As the title says, I arrived an hour early for the 2pm check in and requested for an early check in. The staff + supervisor wouldn’t let me. So I asked how much I need to add to be accommodated for an early check in -I was immediately given my room card. So despite the room being available, they wouldn’t let me have an early check in even for a mere hour. Everything was all about money. My sleep quality in the deluxe room was terrible as I could hear the TV and the loud music from the other room all night long. The sound proofing was terrible. I ordered room service food (yang chow for P120) and the one served to me didn’t look anywhere near the yang chow from the photo in the menu. It tasted like I was eating plain rice (kinda looked like burnt rice, not yang chow at all). I could have ordered plain rice for P40 instead of wasting P120 on a yang chow that didn’t look and taste anything like yang chow.

I’ve always checked in here during Xmas and New Year but this has by far the worst experience I’ve ever had here.

Everything was all about money…

I walked in to check-in but all rooms are occupied but I was given a priority number because they were expecting some guests to check out.  Receptionist was kind and courteous. Room just undergone renovation and was clean.  Location of the hotel is along the highway thus easy to get a ride.

Quick Stay

Whenever we went on a family get away, we always check in at Hotel Sogo to spend the night. In general, it is very clean & smell good. The staff is very accomodating. Budget friendly & tasty food. Although the wifi is very slow, we still enjoy our stay.

Very clean

We stayed at Sta. Rosa SOGO 6 times within a month. In different drive-in Executive rooms. Every time they do have multiple issues: either jacuzzi not working, or TV is glitching, or small cleanliness issues. On a last time we stayed at Tatami room which was the only room available and had no hot water. The staff was coming and checking the water which was confirmed to be cold. We spoke with supervisor who checked and said that there is an issue with a pipe but the water will be warmer soon. It did not become warmer for the next two nights. We called the reception and they gave us a 20% discount , which did save us some money but did not resolve the problem. We were told by staff that the water temperature is the same all over the hotel but I know it's not true since we were staying in other rooms before. 

The only reason we stay at Sogo is because of safe parking below your room and the amenities they provide such as jacuzzi which you will never get anywhere else for the same price. But I cAnt even enjoy that now. Hotel Sogo is always a lottery - you never know which issues you will have in your room. 

A lot of issues

Free two bottles of branded mineral water. That's the best thing.

WiFi didn't work despite staff restarting the router or joining another access point. Had to ask cleaner to clean up tub again, as it was filthy. 

They guaranteed food are delivered within 10 mins, otherwise is free. Food delivered after 16 minutes. We've met all their conditions (refer to attached). Alas, despite our protest, no free food. Their excuse: 10 minutes is delivery from kitchen to room. What the heck?

Free Bottled Water and Filthy Tub

Few hours after checking out I realized I left my jacket in the room so I called the hotel, they just asked for my contact number and said they will check the room. I didn't receive any calls that day. I called again the following day, asked for my contact number again. But sad to say I didn't get my jacket back :(

It was just disapointing that they will not return something you have left in the room so better be careful of your things.

Disapointed

The room is enough to accommodate 3-4 persons. With small dining table, sofa and a bathtub. Sadly we took the room for 4 person, but they only gave us towel for 2 and no other toiletries were provided. We ordered room to be delivered in our room, they did but the food is either cold or rushed warm. The electric kettle in the room have trash in it. No cr trash bin and the bed in wet.

Regency Suite 2

On the roadside between Manila and TAGAYTAY, the usual look of SOGO hotels but disappointed by the hospitality and the rooms.
