We booked the accommodation for 5 nights and consulted Saul a few weeks earlier if he had tour details to Machu Picchu and he said that they did it as a tourist agency, we paid in advance and on arrival he lied constantly, we asked for a refund of the money and did not want to return everything. He made us travel to Aguas Calientes without having the income, assuring that he would send it during the morning, but being there he said he had only for 4 of the 6 we were.

They offer a tour of a Machu Picchu that is a scam.

I went from 23 to 26 January with some friends I was in a simple room and they wanted to give me a room very deep and shared bathroom, I preferred the one in the photo and charged me 60 soles more at the total cost. For paying with a card you are charged an additional 5%, but if the owner is not, the assistant tells you the 10%, very carefully there The facilities are very precarious and the maintenance leaves much to be paid above the bathroom, there is no cable service. The water goes between 10 pm and 11 pm and does not arrive until 4:00 am. The water comes out of the toilet and the toilet, the toilet lid was very damaged and the toilet was very dry, the black roads and the hoses are assumed to be 10%, but the bed is supposed to be unlocked. The only thing that's worth it is the location that is really perfect, right in front of the Plaza de Armas, restaurants and the Exchange Positive points: - Location - The bed was also comfortable, with enough blanket and edredon for the cold - The wi-fi inside and outside the room was very good. Points that don't make me come back: - you hear all the possible noises: people when they come and go, people talking, everything. That is, if you want to sleep well or take a rest in the afternoon, forget it. - Shower: of the 3 days I stayed here I took a hot bath and with plenty of water.

It's only worth the location.

It has a good location, but this poorly maintained house has a lot of humidity, the bathroom curtains have mushrooms, the sink in our room was falling, there was no hot water. The guy who attended is super poorly educated and rude, he wanted to charge us to keep the backpacks 20 soles per person and the room costs 25???.

 Good location, poor infrastructure and attention.

I felt very unsafe as a solo traveller, they put me next to the reception area which was very noisy, door didn’t lock properly and when I pointed this out to them they didn’t care! Bathroom was disgusting, the room smelt and the bed was broken! 

Worst placed I stayed in my 8 weeks of travel. Loreto is across the square and a few pounds more, and is luxury in comparison.

Worst place ever!

The great thing about this place it is the location, directly on the main square of Cusco. Unfortunately the rest was quite disappointing. There are pictures that looks much better of what it is in reality. The room is quite basic and clean enough. The breakfast was very basic. Yet the stuff was very helpful to organise the rest of my trip and give suggestions.

Hello, we were staying in this place for 2 nights. A nightmare. Negative aspects: Hot water is missing in the shower, even though we specifically requested it at the reception and were assured that it would be. Our toilet was not working. Everything was there and it wasn't drinking. Very unpleasant. The Internet is cutting permanently; we have to say it at the reception constantly. The dirt is on its sides. Two fingers of dust in the rooms, humidity in the bathroom, the toilet with the hairs of previous tenants glued and full of dirt. The toilet itself is not drinking. Everything is hygienic with the lack of personal toilet that is included. The toilet does not smell. The toilet is not drinking. The toilet is not drinking. The toilet has a bad smell. We were lying about the toilet and the toilet. We threatened that there is a bad laundry room that has been cleaned in the room.

You've never stayed here.

The location is the only good thing, except that in front of it is a disc. In the rooms in front of it are extremely noisy. The water in the rooms barely came out, when it did not come out due to lack of pressure. The breakfast is pathetic. The attention of the staff is almost nonexistent in solving problems. They did not have a hand towel, and the others were medium and roadside. We asked for a room change that came at the right time, we see that they managed poorly, did not fulfill the promise, and made us go from one night to another to another hostel three blocks away and then back to the day.

Good location, good place for everything else.

Hostal El Chaski is a very basic, no frills accommodation. Our triple room was relatively clean, your average 2 Star Hotel cleanliness. Bring your own sleeping bag liner if a clean bed is important to you. 
The Internet and warm water are regularly turned off (probably to save cost), so either expect to take cold showers and being offline a lot of the time, or keep on asking them to turn it on again, which they will do for you (this however still does not guarantee hot water).

The location is perfect, right in the centre of town. It's safe and close to a lot of good restaurants. The central location however also means that its quite noisy at night (and sometimes even during the day as there are so many processions and festivals going on in Cuzco), so bring ear plugs it you're a light sleeper and wish to get some rest. 

We stayed here because we got a "discounted price" as we did a Tour with Chavez Expeditions. If your on a budget then this is a relatively cheap option, however for what it offers even the discounted price is still too expensive. 


A place to sleep, nothing more

My friends and I chose this hostel to be closer to the city's center. At check in time, the staff was very friendly. The next morning was a different story. The two young girls working seemed annoyed by us needing to check out, even though it was check out time. There are signs all over the place saying you can pay with Visa, this is another reason why we chose to stay here. When it came time the pay neither of the girls working knew how to use the machine for cards, forcing us to pay in cash. They told us that the only employee who knows how to work the card machine would not be coming until that evening. Why have a card reader and advertise Visa friendly if your only employee who can use it doesn't work check out hours? 

Otherwise the room was somewhat dirty and the noise from local clubs left us all sleeping in ear plugs.
