Very relaxing and far from overcrowded beaches so you can have a more peaceful stay in Guimaras. Resort staff is very friendly and food is excellent. I've read that the pizza was good so I tried it and it didn't disappoint. Their halo-halo is also a must-try. I even ordered the large size twice! Overall, it was a great experience. Their room rates are a lot cheaper as compared to resorts in Alibujod beach. Will definitely stay here again when i go back to Guimaras.

Good food, cheaper room rates and friendly staff

Been here last year 2018 and I loved this place. A place where tranquility is all about. Food are served with love. The Clara is a secure and safe place too. Planning to come back once the pandemic is off.

PERFECT FOR SOUL SEARCHING

We loved our stay at Clara beach. Yes it is away from the port but we knew this and hired a scooter at the terminal and drove ourselves here, but actually we could have just got a tricycle there and back. The place is stunning. Frank and Bena have such a beautiful garden with bamboo huts, gazebos and lovely ornamental delights. Set on a stunning beach with mangroves. We had the yuhan hut with a sea view; a very small but cozy hut, probably better for a single person tbh) but It had a private terrace and with the other lounge areas in the garden meant we had space to relax (there are larger rooms available) The fan and the sea breeze was suffient at our time of stay (end of January)
The food that they create is delicious and home made (you must try the icecream) 
Yes, it is more expensive than average ( due to the ingredients, location and skill) but you should eat here all the time as it is the best food on the island. 
All staff here are professional and friendly. We would have stayed longer had we not had to go to the Dinagyang festival on Iloilo.

Beautiful garden on a beach

Guimaras Island, eighteen minutes by frequne P15 one way 60-passenger large bangka - outrigger boat - from Parola Wharf in Iloilo City is famous for what mNy claim are the world's sweetest mangoes.

The island's tourism is growing but other islans like Malapascua, Siquijor and Siargao remain more popular.

I caught a bangka to Jordan and visited the helpful tourism officers to register, then a P350 tricycle operated by Jomer, a 28 year old friendly male.  I stopped off for delicious garlic butter shrimps at a one year old creekside restaurant just three kilometres from Jordan, A Marie Seafood, and then rejoined the trike.

The Clara Beach was two minutes off the main road on a dirt track.  Total trip time was 47 minutes as Jomer was very efficient.

I was greeted by friendly owner Bena, a 27 yer old Filipina with first class English.  Later, her most interesting English special friend, Frank ,a Manchurian who has worked around the world, joined me.  He is an agreeable chap who though a light smoker immediately stopped when I said I may get slight asthma.  No sign of arrogant German owners here!

My room 4, named Francis was in traditional style with a Queen bed - quite a comfirtable mattress - complemented by a mosquito net and a white sheet.  There was a long bench, but on the verandah, a table and two chairs.

The room had an airconditioner that worked OK but it was not split system so fairly noisy.  I still slept well.

The bathroom had a door separating it and a good loo, cold water shower and shelf, plus handbasin.

Towels were white.  Next to my room was a sofa and relaxation area.

WiFi speeds were impressive.  Dropouts occurred occasionally.  I could not get connected until about 0700 in the morning.  It worked best in the open air dining area.

There are 13 rooms.  One is double storey.  The beach is yellowy sand.  It is a sandy bottom lacking corals.  There are some mangroves: good to see.

The place 50 metres away played a noisy radio some of the day and karaoke until about 2100.  Annoying but as the Yanks would say nit a deal breaker.

Swimming was fine.  No sign of rubbish washing up.  Fishermen have nearby boats.

There is a tiny 'swimming pool', more somewhere to rest one's feet.

Staff were terrific.

Food was great, expertly prepared and generous though prices were not cheap.  P650 for a two course dinner.

The outdoor dining area has lovely hardwood tBles and chairs and like the rest a Nipa roof.  There appeared to be larger birds nearby judging by their calls, not just European house sparrows.

