Great place to stay and eat. Talk to the owner and get the story about the old wooden ship and where the cannons came from. Make sure to ask him about the area during COVID, it's a great story  The museum is great and it is just down the street from the beach resort.

Vascos is a Definite Repeat for us

I haven't stayed in the accommodation but we made several visits there whilst in the area, as we always do when in Subic. All food and drinks are really good plus an interesting view and conversations can be had. 

The place for food and drinks

I have not stayed in the hotel, but have eaten in the restaurant three times; twice for breakfast, once for dinner. The food is overall pretty good. Aside from Filipino favorites, they also have a full array of meals that will feel like home to Australians and Americans as well. I am hooked on the steak and eggs breakfast. Good food, better prices. 

The wait-staff is excellent, and you can tell they are accustomed to the "quirks" of Westerners. The restaurant and bar are on a pier over Subic Bay, and the old maritime vibe is pretty relaxing.

Out of the way gem!

Worst service. Too slow. It took 1h 45mins to serve 5 dishes which were not hard to prepare as they were usual Filipino food. Servers kept extending the time and kept making excuses (weekend, chef is sick, guests arrived at the same time). Manager was very hard to find and came only after i repeatedly demanded for her presence. Food was served cold and the taste was average/below average. I was also able to see how they washed their utensils while I was talking to the manager near the kitchen and they were doing it really haphazardly and were not washing and rinsing the spoons and forks individually. 
There were 3 other irate customers who were upset and shouting at the servers while I was talking to the manager because of long waiting time, cold and poorly cooked food and inattention of servers. 
If you’re going to go here, you might be in for a big disappointment. Be sure you have more than 2-3hrs extra time as it will take nearly 2 hrs to get your food. 
Will NOT come back here and definitely NOT recommending this place to anyone

One of the best views on subic bay. Just awesome sunsets.... really worth the effort to visit. 
Bur the staff is undermanned and under trained.
The food is ok menu has never changed in all the years that I have been going....

Million Dollar view ten dollar service

Stayed at first floor seafront rooms (rooms 17-20). The hotel was kind enough to even setup a whiteboard for us in our al fresco work area right in front of our rooms. The rooms are spacious & clean. Lots of tabletop space. There's a TV, safe, mini-ref, alcohol dispenser, airconditioning, ceiling fan. The bathroom has an overhead rainfall shower and handheld option, toilet has bidet. The restaurant is open air, the servings are hearty. Vasco's is also the perfect spot to catch your Bay Marine Subic boat for a sunset cruise after a day of brainstorming.

Perfect place for business planning weekend

Vasco's is a quaint, rambling establishment with seating for approximately 50 diners. The ambiance is nice, with the main seating area overlooking Subic Bay. The views are extraordinary. We were a party of four on our first visit. We were seated promptly and ordered Lemon Squash and Sprite. When the drinks arrived we indicated we were ready to order our meal. The waitress seemed a bit hesitant, like she wasn't prepared. We ordered two burgers, a taco, and a spicy curry. After 25 minutes we were starting to get anxious about not having received our food yet. It did finally arrive, with no comment from the waitress. While eating I attempted to get the waitresses attention for another Lemon Squash, but she wasn't reading her guests and never looked at me. Several times she passed our table without inquiring if we were happy with the food or if we needed anything. Note: this is quite typical for the Philippines. The food was satisfactory. Their tacos are huge and the curry was quite good. While there, check out the many artifacts from the nautical adventures of the owner. If you hadn't caught it, Vasco's is named after the Portugese explorer Vasco da Gama.

Food Quality Ok, Service Slow

Food very so so and somehow on expensive side,unfriendly ,dull personnel .Nice views of commercial side Subic Bay,breeze through the open restaurant ,entire place with so call Marine hystory objects is a joke and void of any value.

Last week lunch

We ate there last Friday. We met and had an interesting running conversation with Brian Homan, the Australian diver and owner of Vasco's. Brian is the pioneer of underwater archaeology in the Philippines. According to him, he also founded the first dive shop in the country (in Puerto Galera, Mindoro island).

The restaurant is full of nautical and diving memorabilia. Plus it has a great view of Subic Bay. It's a very nice place to spend a long leisurely meal over. We ordered Thai Combination Chicken and Curry Chicken. Their prices were reasonable and the service was good.Phreatic and other types of volcanic eruption.

We would go back.

Pleasantly delightful lunch

Mainly local food and variation and standard does fluctuate a bit. The view and location is stunning. Right by the sea in fact on a wooden pier. Natural breeze. Great to watch sunrise/sunset. Service was quick and efficient but it was an off-peak lunchtime!
