I have been staying at this hotel for several years when I visit Cusco. The staff is lovely, the rooms are comfortable, the location is perfect. For the price you can't find a better place. The hotel's dog is the most adorable pet in the world.

So mixed views here. For the pos, great value for the price. Beds are comfortable and have plenty of blankets. There is a mini heater (!!!) attached to the wall that works very well. Hot water for the most part though not the morning I left. Also laundry is done on site for a very cheap price at 3 soles per kilo. Very nice front desk staff. Breakfast is included in the price and is not bad with coffee, tea, juice; bread; scrambled eggs or egg and cheese in a bread roll. Plus a side of fruit if you wish. Airy inner courtyard painted a sunny yellow sets a good vibe. 

Now the cons: That same airy courtyard is faced by all the rooms so if anyone talks there in the AM (as happens when people are leaving for early tours to treks and Machu Picchu) you’re screwed if you’re a light sleeper. Especially on the lower levels. There are “silence” signs in the courtyard but they are not even adhered to by the staff. All rooms only have very light curtains so make sure to pack an eye mask if you’re affected by light like I am. WiFi is really poor on the upper floors though- I was in room 306 at first and I really struggled. Also I had miscommunication with the staff at breakfast one AM and I heard her still talking about me with the staff in the front room. I know Spanish, idiot! So unprofessional. Finally, I had to get a receipt for my stay and for some reason this process took 10 hours, which makes me really doubt the staff’s mental abilities. 

So in the end would not be sure I would stay here again.

Mixed views 

We stayed at Huaynapata for 3 nights before machu picchu and another 2 after MP. We found the room clean and the hotel staff very friendly. Bathroom comes with plenty of hot water, which is a plus for cold Cusco. The room also includes a free heater. Lovely dog at reception :)
The only note is breakfast area which gets really cold in winter time, food is OK though. 

Nice hotel in the centre of Cusco

Our experience here was positive. The staff very friendly, the room and the entire hotel very, very clean, the breakfast very good, the room very large and well appointed and the beds comfortable, WIFI strong signal, hot shower a bonus, heater that worked well and  the location also perfect, 5 minute walk to plaza but on a quite street. This is a good deal for the money. 

There is a view but on the top of the hotel and there isn't a place to really enjoy the vista. You take a look and go back down. 

I would stay again. The only negative thing I can say is that the hotel doesn't have much character. The common areas were stark and utilitarian. Also they didn't help carry the bags up the very steep and long stair case. If you have issues with steep stairs I suggest staying on the lower floors. We were on the 3rd floor. 

But again this was a very positive experience and worth the money.

A clean, comfortable, friendly and well located hotel!

I met some friends of mine from Santo Domingo and decided on recommendation to go to Huaynapata Hotel, we did not regret it because the experience and the attention was lovely, we recommend to visit it the price is economical

We went to their sister hotel, Wasichay, initially but they were booked. They called this hotel to see if their was room, which they said there was, then we booked and took a taxi over. Upon arrival we were given our room and unpacked and were about to take a shower when they knocked on our door and said they made a mistake, that the room was in fact booked, and they needed us out. We had already unpacked and about to jump in the shower so we needed a bit of time to repack and leave but the women waited at the door saying they needed the room, the people were on their way. 

First, the fact that we called, came over, and were given a room just to be told an hour later we had to leave is absurd. But how they handled the situation by knocking multiple times and barely allowing us time to repack while rushing us out is inexcusable and should have been handled differently. It wasn't our fault they over booked and gave us a room but at that point they could have offered to help find us a new location or given us some time to repack our bags. There was no courtesy or manners offered by the staff. 

The room was ok, it seemed over priced to me. We ended up staying at the boutique hotel right next door which is much more quaint and accommodating.

Tried to book

Firstly we really enjoyed the location this hostal offered. Just off of all the main area but close enough to walk a couple mins. It was nice. It was a bit of an uphill climb but everything is in Cusco. The staff was very friendly here and the matrimonial beds were large! They pushed 2 regular beds together it was nice and big for the two of us! The sound travels really easily though and you can hear everything going on in the hostal.
