I wish I could give six stars. This place is quietly tucked away behind the main road. Beautifully landscaped, well maintained inside and outside. Buildings are well appointed. Rooms are spotless. The food was fresh and delicious. But, the best part of the visit is Xavier and his family. They went above and beyond to ensure our group of 15 was well cared for and comfortable. It was a wonderful experience.

When we first arrived, we were met at a run-down-looking building. That was not the hotel; it was where the hotel employees met us. They took our bags for us as the hotel was down a narrow street that would be considered an alleyway by American standards. 
Once we reached the gate, the pearl was revealed. Modern distractions like TV and satellite do not mar this beautiful area. Gorgeous plant life and walkways enchant visitors almost as much as the owners' love for the place and sharing it with people.

Hidden Pearl

The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. The grounds were beautiful and landscaped with indigenous plants. The mountain view at breakfast was amazing. Our room was huge and rustically decorated with our own bathroom and shower. The food at breakfast was delicious and authentic, but did accommodate American palates also. The owner and chef went out of their way to make sure my two picky eaters didn't go hungry. The owner, who is a native French speaker, helped my son practice his French. He also made sure the office was open late so I could get some work done during my trip. I can't say enough wonderful things about them. You will not regret staying here.

A hidden gem. This hotel was like discovering treasure.

Stayed at  Willka Rumi this summer with a group of teenagers on a ed trip around Peru. 
Javier and his family went above and beyond for everything.  Incredible place, incredible people. Recommend 100%...

Beautiful place, beautiful hosts

Our group of 22 had the place to ourselves and received the full attention of the staff on our tour. Wonderful food, hospitality, and ambiance. The menu was catered to our needs and was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The rooms were comfortable and quiet. The grounds are beautifully kept and like a little piece of heaven. Highly recommend the lodge. We felt like a part of their family.

Hidden piece of heaven

We stayed here two nights, June 20, 21 and arrived at night.  Staff met us at the road with flash lights and loaded, carried our belongings down to the hotel for us.  The path is a unique and adventurous way to get down to the hotel.  And in the day, its gorgeous.  

Pros:

Owner Xavier and his wife are gems.  Their number one goal is to make you feel like family.  And they succeeded.  

The hotel and its grounds are absolutely beautiful.  Breathtakingly beautiful. 

The stars at night.    Wow. 

The rooms are spacious, clean, the beds are very comfy with lots of blankets.  The nicest place we stayed while visiting Peru. 

The food was delicious.  

There was hot tea of choice in the "lobby" every night when we got back.   

Cons (kinda):

In our room, there was no hairdryer so I requested one and was given one - no problem. 

We were a large group on a time line and all showering at the same times.  In our room, we ran out of hot water.  This was one and half showers in. 

In the winter, there is no heat.  At night it gets down to 30 degrees.  This was the only REALLY negative about the place.  We were freezing until we got to in to bed. Then it was a mental pep talk to get up to go potty or even get going in the morning.   This is however common.   My only suggestion would be to offer space heaters for those that ask.  

I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel to those wanting to stay in the area.  Was worth the cold nights.  (And this wouldn't be an issue during their summer.)
