Nayomi Sanctuary Resort in Balete, Batangas is the perfect place to relax, de-stress, and connect with nature. The resort is literally a botanical garden.  The owners and staff apparently take great pride in maintaining a beautiful, clean, and natural environment.  We stayed in a lovely casitas surrounded by tropical greenery, overlooking Lake Taal.  It was such a treat to sit on the veranda at sunrise,  sipping coffee, and listening to the forest come alive.  Sunsets were amazing in their own way, setting behind Lake Taal under a red sky. Our accomodations were roomy and excellent. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom/shower was clean and adequately sized. The outdoor resto/bar, 'Anahaw', was nice; the staff very friendly and respectful.  All of our food was very good, especially the pinakbet and the ginisang monggo.  We chose Nayomi for a personal retreat / getaway. We were not disappointed.

Nayomi Sanctuary Resort - True to It's Name

We loved this place and would definitely go back. It was a relaxing two days with the kids, we got to swim in the pool, play in the playground and we all got to watch the sunset and then take part in the bonfire (7.30pm) and movie night (8pm).

The gardens, pool and viewing terraces are beautiful and extremely well maintained. A lot of love has gone into the visioning and creating of this place and it shows. There is a nice community of people who run it. I met the owner and the manager and they were very welcoming and informative and made sure we had everything we needed. I was even able to order our dinner on Viber while I watched the sunset and then it was ready for us when we got to the dining room. The rooms are a good size and well equipped. 

For me, the only improvements that could be made would be with the food and service, but maybe thats a cultural thing because I am not from the Philippines. We would have loved some milk in our morning coffee and a cocktail in the afternoon but they weren't available. We would also have loved a little more attentiveness at our table, we had to ask for a lot of things that could have been spotted with a little more attention. Aside from that though, it was a wonderful experience. 

We loved this place and would definitely go back.

We were here for a wedding on where the couple reserved the whole resort.

What’s good?

1. Food, is ok lang.

2. Room is spacious.

What’s not good? 

1. Inconsiderate management. Food can only be consumed in the restaurant, no room service nor take out. We had an incident (breakfast time) on where our kids are in the room and it’s raining. We kindly requested if we can bring the food there, they said no, and asked us to bring our kids in the restaurant. Do they have umbrellas to lend? No, they said we need to provide that. Will they allow us to pickup our kids with their golf carts? No, as their golfcarts are strictly for check in and out only. I even asked them what if its a senior citizen, elderly or disabled? NO, bring them to the restaurant. 

2. People from different rooms cannot sit on the same table! As me and my folks are sitting and waiting for our meals, a staff asked 2 of my folks to move 2 tables away from us as they are checked in a different room, this is because of their POS system as per the lady staff. Yeah, ok lang daw magsigawan nalang rather than maguluhan sila sa table management.

3. Your included breakfast can only be redeemed on or before 0930 am, beyond that, you pay for your breakfast and you cannot refund the monetary value of your meal. Even if you are the only customer in the resort, even if you rented the whole resort, manigas ka sa gutom, or magbayad ka.

Terrible, as in pwe!

Nayomi was my family's introduction to glamping, and it fit the bill. After our experience, it made us want to try other glamping accommodations in the Philippines. Here's my review:

First, the good things about Nayomi. It's a big place. I thought it would be on a small patch of land, with all of tents and other accommodations cramped together. I was pleasantly surprised to of its large area. Sure, Nayomi sits on the side of a hill, but there are adequate stairs, paved roads, and they have an electric golf cart on call. There are 10 tents scattered around the estate in 2s. 

And I liked that the owners invest in the resort's maintenance. The grass and the gardens are well groomed. The streets and stairs are regularly cleaned. In other words, the public areas are well kept.

Each tent has its own bathroom. I liked that the owners did not scrimp on the toilet and the bathroom walls. The water closet had a bidet. And the tiles used were not cheap. However, the shower was cold. No hot water. For some, this could be a deal breaker. But, it is still camping. So having a clean bathroom is already a plus.

Each tent sits on its own deck. There are plastic chairs for lounging, and umbrellas in case it rains. Each tent also has its own outdoor table (for dining, reading, or playing boardgames). So I liked the layout.

I also appreciate the hotel staff and the activities they prepared for us. The front desk receptionist Len was bubbly, welcoming, and explained to us the house rules clearly. The groundskeepers and the tent attendants were attentive and respectful of our privacy. They even provided us with a hotel cell phone we can contact them with in case we needed anything. My suggestion/recommendation would be if they could provide us with welcome drinks, like ice cold buko juice or mango/banana shake.

About the activities, the staff arranged dinner at 6pm, a bonfire at 7:30pm, and afterwards, an outdoor movie at their amphitheater. My suggestion/recommendation would be if they could provide free marshmallows. (We had to purchase marshmallows from them)

And I liked that they allowed me to fly my drone. Thumbs up for this, Nayomi. 

Now to the bad things (or stuff that needs improvement). The tents. They need to be thoroughly cleaned and aired before they let guests stay. Ours had molds on the lower sides of the tent. I checked the other tents after we had moved in, and those tents appeared to be cleaner from the outside. My suggestion to readers is to inspect the tent first before accepting it. There are 10 tents in the property, and I suspect some are cleaner than the others. (I think the tent given to us was the most used because it was geographically the best. That is, we were close to the bonfire grounds, amphitheater, and swimming pools. The other tents were further down the hill.)

