I stayed with my husband and my two daughters, and we had no issues with anything. The staff is very friendly, they helped us in everything. The room is airy and spacious. (If you can take it for the entrance, it's a staircase and some plants but on the 2nd floor.

Very comfortable.

We travel for work and stay in the Latino hostel.The attention of the very friendly staff, the precise location to get to the main avenues, the room and bathroom clean and at a good price.I recommend it if you are looking for something with 3Bs.You just have to climb a couple floors for the lobby and another for a room with a good view.

Bonito Barato is well known.

In May of this year-2017-I spent three nights at this hotel.I was very satisfied with my experience there and can recommend this hotel as a good place to stay.Check-in was handled very promptly and the room that I was given was more than adequate.The room was clean.had air conditioning that worked and was serviced daily.The most outstanding feature of this hotel is the friendy nature of the staff.They seemed to take a genuine interest in travellers and were helpful and obliging.One staff member was very helpful in locating good restaurants for me on my first night....I can recommend this place very highly and am happy to give it 10 out of10.

Friendly staff...clean room...central location

The hotel is two blocks from the town square, the staff is very friendly and the room is large and quite clean, the sheets are also quite clean and fresh. The bathroom is also clean. It has free wifi.

A good hotel and a central location.

Comfortable and central hotel, the hotel is very friendly, I always stay there on my way to chiclayo. it has air conditioning, free wifi, they have friendly hotel. this is 2 blocks from the main square of chilcayo.

CENTRICAL and TRATO AMABLE

Some people would call it a bland hotel room but this was what was great about it! It was clean with the beds and bathroom cleaned and made up with fresh sheets while you were at breakfast (this was down the road at a local restaurant but included in the price of your stay). There was a tv in each room with a good amount of channels and internet access by the front desk. It was also in a good location, just off the main street (but no road noise) and just a few minutes walk from the bus stations (which we did at 4.30 am with no hassle). The hotel also has a security guard overnight.
When your travelling you don’t necessarily know what your going to get but this is your standard hotel and that is what was so attractive about it, you know everything will work!
The evening staff were very helpful, unfortunately the same cant be said for the woman who worked the morning shift, on arrival she turned the TV by the reception on very loudly despite that our room was right next door, and she was also unhelpful when we asked if she could call our tour which was 45 mins late just saying that they would turn up.

No nasty surprises

The hotel is located in the center, but it is very small. You climb a steep staircase to reach the reception and the room was right in front of the desk. It looks like it's family in a house. Better so everything is under control, given the high crime rate and the usual thefts in all the Peruvian cities. The room was clean, but small. but everything was functional, including the bathroom. the kind staff, breakfast in a bar in front, especially the location, useful for walking around the city center. Recommended for those who have no complaints and are satisfied like us of simple, but clean and safe accommodation.

Just a central hotel

The location is good but the rooms spt those in the corner on two streets are hellish for cars and infused for sun exposure! I spent a sleepless night. The bathroom was not very clean and breakfast must be done in a bar/restaurant a hundred meters away, where by the way for asking for a cup of milk (since they had only brought a kind of coffee) they made us charge a really exaggerated supplement, for the place, of 5 euros! The building is narrow and high, the entrance is claustrophobic, the hostel is on the second floor with all carpets, I wondered if in case of problems there was a kind way out! The staff is nice but not enough!

It's noisy, dirty!

We stayed in this hotel as we did not have many other options. The rooms are nice but there was no negotiating on the price despite the fact that it was off peak season when we were there. We were given 2 triple rooms and 1 double for 7 of us. I had a double room to myself and we were charged for the double room even though a single would have been fine. The bedroom was very spacious and looked out onto the city, there was a lovely bay window in the room. The bathroom was good with a nice shower. Breakfast is not included and we expected to have something for the price we paid. We stayed out quite late and were a little unorganised the morning after, we were twenty minutes late checking out and were informed that if we didn't leave immediately, we would be charged for another night. There wasn't exactly people queuing up to check in and other places are usually quite lenient with the check out time. Staff were not very friendly.

Unhelpful staff

Chiclayo is a hot, congested, and noisy city with a reputation for petty crime (the food, friendly people and nearby sights are excellent though). When I visited there I wanted a secure base so I paid a little more than I had elsewhere in North Peru, and it was worth it.

Latinos Hostal is a block from the main plaza, two or three minutes walk. The room I stayed in was large, very clean and comfortable, and surprisingly quiet given the location. I´m not always the biggest fan of aircon, but it was a godsend in this case. The staff were very professional and courteous. Importantly in this city, security seemed very good - the hotel is upstairs, there is always someone at reception, and at night they had a security guard at the door.

The hotel is close to a number of nice places to eat (e.g. Hebron and Cafe Americano near the plaza) and there is also a supermarket not too far away. They have one computer behind the front desk which was free for guests to use and was probably the best computer I used in North Peru - fast internet connection, good monitor, and appeared free of spyware and warning messages about fake copies of windows. Great for copying and viewing photos.

Potential downsides: Probably not the greatest place to meet people if you are a solo traveller. View of the city from my room was a bit gritty as you can see what all the buildings really look like behind the frontages, I like that but not to everyone´s taste. There are cheaper options in the city, I haven´t tried them though.

A word of advice: wherever you choose to stay in Chiclayo, book ahead, especially if you have an early morning arrival. The streets are not safe at that hour and it is common for the local taxi drivers to lie about places being full or closed, to try to persuade you to stay somewhere they will get a commission (which will not be nice or necessarily secure).
