This is a dated building and not much has been done to update it. Although it seems in better shape than in photos of previous reviews. The rooms were clean but very tired and old. It overlooks a busy street and is quite noisy. There was hot water when I was there.

It is advertised as having free wifi although this only available in the breakfast room and lounge. Felt a bit cheated.

Continental breakfast is served in the form of bread rolls, jam, coffee and juice. I took the place as a quick stopover. Not conducive to relaxing travelling. It wasnt the cheapest but i get the feeling for a little more, you can stay much more comfortably.

The Wong supermarket is nearby with an excellent deli.

Better value elsewhere

A good experience at the hotel, good quality/price ratio, very close to tourist spots.It was close to the Parque Tradiciones.Although breakfast could have been better, it wasn't bad.The hotel was clean, quiet.

A quiet, clean hotel with attentive people.

It's not a luxury hotel, but at least it has the basics to stay in Lima, with plenty of hot water, breakfast and a good location. It's six blocks from the oval of miraflores, and it's easy to get there by public bus from the airport to there.

I highly recommend it.

El Reducto is a very economical hotel located in a very nice section of the Miraflores neighborhood. Its façade seems to be much better than its facilities. Although it has good infrastructure, it is quite abandoned. Upon arrival, we were assigned a room on the third floor, narrow, too basic, which to display a button, only included a metal hook with a few hooks to hang clothes. The best: it was the only room with a connection to WI Fi. Thanks to the management of one of my friends, we were relocated at least to a room with a closet, more towards the interior of the building, in front of the window of other rooms, which had a very loud sound.

There's no hot water. Horrendous pillows, hard as rocks. They tried to charge me extra for paying in advance with a credit card. There's too much noise at any time and it comes from people that works at the hotel. Terrible wifi. Not all the rooms have Internet connection. Just look at the pictures. There are better options at the same price or even cheaper. Includes breakfast but I didn't dare to try eat. 

Not good at all

I think it's economical, has a very friendly staff and there was constant cleaning in the rooms, but it's very far from the sights, while the facade is old, recommended if you're traveling alone, with friends, considering you only get to sleep.

Most of the time when I'm in Lima I stay here because of the location and the price.It's recommended only for overnight stays.It's quiet and the staff is friendly.Although it may lack some maintenance.Most shops are nearby.It includes breakfast.

 Acceptable

The hotel is located 10-12 minutes walk from the center of Miraflores, the most fashionable district of Lima. 5 minutes walk from the market where you can buy fruits and other food. The hotel is a little busy, wouldn't bother to upgrade. Free WiFi is only at the reception. The hotel staff is attentive and friendly, trying to help with everything. You can explain in English. The room had two beds, a table, two chairs and a cabinet. The panties and underwear are gray and torn. In the bathroom there was hot water in the shower, the sink had a problem with the soda.

It's a little run-down hostel in Miraflores.

The rest is located on the outskirts of Miraflores district, within walking distance (30-40 minutes) of the Miraflores waterfront and near the agricultural produce market. Pleasant, well-kept appearance. Elevator number  is a spacious room with a wide window facing the street, and two beds, covered with dirty covers and grey from old age underwear. The same uncertain color and towel. The furniture is so old as if from a coffee bar: chairs sold with a tightly woven dirt, the table is covered with dirt.

Cheap, but spoiled old stuff.

I reviewed this hotel last month and would have said it was passable but not excellent.  The outward appearance of it is very low-key....no neon sign; in fact almost no sign at all.  I still would have to say the facilities are far from new and there is not much luxury to be found here, but in terms of the quality of its people, and of value for the money, El Reducto was top notch.  Very few of the staff speak English beyond the basic greetings, but again and again, they went out of their way to be helpful to us.  The rooms are basic but very clean.  Towels are replaced daily.  There is no air conditioning but the temperature was consistently good in March and April, when we were there.  They also have a good elevator that accomodates six people.  A simple continental breakfast was provided daily from 6 until 9:30.  The location of the hotel is also very handy to all your needs.  It is located at the end of the oval shaped Parque Tradiciones, the focus point of a nice upper middle class neighborhood.  It is also located just 5 minutes walking distance from simple budget cafes with excellent food, pastry shops, laundries, and a market (Mercado Surquillo#1)  where anything you may need can be found.  There is also a Wong Supermarket about 6 blocks away.  Our whole group of travelers felt that for the incredibly low cost of $31.50 U.S. per double room, the Reducto was an exceptional value.  Although all the staff was super, our special thanks go to a very competent desk clerk named Joel for all his help to us while staying there.