Inside our tent it smelled stale. But this was quickly resolved when we opened the large electric fan. All it took was proper ventilation, so no biggie. Anyway, there are 3 large beds. The tent can fit 6 people (2 persons per bed). 

There are a lot of ants outside of the tent. But this is camping, right? So it should be expected. Maybe this is also the reason why they do not allow guests to bring personal food inside the tents. Potato chip or chocolate crumbs could attract the ants to come in. (Thankfully, we had not ant problems inside the tent)

Overall I had a pleasant stay in Nayomi. I got to fly my drone. My daughter got to swim. And we were finally able to experience glamping. Now, we want to try out other places in the Philippines that offer the same accommodation. 

PS: There is no wifi in Nayomi. And phone signal is weak. Turn off your phone, and enjoy nature.

Introduction to Glamping

Have you ever wanted to go camping but don’t want to hassle yourself with so many stuffs? Well this is the place for you. It has all the convenience of a hotel but a taste of nature’s best.

There is a restaurant, bar, swimming pool, a movie area and a play area. Oh! We love the campfire!

The tents are decent enough with cushions, pillows, fans and toilet rooms. 

This place is ideal for family, school outings or even wedding.

Glamping at its best!

My family stayed in a beautifully crafted villa in the Nayomi Sanctuary Resort. I really adored the spacious bathroom. There are two swimming pools in the resort that me and my kids enjoyed greatly. You can clearly see that the Pratts family really gave a good effort in putting up the place. 

What I did not like most about the resort is the quality of food served. At dinner we pre-ordered Chicken Tinola and the BBQ Ribs. The serving is too little, food is not warm and taste is just meh. The breakfast is far worse, there's very little options to choose from. The corned beef was served straight from the can and everything is dead cold. It's preposterous! I had to request to microwave the meals to be edible. The location is very oddly located and there's not much option to dine elsewhere. 

The toiletries included in the room is just one shampoo, a conditioner and a soap, I'm glad I've brought our own. There's not even complimentary bottled water, just 2 sad packets of instant coffee (yup, no tea). And there's no wifi in the entire resort, so it's not a work-friendly place. 

The place has a very good potential, but it lacks the customer service one would expect in a hotel/resort. I think for this kind of business, hotel owners should always keep in mind that "The devil is in the details". For it's price range, I think there are far better options.

Good place, bad food

Visited Nayomi resort which indeed is very beautiful. Lovely pool, restaurant serving local Filipino food is okay also. 
Walking around the resort is lovely but wear sensible shoes as it is extremely hilly so if you don’t like walking this is not for you! 
Villas looked to be beautiful, however we were Glamping! Situation of the tents is good and one is not too near to other tents. 
However I was horrified to see excessive fungi all around the base of the tent! This is not only extremely bad but the spores from whatever fungi is present could well be very dangerous if ingested. 
I would strongly recommend that the owners and management address this problem immediately and change the fabric of the tents to that of a material which will inhibit the growth of fungus! 
You could well be leaving yourselves wide open to insurance claims from guests if they contact some tropical disease due to the fungus! 
Apart from this issue which is very serious if I return I will be staying in a villa unless I am informed that all tent fabrics have been changed.
Staff are very nice and friendly in the resort and there’s beautiful scenery here.
Wear suitable clothing as mosquitoes are in abundance and bring creams and lotions! 
Mattresses in the tents were very comfortable also! 
Bathroom was adequate but floor mats are needed as if it’s raining the tiles are very slippy. 



Beautiful but worrying!

I’ve been looking for a new activity to do for my husband’s birthday and I came across the idea of GLAMPING! Nayomi was one of the first resorts that came up in my searches...and it did not disappoint!

ACCOMODATIONS:

We took one of their Glamping tents and we were pleasantly surprised how comfortable it is to be staying in a tent! The bed and pillows are super comfortable. Our tent had 3 beds so this can actually fit up to six people inside. They provided an electric fan and a small lamp light inside. The best thing is that they have a bathroom set up outside your tent! So you can have a good bath in privacy...no hot water though. :( Some of the wooden planks also need some replacement, i nearly hurt myself when I stepped on one.

AMENITIES

One of the things we enjoyed was the resort pool! It was big and the depth was just perfect. They have a small playground for kids. What you will enjoy here most though is just leisurely going around and enjoying the scenic view! They also have a  bonfire and outdoor movie viewing that the hubby and I pleasantly enjoyed!

FOOD

Your only option for food when you are in the resort is through their restaurant. Dont worry though because their food is really good. We suggest you to try their Kare Kare and Lomi!!! 

All in all it was a pleasant experience for me and hubby! The resort’s mobile signal is poor and they do not have wifi so it was a perfect time to disconnect from the world and just relax. 

A few recommendations for the resort:
- Hot water for the glamping tent bathrooms
- provide umbrellas on each tent 
- provide bean bags or comfortable chairs around the bonfire and on the outside theater
- Board games and other activities since there is no signal and wifi in the resort
