The good: resort is very tropical, nice environment, hot water in the bathroom

The bad: out of the way, almost an hour from the main siquijor port, road construction causing loud noise, resort was empty (no other guests), had an extra person which we are more than willing to pay a reasonable amount for, but was charged almost half a room rate for him to sleep on the floor, when asking the manager (owners wife) she was very rude and defensive about it. Basically felt like she charged us way more than reasonable because I’m a foreigner. Also Wi-Fi is almost unusable and there is very little cell reception.

Overall I would not recommend for any foreigner as they will try and take you for as much money as they can.

My wife and I visited Kalachuchi  in March with our little dog . The resort was perfect for us as we like isolation and to get away from the crowds . The owner Marcel is a gem and looks after his guests as do the staff . Attention to detail is everywhere . We and some other guests nearly got stuck on the island because of the Covid 19 Virus lockdown , Marcel could not have done anymore than he did to help us all and keep us informed of the situation and was graceful enough to return money for our room as we had top cut short our break . I look forward to visiting again to have an uninterrupted break in this fantastic resort .

We had a great stay in this fantastic resort

The pictures really do reflect how good this place is. Excellent helpful staff and service, great rooms, great food (the signature mango curry is excellent and there is a good range of options to choose from at great prices), table tennis, pool, trampoline, outdoor chess, and a really nice pool. This is a place to relax and get away from it all during the time when not exploring the many waterfalls and beaches on the island (the beach off the resort is not great).
Rent a scooter (350php per day) and drive to all the places on the island, you are probably talking a max of 45 minutes to everything dependent on how you drive (watch out for the dogs and chickens!)

As previous people have said it is on the other side to all the restaurants and bars therefore you can either scooter (this is pretty hairy at night due to random animals in the road) or get a trike (500 php one way), again it takes about 45 minutes. However if you are looking to go out every night to eat and hit the bars, rather than enjoy the food and relax at the resort this is not the place for you.

Amazing place to stay if you are looking to get away from it all and relax.

I was staying in a different area of the island and was traveling around by scooter checking resorts. They received me warmly even if I was just there for lunch, and for a very small and insignificant fee, let me enjoy their pool and waterfront. Kalachuchi's dining area and swimming pool is even more attractive in person than in the internet! The pasta's portion was generous and well-prepared; I would have returned again if only I stayed more days in Siquijor.

Day Visit

Since friends of us have been before to Siquijor and had mixed experiences with their hotels, we invested a lot of time for research and decided to give Kalachuchi Resort a try. 
It was one of our best decisions in the Philippines. The small resort is well-maintained and the staff is lovely. They helped us to organize scooter (for a reasonable price) and take care for any additional wishes. The cottages are beautiful and with bed up- and downstairs usable for families. Additionally the cottages are very well isolated - so you the air inside is perfect. 
The restaurant offers a good breakfast and dinner for reasonable prices. Only disadvantage is they don‘t accept any credit cards so you must have enough cash at the checkout. 


Perfect place for Siquijor

resort is located in the far side of the island (northeast), approx 30 minutes away from siquijor port, and 45 from san juan where most of the action is. we did not encounter any problems during our 3 night stay which brings me to say they run their operations pretty ok. food took quite some time to serve, as this is normal in small island resort operations.. overall the ops was run in simple, rustic fashion.
irks. the resort is just damn too far from the center. and the resto in the resort closes at 8pm and there arent any go to places nearby. youre basically isolated once youre back at the resort. we ended up spending long tiring days, having dinners in san juan after our island tours before heading back to the resort around 10,11pm.
if peace and solitude is what youre after then this could be your resort. but if you prefer to be closer to the action i suggest to check out the other resorts down in san juan. 
Gving this 3 out of 5 stars. enjoyed our stay overall but would most likely try another resort on our next visit for the sake of convenience.

nice but far

We read “go before everyone finds out about this place!” An dot is definitely true! Kalachuchi is a Gem on the island - quiet, peaceful, clean, beautiful, with the most helpful and smiley staff. 

The food was gorgeous; we enjoyed 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners overlooking the pool and the service was perfect. The 2 owners are incredibly friendly and go out of their way to help in whatever way they can. We rented mopeds and drove around the island and had the most wonderful time. 
If you’re thinking of booking - do it.

Stayed at the Kalachuchi for two weeks.
As remote Siquijor island is, I really had no expectations...
The property is magical, the bungalows are beautiful, spacious, very comfortable. (The owner is from Switzerland after all:)
The setting of the pool and the restaurant is perfect.
If you need a place to disconnect and learn to just be, this is the place!
They do have Wi-Fi and air conditioning in the rooms.
The breakfast is simple but delicious, they even have Nespresso.
The staff is super friendly and not in your face.
Marcel the owner will go out of his way to please.
Yep, I will return to the Kalachuchi:)