Frank and Bena have planted lovely gardens.

There is snorkelling on Guimaras, 25 minutes away by trike.  A day tour with return to Jordan Wharf costs P1500 for a trike and driver.

My en suite double room cost P1430 a night.  Breakfast was extra, typically under P200.

Not an exceptional beach but a hideaway worth patronage.

Off the beaten track but well worth the detour

I know Clara beach since 4 years this little paradise extend recently no more room and bigger space for the restaurant. Native room with one wonderfull wiew at the sea. Quiet comfy and clean Clara beach restaurant is good and creative accessible.. Go try it 

A little Paradise

When I had my Iloilo- Guimaras Trip few months back, I really didn’t prepared for this and I just looked for a place to stay here in Tripadvisor just few days before my actual trip. I just selected the Clara Beach randomly and crossed my fingers and see what this hotel would offer us.

And I’m glad I did.

Good thing that they were not yet fully booked as our visit was scheduled during the Manggahan Festival.

PROs:
1. The place is really peaceful and relaxing. The hotel is situated away from Guimaras’ capital and everything is so serene. Such an awesome place to stay and rest.
2. Facilities are clean and neat. Rooms are in a nipa hut style but upon entering the hut, it has a modern flare. The bed is comfortable to rest in, the comfort room is clean as well. 
3. The staff are friendly and approachable. 
4. You can get a nice view of sunrise at the resort’s beach front. 
5. Most of all, the price is very reasonable. Got my reservation from booking.com

CONs:
1. Since the place is far from the capital, transportation was such a challenge. We went here via tricycle. If you have your own vehicle, it can be an advantage.
2. Beach front is full of mangroves,  but you can walk few meters to get away from these. Also, before you can enjoy the find sand of the beach, you have to step to several rocks and shell, and i think they can clear these out, hopefully.
3. Food is delicious but kinda pricey
4. Wifi too slow, but I managed to restart the router (hehe). Sad is you can only access their wifi at the center lounge of the resort. 

Anyway, the whole point of our stay there is to relax and stay away from the social media, but I can’t wait to share the beauty of Guimaras at that day! Haha

Overall, we had a great time at The Clara Beach. My mom told me she’s considering another visit to this resort in the future.

Went here during Manggahan Festival

Don’t stay in this accomodation. Too far from the wharf. Mangroves on the beach so you can’t really swim. Size of the pool is for kids. High priced food. Rip off rides going back to wharf. No toiletries in the bathroom. Very small room.

Most horrible stay amongst all I had

We spent almost two weeks in Mauritius and Sunita Jhoolunsingh has been absolutely amazing when it came to looking after our two girls, ages 2,5 and 5,5. She spent a lot of time with them and did lots of activities, reading and even arranged for dinners. Sunita was very helpful and gave us advise on what to do and where to go and with any questions we had. We can only highly recommend her and look forward to seeing her again on our next holiday.

First time on Guimaras, came from Negros, Pulupandan ferry was a bit weird but we got here in one piece.
Welcomed like long lost friends by Bena and Frank who are great hosts of this beautiful individual design resort, best described as comfortable rustic, mostly nipa native construction.
Beach is long with clean sand and  part original mangrove, shallow so bathing at high tide is easier else its a long walk to the waves. No signs at all of the past oil disaster.

The food cooked by Frank and his young native chef  is unbelievably excellent, we sent back clean plates with every meal, some times there was just so much brilliant food and we had to take a long time to enjoy it all.
A booked 8 day stay turned into a 21 day feast of good meals, with great conversations, it was a difficult decision to leave but we had appointments elsewhere to attend.
Staff amazing, did all our laundry, served, cleaned and were ever helpful. A joy to be with. Massage service available too.
Prices far from expensive, would have expected to pay far more for this level of accomodation and food, hope it stays the same as we will be back for more pampering.
A not to be missed experience, handy if transferring between Iloilo Panay and Negros island.
