The best thing about this place is the restaurant and dive centre next door.  As soon as we checked in we went there.  We had booked 2 nights but 1 was enough.  The trek from El Nido is not worth it.  The accommodation was well passed its best and the bedding was stained and dirty.  Staff at reception seemed lost.  We are used to staying in hostels and are not after luxury but this is just sad.  Don't waste your time to get here.

Grim.  Stay somewhere else.

We ate dinner here one night (we stayed next door), and found prices twice that of our place, portions half as big and cockroaches crawling all over the place out of the wooden deck. We ate as fast as we could with our feet up on the chairs, then went back to our place to eat a second, better, cheaper dinner. Also, the girl at the table next to us was covered in bites that she said she got from her bed. Like I said, we didn't stay here, but I'm very happy we booked elsewhere!

Cockroaches!

We were staying here for two nights and we couldn‘t complain. The service was top and the boy at the reception was always there and ready to help. We stayed at a in beach cotton, wich was very big with it‘s own bathroom. Everything was very clean and tidy and view was amazing.
There was also a small restaurant and a bar, so you could always eat and drink. The food was good. We loved it here, thank you Tapik!

Idyllic Guest House at the beach

I was about to stay there 2 nights only but the place and the people there kept me much longer. Incredible sunrises, ocean, cute nearby village, nice food and kayaking are just a few things. Perfect place to unwind and relax; this spot also seems to gather great people only.

Special thanks to Charles and Estelita who made my stay there. I wish every place have staff like they are. Always kind and funny and always ready to help (especially others :D). They definitley know how to make you feel at home.

Best kingdom in the area

This place is an hour and a bit from the El Nido airport and the town. Though it's distance, if you're looking for a chilled place to go, then this place is it. Though there's no electricity in the rooms from 6am till 6pm, we were hardly in the rooms anyways as we were on the island tours or checking out other local spots. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and offered suggestions on what to do and where to go. Would definitely come back.

Great isolated from El Nido town

But they have battery powered light, no Smart network signal, globe and other network no idea..
Food is ok... fair prices...the way to the guesthouse is rough so be prepared, comfort rooms need a makeover. cleanliness 5/10, customer service is 7/10.. the guesthouse owner is very accommodating and understanding.. 
By the way, if u have knees medical issues.. I think u should get a lower level of guestroom or kubo.. because the rooms are up on the hill...

Wonderful getaway

This is yet another reminder for me that all reviews are subjective. This seems to be the most popular resort in Sibaltan and most reviewers are raving about it, so I booked. Their website is also filled with lots of useful information and their response time was ok.

When I got there, I found that everything was average quality. Rooms had a rustic vibe, which I actually liked. Problem was the lights inside are too dim. At night, it's hard to find my stuff around. I hope they replace it with higher wattage lamps and not cheapen out on things that matter to guests.

Staff was also average. There was usually just 1 person manning the front desk and he got too busy to attend to the needs of all guests. I did not feel any sincerity that they care about their customers. They probably need to hire more staff.

Food was also just average. Tried different dishes and didn't remember any memorable ones.

Worst part was our boat breaking down while we were on an island. Not sure who's to blame, but they need to perform maintenance on their boats so as not to ruin people's holiday. I did not ask for compensation but if they care enough, they should initiate.

I am not being finicky here as I have been to other rustic-themed resorts in the country. I can tell when it's really rustic or just not well-maintained or well-designed.

I do not get the rave reviews

Took the time off for a solo vacation and I went to the right place, at Tapik Beach Park. It‘s location is really for those seeking solace next to the sea and far away from busy El Nido. The best thing in this beach park aside from its location, are the people working there and its owner. Thanks so much to Jake, Kim, Lorie, Kathy and of course to the boatmen Benjie, Gerry and Angga.

It was easy to book via a third party app.
I arrived in the evening but was picked up from the road. It is quite challenging to arrive in the evening because it is dark going down to the guest house. Jake picked me up with a scooter. Do not bring a luggage with wheels when you come here, not advisable.

I was shown my room by Lorie and Kathy and asked to be shown a different room. Moving to a bigger room was a breeze.
Downside here is that electricity is off at 6pm, but I find that adding to the feeling of being in a secluded place-so tolerable.  It could get hot after some hours for those used to being in colder weathered countries.

Breakfast was quickly served as well as lunch and dinner. They do not have a big variety (less than 10 on the menu), but what they serve for breakfast, lunch and dinner is really enough for the island life.
Fish, and meat, all were delicious.  If you are afraid of dogs putting their paws on your legs while you eat at the restaurant, beware.  I like dogs so I enjoyed it.

There is a pull table, local billiard game that guests could enjoy. I had fun playing there with other guests and staff plus the hammocks facing the sea are so inviting. A nap there on afternoons is highly recommended or reading a book.

There are no shampoos, soap etc in the rooms so bring your own. Shower’s water pressure is fine. Bed was also comfortable.

The taste of paradise is their island hopping tour which starts at 9am and ends forever in your heart. 5 uninhabited islands, with snorkeling and lunch is simply unforgettable.  

Only downside is the booked transportation from El Nido to another town. It was not communicated to me that I will have to ride on a scooter somewhere near to my destination. I had fun as a passenger on the scooter anyway. It is just a common practice in El Nido and other neighboring towns to take passengers from hotels so expect a lot of drop off points and a longer ride.

Suggestion to the owner who was so kind, understanding and accommodating: please do not let your guests leave without having settled their bills (more payment options like mastercard, visa card etc.) should be available.

I would definitely come back to see the lovely staff of Tapik and for another island hopping tour ;)



Peaceful place with a paradise experience

We were here last year and again this year. Although the accommodation, bar and beach are all up to standard we noticed that the meals were getting smaller, but still tasty. As more and more people visit Sibaltan the GH has increased in size. OK to stay here , nothing outstanding and nothing disappointing except for the food.
