Munay Punku is a small, simple and clean hotel. It’s located just a few hundred meters away from the main square and within walking distance (15min) from the train station. It’s safe and quiet. One of us fell sick over night and the owners / managers let us stay past the check-out time without a surcharge. They even arranged a private transfer back to Cusco! 

Clean and quiet hotel run by very attentive staff

This was the best lodging we've stayed in during our entire month-long trip in Peru. Worth every penny. The room was super clean and sun-drenched, huge windows with spectacular mountain views and the bed was super comfortable/warm even though it gets cold at night. The owner went above and beyond to make us feel at home; she even ran out to get me milk in the morning when she realized she was out. Very short walk to all the cool stuff Ollantaytambo has to offer but still a very quiet and peaceful location. Highly recommend.

Best Lodging in Peru

I stayed here with a large student group and the family that runs this place was so sweet and accommodating that I really wish I could give this place more stars.  It's by no means a bad place, just not very good.

We all had projects to work on and thus needed internet.  But the wifi at Munay Punku only works (and very slowly at that) if four people max are connected.  It was a bit of a disaster.  There was a major hot water struggle, but I've found that at many other hostels and hotels we've stayed at so that wasn't terrible.  On our first day here, two guys in the first floor room found 17 spiders in the room.  No one else had that problem, but yikes.  

No means a bad place.  Basic accommodations and the family is so kind.  But nothing amazing.

Incredibly friendly

We stayed 3 nights at the Munay Punku Hostel, La Señora Ruth is a loving, very helpful and kind person, everything is impeccably clean, we provide an excellent service to our group, we highly recommend it.

It is excellent.

Excellent quality-price ratio. The ceilings with a little humidity but that would be the only thing to blame. Bathroom with good water pressure, comfortable beds, everything clean. They offer you courtesy tea. A little far compared to other establishments but nothing serious, the village is very small and the walk is pleasant.

A nice little hotel with clean rooms, a shower that works well unlike many others... but a little too far from downtown, but it has the merit of being quiet!

Correct

Very clean and well kept, a good value.  The family that runs it is very nice and helpful. We stayed here after finishing the Inca Trail and I was pleasantly surprised that everyone in our party of eleven got a hot shower in the evening when we arrived. It's about a five minute walk to the center of town, but I'd highly recommend it.

A nice clean hotel

It's a hostel that meets all expectations very well, comfortable beds and clean rooms, good breakfast, its location is not the best, but it's not bad either, you have to walk a bit, but the city is small.

Meets expectations fairly well.

Clean and very safe (there is a wall and a secure gate) but pretty basic and slightly shabby. You get what you pay for. The friendly manager and his large family seem to have taken over most of the reception area and ground floor. The wifi works but was weak in our room. On leaving to go out on our first day, the wife said: “you don’t want your room made up, do you?” Slightly taken aback I said: er, no, but could you make up the bed please? She took that as a cue to do nothing. This hostel/hotel is next to a surging river which makes for a pleasant noise and ambience (in my view) and you can sit in the back garden and just look at, and listen to, the rushing water. Breakfast was very basic. Water and beer are on sale for a modest price. The manager took us, for a fee of 180 dollars, on a drive in his taxi up into the mountains and to a nearby archaeological site. He also took us to an Andean family who showed us how they dyed and weaved textiles and gave us a free lunch.

This hotel is managed by a very friendly family. The room is ok , our bed was small and not that comfortable (as I read in other reviews)
The hotel is located near the river which offers good views but also produces permanently some sound/noise as if it is raining
No shower gel or shampoo available ( our travel agency told us not to bring these as we travelled light to Machu Picchu)
Hairdryer an heating available on demand.
Breakfast ok , fried or scrambled eggs , tasty orange juice and better coffee than in most other hotels
