I stayed 10 days in SWYH and enjoyed my stay. I had booked a private room and I was surprised how good it was (Room Nr.9 on the upper floor), From here I had a great panoramic view of Cusco even while lying on my bed :-). But of course the view from the hostel is over all excellent. The staff  is very attentive and customer driven -  from the reception Desk to the kitchen. Thanks to all. Breakfast is ok. I didn´t use the kitchen utilities. I didn't use the kitchen utensils, but I noticed that people prepared some really nice dishes.
The private rooms on the 2nd floor are also preferable because of the view and they are more quiet.

This hostel is very cozy and accommodating with wonderful view of the city. This hostel is very quiet as well with clean common areas that have guitars and games. It is so cool to eat breakfast and have an amazing view of the city. Also the views from the common terrace at night are also great.

Amazing Cusco Hostel

Great location in the old part of Cusco. Beautiful view and helpful staff. James from Peru Inca Adventures was very helpful arranging day trips and our tour to Lake Titacaca.

Great stay in Cusco

The Samay Wasi was the best part of Cusco for us. We were scheduled to stay in other hostels as well, but dropped all of them in favor of staying at the Samay Wasi. We were there for seven nights. The view for one thing is unmatched in Cusco. The breakfasts are excellent. Price rooms are quiet and have nice showers with hot water. Bed mattresses are actually comfortable. Wifi is better than most hostels. The people working there are very friendly and helpful. The best of the hosts is James. He spent a lot of time in the US and speaks perfect English and Spanish. If your lucky, he will be the one picking you up at the airport. He is the man to talk to when it comes to tours and local things to do. He will take care of everything as far as that is concerned. Very calm, patient, and attentive. He will keep you on schedule through What’s App.  My brother and his wife will be traveling to Cusco later this year and they will also stay at the Samay Wasi and rely on James as we did.  HIGHLY recommend.

Samay Wasi has it all.

The place is not only located in the beautiful and quiet area of San Blas, but the staff is friendly and helpful to the fullest. I would defenitely stay there again and can wholeheartedly recommend this Hostel to other travellers. Extra Bonus: The have the coolest Hostel cat one can imagine ;)

Awesome stay in Cusco

Samay Wasi Hostel's stay was really good. The location seems to be a bit far from the city center but the hostel has great views and cozy rooms. The team was so easy to communicate even though they couldn't speak much English. The breakfast provided by the hostel was good and filling. One of the best hostels I have stayed so far. They have many communal places like a balcony, a sit-out terrace and a small library. They also have a friendly cat on their welcoming committee.

A wonderful hostel! We stayed for about a week and enjoyed our time here. James is super helpful with everything (and speaks english!), and helped us booking different tours as well as getting our bus tickets away from Cusco. The atmosphere on the hostel is very social, and it’s easy to meet new people. And then the view from the terrace is just amazing.

Wonderful hostel

I stayed for 5 nights in total in a dorm as a solo female and felt super comfortable. It’s a very relaxed vibe and cosy atmosphere. The shower is warm with high pressure which is amazing! The free tea all day is a nice touch too. James was incredibly helpful, he picked me up from the bus station when I arrived, helped me plan my transport/tours for Machu Picchu and rainbow mountain, and whilst I was on the tours he checked in to see how I was doing which was very kind. I would definitely recommend staying here, I think it’s really good value.

During our trip in Peru we stayed 5 nights at Samay Wasi. The hostel is very cozy and the staff is incredible friendly and kind. We mostly enjoyed the view from the terrace over Cusco. We can absolutely recommend a stay at this hostel - enjoy it!

Excellent hostel

We had a fantastic stay at Samay Wasi. One member of staff in particular, James was always willing to advise and help and offered us coco tea on arrival and lots of information. Beautiful views too! Thank you!
