I've stayed at the Posada Tres Marias more times than I can count. I travel to the Sacred Valley for business a number of times per year. The posada - a kind of bed-and-breakfast meets a pension - is always clean, the staff are always friendly and accommodating, and the price point is the best you will find in the Sacred Valley for a comparable place with the sort of cleanliness and friendliness of Tres Marias. The rooms are all very comfortable - but if you need more space, it is best to book the "suite" - a larger room with a queen bed. Every morning there is fresh coffee and juice, and made to order eggs. You feel like a member of the family. This is a great place for a low-key stay if you are traveling to the Sacred Valley for work or a quick turnaround trip. When you plan to experience the Sacred Valley for vacation . . . I have a lot of other places I'd recommend. 

My Go-To Travel Stay in the Sacred Valley

I've stayed in Urubamba and the Sacred Valley so many nights, it feels like a home away from home. I've stayed in five star luxury accomodations and in two star hostels. The Posada Tres Marias is the best bang for your dollar/soles. Period. End of story. 

A great location just off the plaza. A beautiful veranda that offers a spacious lawn to relax and rejuvenate. Super friendly staff. Oh, and all for an incredibly reasonable price.

Make no mistake about it, there are plenty of places to say in the city of Urubamaba and the Sacred Valley (believe me, I've stayed in many of them) - but dollar for dollar / euro for euro / sole por sole, the Posada Tres Marias is the best deal in the whole valley.

A word about the hotel: It is basic. The rooms are very clean and the location is secure and quiet - but this is not a luxury hotel. If you're looking for a luxury (or higher end) hotel, this is not your place. There are plenty of high end places - and I suggest spending one or two nights at a high-end place, before changing your reservations to Tres Marias. You'll save a ton of money and you can use your saved money to go out for some great meals in Urubamaba, Cusco, or Lima.

Look No Further - This is Your Place

The place is perfectly located in urubamba, 2 minutes from the train station to Machu Picchu. The place is super safe and perfect to rest and walk in the gardens as you have magnificent Mountain View’s. They have from the tree fresh lemons and avocados . A short taxi ride ~ $3 to the urubamba station to travel to Machu Picchu .

The rooms are spacious, clean, and with a nice view of their delightful garden and the mountain behind. The owners are very friendly and willing to assist at any time. Breakfast is basic and could be improved. Parking space for one car.. street parking not possible as street is very narrow. A nice quiet place to stay.

Spotless, Quiet and Reasonable price

We stayed two nights at Posada La Tres Marias, in Urubamba.  The Inn staff bent over backwards to ensure that we had everything we needed.  The host even walked us to the train station the day we departed to Machu Picchu.  We enjoyed wine on their beautiful veranda overlooking the yard.  The Inn was comfortable, homey and provided an excellent breakfast and tea, coffee, water.  The location was excellent, very close to everything.  The walking can be tiring because of the hills and adjusting to the altitude, so take a Tuc Tuc!  They are fun, inexpensive and they will get you to your destination quickly!  The Inn only took cash.  Bring cash and an ATM card because many places in the sacred valley do not take Visa or MC.  The weather was humid and about 60, not crowded, don't let the season stop you from going.  February was a fantastic time to travel to Peru.  Thanks for the wonderful hospitality!

Posada La Tres Maricas Excellent location, price and accommadating

What can i say!!! Very peaceful and friendly people with a very nice garden. We have three young children and our room led out onto the garden so we could relax and let them play. The breakfast was very simple but lots of fresh bread so i will not complain. I liked the fact that it was a bit out of the way.  i found the back streets to be enchanting.  It fitted in very well with Urubamba.  Nice views of the valley and hotel very secure

Peaceful and friendly with nice garden

This is a very small little bed and breakfast near the centre of Urubamba.

Though we were the only guests during our two night stay, the owners made us feel welcomed and comfortable.

Rooms are basic but very cozy. Bed was comfortable and room was really clean. Plenty of hot water, which is much appreciated during the winter!

There were some noise issues with the neighbors playing music until late at night one evening... so I recommend bringing ear plugs just in case. 

Wi-Fi was strong in the common areas and quite fast. 

Lovely stay and I hope to be back!
