We stayed here on a short stay in El Nido. The place was in a wonderful location and the staff were extremely accomadating and very friendly. The rooms were very clean. I would highly recommend you stay at this place. It has a great relaxing vibe, with great views.

Paradise

Sophia’s Beach Guest House is a lovely place, literally on Corong-Corong beach and very close to town. The rooms are good and the breakfast is delicious.

Most importantly of all, the host Mel and her team are outstanding. They gave us fresh coconut juice, organic papayas grown from their own farm, and Mel helped us organise so many excellent tours and transfers at short notice - even after we had checked out of the hotel. She is helpful, responsive and resourceful, knowing many contacts for arranging local trips. Thank you for all your help Mel!

Lovely hotel and outstanding host!

This place was disgusting! Hotel looked great in pictures but looks nothing like it in person. They want you to be barefoot when you walk in but the floors were dirty especially the upstairs and in the rooms. The walls are so thin you can hear people talking next door and people sweeping outside. When you open the window you see the roof and clothes hung to dry. The tissue role on the bed had spider nesting. When you flush the toilet, there is a funky sewage smell that comes out. First floor rooms may be nice but not the upstairs. If you’re a foreigner you’ll probably get the nice rooms but us Filipinos get the nasty rooms thanks to the person who booked us we now have this info to share to family and friends. Beach house sounds nice because you have a nice view but you can’t even go swimming there. The water dispenser also didn’t have cold water. If you’re a guest there who has a tour the ends later and you’re forced to check out early, don’t expect to be special, they have you shower outside or offer you the maid’s bathroom which is not any better than the nasty bathroom in your room. Please go somewhere else!!!!

Upon arrival your asked to remove any footwear and leave on a rack by the door.  The reception desk is crawling with ants my wrists got bitten alive whilst completing the paperwork.  When asking about breakfast I was told it was not included although it clearly stated on agoda that it was.  Fortunately agoda reimbursed all the money for the breakfast after contacting them when we arrived.  

The deck where breakfast is served is rotten with great big holes which are very dangerous and again crawling with ants.  

The rooms themselves were clean and comfortable.

Great location in corong corong beach, just a bit further down is a new upcoming street full of sunset bars and food establishments.  

This place needs a bit of TLC and spruced up and they would have a little gem.

Needs some TLC

Do your self a favour, and do not stay here.  We had booked 3 nights, and only stayed one night,  it was too disgusting to stay longer.  I actually slept in my clothes so we could get out first thing.  The toilet in the bathroom leaked sewage each time it was flushed, and that smelly mess leaked across the floor in front of the sink into the shower area.  The entire place place stunk.  The bedding and towels were thread bare, and the mat for the bathroom was filthy. The towel racks in the bathroom were missing so many screws they were hanging lopsided and you couldn't have used them.
The staff were sweet, and gracious, and appeared embarrassed when we told them we were leaving due to the unsanitary conditions.  The one positive is that the hotel is right on the beach.

it's a dump

We decided to stay at Sophia’s Guest House in El Nido which had good reviews on AirBnB (4/5).  

The Good: 
-pretty reliable WiFi
-beach front (the ocean is 5 feet away)
-its very affordable and breakfast is included (the pineapple pancakes were delicious).  

The Bad: 
-not the most conversational English-speaking staff
-there are lots of flys, knats, spiders, ants and the occasional gecko in the rooms and bathrooms
-the bathrooms smell rancid (you can't throw toilet paper in the toilets FYI)
-the hot water is unreliable 
-the staff tries to keep the lobby clean there is a lot of sand and water trekked throughout that invariably gets into your room.  

This place sounds like a charming guesthouse that’s beachfront but it feels much like an unkempt hostel.  I just felt unclean the entire time.  My recommendation is stay elsewhere.

Affordable Beachfront Property in El Nido but lots of Bugs

Sophia's Beach Guest House was a pleasant stay although the location and the sunsets were the only benefits to staying there. The staff could have been more friendly and our room was not cleaned at all during the four nights we stayed there. We had breakfast included but ended up having it elsewhere as their breakfast was not worth it. The room was comfortable with good air conditioning but the bathroom could have been better. Overall this was an average experience.

Good location

Arrived late on the night , booked last minute , what a surprise when we woke up , ten ft away was the sea and beach fantastic position, amazing views , room was clean and basic , free breakfast you order for a time and it’s cooked for you ,only a basic breakfast , no safe or tv in room but great view , as ac , five minutes to down town al nido , seven paso on trickle , would stay again just for the position , staff and owner very helpfull

Good place 

We had booked several nights but was so disappointed we left after only one night. The first room we were given had a distinct smell of fungus. 
The next room on the first floor had walls made of paper! You could hear EVERYTHING and we didn’t get any sleep that night. 

The staff was never very helpful and we couldn’t get a refund.

Just chose something else, especially with the price. Way to expensive for what you get! 

Very disappointing and not worth the price

The charm of this hotel is that it is right on the beach with gorgeous views.  The beach is littered with trash, and walking along it is hazardous unless you have shoes.  There are a few local shops and restaurants around but not much choice.  Breakfast was okay but not great, and our beachside room opened up on to a public walkway with no privacy. The staff were inattentive and seemed to be more interested in their cell phones than in their customers.  Our stay here was disappointing and not worth what we paid.
