Since our hair-raising experience in one of the rooms where we stayed during our coverage of a sports event in the early part of 2000, we never dared checking in to Kundutel again.

On our last night during our stay, my colleague and I hardly had any sleep as we were kept awake by loud taps on the wall coupled with the sound of a side table being pushed back and forth, which emanated from a vacant room next to ours.

I'm not sure if other guests had similar experience, but certainly, this hotel is haunted and must be avoided by those seeking a good night's rest.

The staff were all extremely accommodating and helpful even though I arrived late and only stayed briefly. They organized everything for me in an efficient manner. I like the location close to all the bars and clubs in Goldenfields. I'd definitely like to stay at this hotel again.

Great Staff

I was very disappointed with this hotel.  We checked in with this hotel via online booking through priceline. 
The trip was an official one so I need to ask for a receipt so that I can reimburse my hotel expense.  But they said i should get the receipt from Agoda or to whoever third party online booking where I got my booking.  That was absurd! Of course I was disgusted when they told me that stupid reason so I reacted negatively. They asked me to contact priceline and demand a receipt from them. I did that but as expected I never got an answer from priceline. So I tried to call and texted them but I think my number was blocked so I sent them an email if they could just provide me with a summary of my account as proof that I stayed in their hotel. But I got no response from them until now. I stayed in their not so good hotel on October 8-9. What a bad experience!!

Very Disappointed!!! 

I have stayed at the Kundutel Hotel several times over the past 2 years and wanted to share my experience.  

Some of the reviews are a little rude and misleading.  

First, you are in the Philippines and you are not staying at a 5-star resort. 

The hotel is a little older but it is maintained fairly well and the staff and owner have always been nice.   

Location: is not as bad as some reviews suggest.  If you are staying in the city center you will be dealing with jeepney horns and other sounds of the city.  You can take a jeepney ride to the city center for 7 pesos if you walk to the main road. Taxi to SM will run you 60 to 100 pesos depending on traffic.  

Location: at night can be a bit loud depending on your location of your room. If you are a light sleeper and the smallest sounds wake you up the Philippines might not be an ideal location for you to travel. There is a club right next door which Kundutel Hotel does not own I know the owner of this club and they have nothing to do with the hotel. There are also a few bars nearby with live music.  Usually not too bad during the week but on weekends can be a bit louder.  

Rooms: the rooms are usually clean.  Only had an issue one time where the room was not clean when I arrived so they changed my room.  The toilets can be an issue from time to time due to low water pressure.  Again you are in the Philippines you going to have issues with some of the simple things.  Flush and hold the handle for a bit and everything goes down fine.  

Staff: They have always been nice and very helpful haven't had an issue with them at all.  

Security: I have never had an issue with my security or felt I was in danger at any time there are several security guards all around the complex at night. Never had an issue with leaving my car or motorcycle in front of the hotel at night or during the daytime. 

Airport: Taxi's charge a fixed fee of 500 pesos to get to the airport.    

WiFi: The WiFi is usually fairly slow but it does work.  I usually just use my own internet via my phone hotspot.  

The stays at this property have been: April 2016, September 2016, February 2017 and November 2017.

Welcome to Bacolod

Didn't had a good experience with my recent 2 days stay. Very old hotel with our proper cleanliness. Far from the city center and not well maintained. 
Should avoid visiting this property if you tend to travel with family for a holiday

Bad experience

- Lied on the phone
- Hotel operates a strip club and several other strip clubs around
- Not suitable area for minors or families
- Cockroaches are widespread
- Bars around noisy until late at night
- Walls at the room was very dirty
- Swimming pool super small I was unsure if it was for birds or humans
- Bad location
- Aircon (A/C) noisy
- Wifi bad and unstable
- Red wine at restaurants served at wrong temp
- No power outlets for EU devices
- Only 1 power outlet available in room
- Old CRT tv
- Food at restaurant is so and so and expensive 

Summary: 
As I first inquire wether or not they had available rooms on the phone, the staff told me they only had superior rooms. When we got to the hotel it appears to me they actually have standard rooms available too. Super nice to know that the staff then lied to me on the phone. 

Our room had several visitations of cockroaches, was equipped with a OLD tv and had only 1 power outlet, which was not suitable for EU devices. Hotel only had 1 EU adapter available for me to borrow.

The swimming pool was of a so small size I was first unsure wether it was meant for birds or for humans.

Wifi was slow and very, very, unstable. 

Later at night we discovered the hotel actually operates its own strip club (or brothel) that is called Bunny Ranch, this is hardly a place for a family to go to. There are also several other strip clubs around in the area. 

The nearby bars and strip clubs play loud music until late at night as well as the aircon unit making very loud noises, ultimately making it very hard to sleep.
