Gardens, pools and view beautiful.
Rooms exceptionally clean and comfortable.
Be aware there is no bar fridge to keep water, milk for tea and coffee and drinks cold.
Breakfast included was delicious and buffet selection adequate.
We agree with the “No Food Waste” policy, but to suggest that you would fine a guest for leaving food on the plate is absurd.
Food at the restaurant of a very high standard and a good mix of local and international choices.
Staff absolutely fantastic and a special mention to Mary for her outstanding service.
Complimentary Tuk Tuk service to Town Square very handy.
The only negative to our experience was observing on multiple occasions the rude and demeaning manner in which the male owner, whom hovered constantly, spoke to staff in front of guests.

We had a great time here - fabulous staff, beautiful location and great restaurant
We loved the layout of the hotel (3 separate pool areas), the staff were amazing, and we really appreciated the complimentary tuk tuks to town whenever we wanted to go in (although it’s only a 6-7 minute easy walk)
Restaurant food was excellent!

Great hotel for visiting El nido

The best hotel in El Nido town. It’s at the far end of town but they provide free tricycle drop offs and it’s in easy access to the island hopping tours. The room we had was small but had everything we needed and only used it to sleep in so it suited us. The air con wasn’t working when we arrived but they called the engineers straight away and had it fixed that evening for us. The views are beautiful, the staff are all really friendly and helpful and the food is absolutely amazing! Everything we ordered we enjoyed and the price was reasonable for the quality.
If we ever return to El Nido we won’t be booking anywhere else. Cadlao wins for us.

Beautiful hotel just outside El Nido town

The resort is located where its quiet enough to relax and not too far to walk to town (10 mins on leisure walk). Though the hotel provides free tuktuk drop off to town. In town, there are lots of nice bar and restaurants and the best part for us is there is a good gym as well as a nice spa and coffee shop called Rituals Coffee. The resort is only accessible by tricycle and not by van because of the very narrow road. So from the airport, dont make a mistake of booking a van because the van can only drive you to town. Upon exit from the airport, just walk outside and you will see the tricycle terminal. Theres a dispatcher who will assist you to get your ride and will also show a price list of their standard rates (which is Php350 to Cadlao Resort or about US$6.0).

ROOM: We booked the standard room “Apitong”. Its a few steps from the main entrance and a number of steps to the restaurant and pool area. Its a good size room with a balcony facing the garden. The a/c combined with a ceiling fan is a perfect combo that will give you a nice cool temperature to get a good night sleep. My girlfriend find the pillow a bit hard but for me it was perfect to get a good resting position since I normally use two pillows to get a nice head elevation, but here, I only needed one and never had any neck issues the next day. They provide beach, bath, gym and face towels which are consistently changed every morning when cleaning the room. The lighting is perfect for a romantic night but unfortunately not friendly for people with poor vision and will find it too dark especially when finding things around or in your luggage. I hope they can install adjustable lights where you can dim or make it really bright or perhaps add additional light by the dresser table. The safely box is made of wood (small treasure box style) fixed in the closet with padlock. I suggest you bring your own medium size padlock if you want to feel secured whilst leaving your valuables. They provide shower gel, shampoo and lotion plus the usual toothbrush, toothpaste, shower cap and small hair dryer. 

SERVICE: The hospitality exceeds a 5-star hotel service which we were not expecting from the beginning, Kaye was so lovely and accommodating in helping by giving suggestions on how to spend our inland tour for a day. She suggested that we rent a scooter (if we are comfortable or know how to ride a motorbike) instead of hiring a tuktuk (tricycle) which will turn out to be more expensive and can only have limited access to places that we want to go to. Kaye even arranged the scooter rental and managed to get a discounted rate for the whole day (from Php1000 to 800 - which is US$14.00). Indeed it was a fantastic suggestion, we managed to ride around and go to very remote places that no tricyle service can go. The best part was the freedom and no restrictions of time and locations, its just a great convenience. Another noteworthy is the female staff at the restaurant (too bad I forgot her name but you will never miss her because she always carry a wonderful smile and always asking hows everything). When she learned that our flight is in the morning and we need to leave around 6am the following day, she asked if we wanted her to arrange an early breakfast to go since the restaurant opens at 7am. We said we just needed a nice hot coffee, she guaranteed us that she will arrange it to have the coffee ready, hot and available at before 6am. True enough, it was ready at 6am. Since we packed early, we even have enough time to sit and enjoy our coffee. We even managed to request the kitchen staff to make us scrambled egg whites, bread and butter. When you're a frequent traveller and look for not too expensive places, small things matter. Those little things make the experience worthwhile, memorable, not to mention “value for money”.  So kudos to the whole Cadlao El Nido Resort team. Keep up the wonderful work and I trust that you will continue to be consistent with the legacy you are making to make an El Nido experience amazing!

The resort doesnt have a nice beach front. Its filled with shells, rocks and pebbles (but if they manage to sift the sand, it can make a big difference - Im sure guests will be encouraged to sunbathe by the beach front). Thats the only disadvantage I can say about it, however, the pool is a perfect spot to watch the beautiful sunset which is truly a gem to witness.

FOOD wide variety of choices, but dont miss out the chicken adobo as well as the catch of the day. We ordered the tanigue (white fish) cooked green curry style, it was amazing!

Highly recommended for great customer service, hospitality and accommodation.

WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE IN A HIDDEN GEM OF EL NIDO

We had two rooms booked for our party of six and stayed 5 nights at the resort.
Both the family room and the double room were located by pools, although we tended to stay at the bigger pool as this had the great views. We had adult children with us and they all loved the happy hour by the pool. Free cocktails!!  
Meals were good, the staff were excellent. You could not fault the service provided.
Location was perfect, a bit out of town, we didn’t mind at all. You had the resorts free Toktok on call, transporting you to and from the resort if needed or you could walk as it was not too far. There is also a tour booking service just outside the resort. We used this company and were very happy with the day out island hopping. 

Having read the previous reviews, l will address the water concerns raised - the resort provides multiple cold water refill stations for you to use free of charge. 

We really enjoyed this resort as it provided a great environment to relax, excellent views and the staff were amazing.

Great experience for family with adult children & teenagers

The hotel is very nice and the location is perfect. Far enough away from the busy parts of El Nido town but close enough to enjoy those parts with a brief 20 min or less walk or a tricycle ride. The property operated Tricycle don’t take you far but that’s not a problem as you can easily get one of your own from one of the locals offering that service. I stayed in the standard cottage which was perfect for me. Someone tall though may have a spacing issue on the toilet as the wall facing the toilet seat is very close. I actually made a mistake with my booking dates so the hotel had to remove my things from the room to honor another reservation. Even though this was an oversight on my behalf and a possible inconvenience to the property they remained kind helpful and accommodating. They didn’t even contact me to point out the error they simply help my belongings (which they packed for me) in the front office and allowed me to freshen up in the spacious bathroom there that includes a shower. This is the type of hospitality money can’t buy. My stay was already great but the customer service made it even greater. Not to mention the views from the resort are breathtaking. I highly recommend!

Amazing scenery cozy rooms and great staff

When visiting Palawan, Cadlao El Nido Resort should be your only option! I will never go to another hotel in El Nido ever again because Cadlao has it all: clean and comfortable accommodations, amazing amenities, delicious food, and most impressive of all, top-tier service.

Whether it’s the front desk, the restaurant, the tuktuk drivers, or housekeeping, the staff here is serious about delivering best-of-its-class customer service. I have never experienced kindness and attention the way I have at Cadlao. My stay at the resort marked a monumental moment in my life because I was proposed to here, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the help of the entire staff. Special shoutout to Kaye, Amiel, Monica, Kate, Nelda, and the fantastic chefs who made it perfect. It was the best moment of my life so far and I will never forget it or the people who made it happen.

Aside from the service, the property itself is stunning with beachfront views, several accessible pools no matter which room you’re in, and convenient amenities that make it so you never have to leave the resort if you don’t want to. Of course, if you do, they also have a complimentary tuktuk service that will bring you into and from town. 

There are so many other things I could go on and on about. Like the way I’ll never have food as good as Cadlao’s ever again or the way I’ve never felt as relaxed and welcome as I did here, but I’ll stop now or else I’ll go on forever.

Thank you for the visit of a LIFETIME, Cadlao. You’ve made my trip to the Philippines unforgettable. I’ll be back as many more times as I can 🩷

Cadlao is the only resort for me! 🥰🩷

While walking on this side of the island, we stopped into the Cadlao resort's restaurant for lunch and some drinks.  The food was excellent, fresh, and served quickly.  The staff were friendly, attentive, and professional.  View on the ocean is a plus.

A healthy, tasty lunch with excellent service

Cadlao Resort is a great choice for families. The family suites are tight for space, but they are a practical solution where parents and kids want a bit of separation, and they are not too expensive. The location is ideal for those who want the best of both worlds - seclusion, without being isolated. You can read about how this works in other reviews, so I won’t repeat here. The restaurant serves its purpose well, making the most of the view, whilst providing reasonably good food. However, there were a few Western dishes which missed the mark: notably a pesto pasta, where the pasta was  in fact spaghetti, and the pesto tasted of aniseed. An Italian couple we met said the same, and also lamented the  sugary spaghetti bolognaise they had experienced (it is common in the Philippines for sugar to turn up in up in all sorts of foods where you don’t expect it, indulging the local sweet tooth). There were strange food combinations too, such as chicken quiche, and eggs Benedict served served with onion. You may be better off sticking with the Filipino offerings. 

For us, Cadlao is the perfect size of resort: small enough to be intimate, large enough to have the facilities you require. The plot is quite small and you are certainly aware of other guests, which might put some people off. You need to go with the relaxed family atmosphere. Needless to say, the staff are absolutely delightful and highly attentive. 

We had a couple of issues. The air-conditioning in our family suite was noisy, registering about 50 dB. The condenser unit is suspended from the wall outside. The problem with this is that it is a couple of inches from your head when you lie on the bed, and because the cabins are partly of timber construction, the wall vibrates when the condenser kicks in. I got very little sleep on my first night as the condenser switched on and off at seven minute intervals (yes, I timed it - it gave me something to do whilst lying awake!). We survived by switching the air-conditioning off in our room and relying on the ceiling fan instead. This might not have been a comfortable option if the weather had been hotter. We reported it to reception and suggested a solution, which would be simply to mount the condenser units on the ground outside. They said they would take this advice on board. We will see! The other issue we had was a mixup over some spa reservations. However, the management were very apologetic, and I doubt this happens regularly. 

The big question - would we stay again? Absolutely - if  they fix the noisy aircon!

Happy home

Had a great stay at the Cadlao. Nice clean room with a pool right outside the doorstep and plenty of space to dry towels and snorkel gear on drying rack. Neat little resort with choice of multiple pool areas with the main pool having great views out towards the ocean. Breakfast each day was really enjoyable. Quiet location away from main strip but easily accessible with buggy transfers run by the hotel.
