The Stuff is not friendly nor helpful. When the WiFi didn't work and the owner didn't care, I found the modem and restarted by myself. When he wasn't at the hostel, we talked with some girl he left in charge about staying another night, and he woke us up screaming in the morning for not doing check out. 
The rooms and bathroom smells like dead body.
Kitchen and location- good.

I really want to leave a good review, but it's hard when you catch the staff stealing money out of your bag.

For the price, the hostel itself is prettypically decent if a bit smelly (room B smells like urine). I always had hot water and varying levels of wi-fi. You have to fight for the free breakfast advertised,though, and they will, after several phone calls, finally give in and provide two rolls, a piece of fruit, and coffee. 

Overall, I felt unwelcome for the entire week. Without keys,  you must ring the bell to get in, and no matter the time, you always feel like an inconvenience. If you're not traveling alone, this wouldn't be a big deal, but alone in a new country, one prefers to feel welcomed or at least not like a nuisance. 

Also, as mentioned,  keep your things locked up at all times. Normally,  I'm pretty lax with my things in the dorms themselves,  especially if I'm just in the bsthroom or heating up food. One night,  I can, especially home, dropped off my bag in my female-only dorm,and went downstairs to reheat some food. An old man, who said he was josé's (the manager) father saw me and immediately went upstairs.  When I went up,  I found my door open and him hunched over my backpack, zipping it back up and clutching 20 soles. I got the money back, and he kept apologising and saying something else (my Spanish is pooooor). I told him to get out. He didn't take the other bills that were there or my credit cards, which was strange, but I was still frightened,  angered, and saddened by the experience. I told the other travelers what happened, and we were extra vigilant.

If you stay here, maybe you'll get the nice, friendly José mentioned in other reviews.  Maybe no one will go into your stuff and you'll have a good experience, but for me  this was a terrible beginning to my time in Peru. I've stayed in hostels in over 20 countries, and this was probably the worst due to the staff. I'm so happy to be moving on today.
