you're lucky, you can spot the national bird of Peru the cock-of-the-rock. The staff and owners made us feel like family and the cabins are fantastic and unique. If you go to San Ramon, make sure you stay at this magical place!

Paradise in Chanchamayo

On our last trip to Peru, we were looking for around for a nice place to stay in Chanchamayo, I was recommended to stay at Gad Gah Kum Lodge “El Mensajero”. We had the most wonderful experience in this beautiful and peaceful lodge.
•	Customer service at the lodge was excellent, beautiful facility, attentive service, respectful, seemed like their only goal was to make us feel comfortable and without any worries while we enjoyed our stay. 
•	The rooms were ample, fresh and clean, excellent beds, clean sheets, and towels every day. Smelled delicious like a 5-star resort and spa. Perfect place to get away!
•	The food was outstanding, they also prepare typical foods of the jungle and region for us to delight and enjoy. They were spectacular!
•	The rest of the lodge was like being in a dream, beautiful green, well-manicured surroundings and the pool was just an extra treat. 
•	The excursions offered were very entertaining, and for some adventure they included cannoning, trekking, beautiful waterfalls, rappel, they took us to most beautiful places in Chanchamayo to explore and admire.

Perfect paradise to disconect

This is not really a hotel.  It's more like a bed and breakfast.  There are not many services beyond breakfast.  It's very basic cabins in a nice setting.  Fantastic trail up to waterfalls in the same grounds.  Fairly well placed on the highway between San Ramon and La Merced.  No Movistar signal and internet did not work.  A decent pool, relaxed atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff.  They let us bring our dog, food, booze, etc. very relaxed and easy going.  No kitchenette though.  Too bad if you have noisy neighbors, but that's the same anywhere.
Loved the sound of the river rapids at night, hypnotic, so slept very well.

Bed and breakfast

I went driving to this place, that is saw starting few years ago. After staying in another hotel close to it, i just drived in an got surprised how is ti like now; my plane was going to La Merced next night, but after Rocío, the charming lady that rules the place showed us the bungalows and made an offer to us (US$ 60.00 for a whole bungalow), we decided to stay there. First one night, and next morning  we did not want to go no where else, so we stayed tow more nights. The place is massive; has 300 acres!!! A massive bar and common area (a traditional maloca covered by a white tent), bikes,  beautiful and romantic pools were so open and private (with romantic tents for couples)  at the same time. Oranges, tangerines, pineapples, all grounded around the bungalows can be picked up with no restriction by guests; and after a 20 minutes hike we  found their, kind of private, FALLS!! They were really beautiful, we jumped into the water; was one of the happiest moment of our trip!! Rocío is so kind that when we were leaving, she stopped my car to give me a card, with a beautiful message in it. GRACIAS  ROCIO!!
