It looks like it’s under construction and from previous reviews, it seems to be in such condition for quite some years. The hotel doesn’t have a sign outside so you’ll never notice it unless you ask the locals. The rooms have a horrible odour and the shower galley stinks like hell, not to mentions the number of broken plugs, switches and lights. To top it off, our bed had also bed bugs - utterly disgusting. 

We’ve done a big mistake not checking the reviews before booking. The location is great but the hotel is in a terrible mess. On a good note the breakfast is ok, they change the bed sheets once every 2 days and the staff is welcoming and helpful. On New Years Day the management organised a party and invited all guests at the hotel.

Friendly staff - disgusting rooms

We visited this hotel last Aug 13 - Aug 16 as part of a package tour that we found in Facebook. The pictures on the voucher that we received do not reflect the true state of the hotel. 

We arrived in El Nido around 1015PM and had a hard time finding this hotel because there isn't any visible sign outside their gates. There seems to be no security in the area. There were a lot of bystanders around the area which made us uncomfortable. We are not judgmental in any way however, because we are in an unfamiliar place with no one around aside from "tambays", we felt unsafe. It was hard to find the main gate because of the hardware supplies that are stored in their main driveway. I later learned that there is a hardware store beside the hotel and they use the front gate as their stockroom. 

The staff are nice and polite. They are very easy to talk to and seem to respond to our requests as fast as they can. They even let me refrigerate our bottled waters and other drinks. However, I feel they are severely understaffed hence, the receptionist has to often leave her post to help with cleaning or preparing for food for the guests.

Our room (Room 201) was a little bit clean when we arrived. We cant help but notice that the bed sheets were smelly and the closets were so dirty and smelly. The cleanest part of our room was the floor (which had dead insects) and the rest room. Our bed had insects on it too. The ceiling had these strange reddish brown dots, streaks, and marks. We were unable to identify what these marks were.

The internet worked well during our stay. I am thankful because I was still able to do some office work while we were there. The shower's water pressure was so weak. The faucet had stronger water pressure. The water from the bidet smelled like stagnant water.

The food was not so great. Everytime we ordered scrambled eggs, they would always bring sunny side ups. The tocilog tastes okay, as well as the bacon. The cornsilog was very salty, and the cheese pancakes were not tasty at all.

It was noisy in the afternoon to early evening as there were construction workers working on the building beside our room and the renovations on the third floor. We were able to sleep peacefully in the evening regardless.

I can only give points to this hotel for it's helpful staff, the beautiful pictures we saw from the tour agency's voucher and its proximity to the El Nido tourist strip.



Not So Big on Amenities

Very disappointed with the place. False Ad, staffs were very rude and acting like they don't care if they will lose a customer because they can always find another ,mosquitoes and insects everywhere, stressful place all in all.all they really want is money from you. I suggest you check out their terms and condition to make sure.Totally not a good place to stay.You can find much better place with reasonable price when you get there.

Very DISAPPOINTED!!

First day checked in went for some activities during day at night no electricity, no hot water, no internet, most importantly no air conditioning.
Next day asked about all of things not working was told generator could not keep up with demand, strange as lights in room worked but no air conditioning and no hot water.
After days activities came to dirty room never cleaned and still no hot water,air conditioning or internet. Next morning asked why room was not cleaned was told room only cleaned every other day so asked for fresh towels upon which I was told you have to pay for fresh towels. I asked for refund and was refused by manager I left for center of island and stayed the night upon returning to big creek mansion they had rebooked my room to some other people again refused refund again.
I produced confirmation number and email showing room paid for for 6 nights still no refund.
STAY AWAY!

Big creek Mansion Big waste of your money

At first, I was hesitant to book at this hotel because of the poor review, but then I give it the benefit of the doubt since I have experienced things like this before. So I booked for a three night stay last May. It turns out, the place is okay and looked very new. It is not so far away from the many shops. Booking was done by depositing one night equivalent to our stay which is fine with me and even more reassuring. The only problem at the place was their internet connection. It was very slow considering that they only use the mobile pocket wifi. Considering the number of guests, they should upgrade, but over-all, our stay was okay and the place is affordable.
