I loved the resort. It felt like it was your own private resort.  The food was delicious and tasty. It had the 'home cooked' taste with fresh ingredients and rich flavor. The room was newly renovated and very clean. The pool was a salt water pool too and quite clean. Best of all, the staff was friendly, polite, and helpful. This is the best place to stay in Anilao... a wide frontage, near the reefs, charming lounge areas to sit and appreciate the view.

THAT HOMEY CHILL FEEL

We had a wonderful time at the resort. It was the second time for my husband and me, and this time we brought our family along. We all loved the place. It was so peaceful and relaxing, the food was great, and the staff were all so warm and accommodating. We weren't divers but we enjoyed snorkeling, kayaking, and swimming in the pool. The sunset was gorgeous. We'll be back again.

Very enjoyable stay

We had the chance to spent a month in Solana Dive Resort and, after few days, we already felt like home. 

We got in contact with Leslie, the reservations manager, who is extremely professional and easy going at the same time. For her, there are no problems, but solutions. Choy, the dive master, is definitely one of the best guides in the region, and no underwater creature managed to scape from his sharp gaze. Thanks to him, we managed to get extremely good footage. What to say about the rest of the staff, they are just extremely kind and always willing to help. 

In terms of logistics, the diving center is very practical. There is a big bak of water for the camera gear and a big table to adjust the equipment. The boats depart from the dive center, and the boatman with who they work are were helpful, caring our heavy equipment on and off every day. 

The resort itself is very confortable and beautifully decorated, with a choice for wooden furniture, trees to protect form the strong sun and plants everywhere to refresh the atmosphere. At night, they light up small warm lights, creating a very relaxing ambient. You get amazing sunsets every day too! We sailed all the Anilao coast while diving at the different spots, and we are convinced it is the most beautiful resort, blended in nature. If we come back to this region, we will definitely book again in Solana!

If you want to dive and/or relax, that's the place!

I recommend a cottage room in front row. Beds are comfortable and wide. The porch is excellent, wonderfully hot water in the shower. These rooms face the pool, and beyond that - the bay, with Sombrero Island punctuating the wide open waters.  You can kayak, you can walk with reef shark (many come and hang out on the reef near the restaurant.  My group went on four dives, I snorkelled in the four places - wonderfully rich underwater life.  I did get worked over by box jellyfish near sombrero Island (wear a body stocking to reduce being stung), but 50 hours later the stings itch/burn less and that has nothing to do with the resort.  The meals were excellent - a buffet with just the right amount of food so nothing is wasted. If you have a favorite dish the chef will make it (if it is local).  Each meal we had a choice of fish, vegetable, chicken and pork or beef with rice and soup. There is always lemen or other fruit infused water available to drink, and at tea time there were wonderful bananas in pancakes... there is so much to do and see/sea when staying here.  Note - 250 steps down from parking lot (and up).

Perfect Beach Stay

Second time (and soon the third time) visiting and this time with a crowd of four. No matter going there alone (my first time) or with a group, always feeling very welcomed. 

The Resort Overall: 
It was just so beautiful overlooking the islands from our beach front cottages. The resort also had nice shallow rocky beach front where black tips came and played in the afternoons. Clean, spacious and nice rooms, great food, super friendly staff and of course the spectacular dive master and the boat crew! Everyone in the resort knows exactly what to do and how to make the best out of everything. 

The Dive:
We are all advanced level divers (DM, instructor, tech diver etc.) and love underwater photography. The DM at the resort was just like a marine dictionary and knew pretty much about everything - names and habitat of the marine lives, currents, waves, and also photo taking skills e.g. how much light, which angel for what type of photos etc...The boat crew was also very professional and knew exactly how and when to support each diver. Just can't appreciate more than the DM and the boat crew offered.   

The Food: 
Daily breakfast, lunch and dinner were served to compensate our dive schedule. Always yummy and healthy. The last night we requested to have the traditional bulalo soup and it turned out that the chef made, on top of our request, a feast with all the fresh local ingredients. Really looking forward to coming back for more next time.

In addition, the logistics, airport pickup/drop-off were always very smooth. For divers who love macro, it's really a convenient place for a quick week-end escape. If having to name one thing I'd like to see the resort to improve is the water pressure - the shower water was not strong enough sometimes so if the management can think about installing some equipment to increase the shower water pressure then this place will be perfect.

Always feeling welcomed!

Visited this calm and beautiful resort during the weekday. Got great service and attention. Food was tasty and abundant. Anilao is a paradise and staying at Solana is a must. We saw the in house baby shark near the shore as well. 

Refresher Diving Course

Dive Solana is a hidden gem in Anilao. The place is newly renovated with cute interiors. Their rooms come with 3 buffet meals which I find so convenient. Their lunch buffet was probably the main highlight of my whole stay! The dessert (calamansi cheesecake I think) was superb. Also, I loved that the resort is not crowded with visitors and we almost had the whole place for ourselves. The staff were very attentive to our needs. We weren’t able to try scuba diving but it seems their equipments/gears are in good condition. Anyway, this is the place for you if you’re looking for a quiet getaway. Will come back for sure. 

Relaxing Stay

It was a great base for diving and snorkeling trips.  The team was friendly and accommodating. The rooms were very clean and well-kept.  Food was good, but they can improve the selection by offering more dessert 😊

Fun Family Holiday

This is a very friendly dive resort right on the beach as most are in this area. The rooms are comfortable and slightly better than some of the other resorts I've stayed at in the area. Their lounge area is really relaxing.

They brought in a dive master who was with us for two days and he was very good. There are some very good dive sites within a short banca ride. The boat boys were helpful and polite.

The food was pleantiful and when we asked for them to buy some fish at the market they were very accommodating. Not restaurant style quisine but you won't get that at any of the resorts in this area probably but after a day of diving it was just what you wanted. Not a big selection of drinks though so bring your own which they were quite comfortable with.

The bedrooms were large, slightly above basic but again totally adequate for a dive resort and comfortable enough. Get a beach front room if you can.

When we were there, there was only one other couple so it made the resort very homely and extremely relaxing.

Don't over eat though as you'll have to climb the 100 steps back up to the car park at the end of your visit!
