After nine years I came back to Iquitos for a week vacation.  It was the third time that I stayed at Hospedaje Las Golondrinas. It feels like a home, clean, safe, and always welcomed by Rosita (the owner) and Elbert (her right hand). They are so friendly and caring. We enjoyed the pool so much. It is rear to find a pool in a hostel that it is why I always come back to Las Golondrinas. Likewise, this place is so convenient because of its walkable location to the main square, pharmacies, restaurants, the boulevard, banks, laundry, supermarkets, convenient stores, and fresh markets. We walked most of the time. We highly recommend it! Also, my friend and I booked one of their 3d/2n tours by Jungle Wolf Expedition. It was so amazing and exciting. Thanks to our tour guide David and all the staff who care for us and make our delicious meals based with local ingredients. Rosita you are the best! You have a great staff and everything was well organized and punctual. You made my friend’s dream came true. She always wanted to visit Iquitos, the jungle and to see the stunning and impressive Amazon River. Thank you very much! M & M

Adventure & time to relax

We stayed 5 nights in this hostel and really had the best of it, it's very cozy, the swimming pool is really cool for the heat that it does in Iquitos, there's a supermarket two blocks from the hostel where you can find everything and the main square is just 8 minutes walk away, 100% recommended.

This is an unforgettable station!

I stayed here for several nights, clean, inexpensive and the pool is great in the afternoons! Nice folks, good security and pretty handy to downtown.  The place is on Putomayo which is busy, but this place is pretty quiet.

Nice hostel with a pool

Friendly staff. Good accomodation for the price. We booked our Amazon tour with them too, in May 2017. Best tour during our 4month trip. The guide's English was perfect. All excursions were private with our own boatman too. The food was amazing and plentiful.
Definitely recommend.

Decent hotel that offers great tours

After staying with Rosa at the Jungle Wolf Lodge we were glad to stay at her family run hostel. Access to kitchen & pool are stellar. Location is central to the city and prime for exploring. A quiet neighborhood makes resting easy & motortaxi is quickly available anywhere. A great deal for the price. The family was super helpful in printing our boarding passes for the flight out, even with the consideration of a massive language barrier. These folks are willing to help you enjoy your stay in any way! Rosa is the best Iquitos Mom we could have asked for! 

Lovely hostel, highly recommend!

I stayed at Golondrinas multiple times. While there is no AC there is a pool where you can cool off. Rooms also have fans. The staff is helpful, and everyone says good things about their Jungle Tour. Great value.

Friendly with a Nice pool

This place is a good adress if you want to do a jungle trip or just stay in Iquitos. The hostel has a swimming pool and a familiar atmophere thanks to the owner Rosa. The hostel provides trips into the jungle (jungle wolf expedition) which we can fully recommend.

Familiar atmosphere with jungle trip

I've spent 3 weeks in Hospedaje Golondrinas in July 2018, and I couldn't wish for a better place. Rosa, the owner runs the hostal with the help of Hebert, who speaks well English. They are always welcoming and happy to have a chat in Spanish or English. As I was working during my stay, for me it was crucial to feel safe not only myself, but my valuable stuff as well. You can enter to the hostal only after ringing a bell so that someone comes and opens the door for you. This is a good way of controlling people. It's a quite small place having only a couple of rooms, so you have chance to get to know people better. There is a nicely equipped kitchen and a pool where you can refresh yourself. The wifi is quite weak, but I hardly found better one in the entire city. I can absolutely recommend this place!

lovely family-run place

I stayed with my wife for 3 nights and the stay was very relaxing and comfortable.The location is very convenient as it is very accessible from any point of the city (for example, a 5-minute drive from the Plaza de Armas by motor taxi or from the port to the famous Al Frío y al Fuego restaurant).While there are rooms to share with other guests, there are also private rooms, as was the case with me when I was a married man.The rooms include everything necessary, especially fans.There is also free wifi and in the kitchen guests can bring their supplies and prepare freely.Finally, there is a small swimming pool (mostly there will be a well maintained hot tub), which is a very necessary attribute to the city's hot tub and something that perhaps most guests do not.There is also a gentleman's lodge that is associated with the former Jungle Lodge, which is located in the middle of the city, and I can also learn from it if you want to enjoy the best possible experience.

A great option in Iquitos at a very good price.

The hosts always have something to blame, despite a well-equipped kitchen he put us in a 50-story two-bedroom because there's more room in the dormitory to finally get us to pay 56-story at the last minute.
