My son and I planned to spend about 5 days here then move to another area of the lovely Tatra Mountains.  But we were so surprised by the five star lovely dragon house, it's quiet setting, the lovely fields, birds and view of the mountains and of course how fine it was to interact with Richard and Tatianna who were so kind, thoughtful and helpful with suggestions for the area.  We landed in luxury and stayed nearly ten days quietly recovering from our daily hikes and adventures.   All the rooms are fine with great beds, excellent kitchens and luxury bathrooms and views.  We will definitely return!

The Great Dragon House at Dom pod Smokami

Very convenient location - close to many restaurants and shops but very quiet (the end of the street). Fantastic views from balcony and terrace. Well equiped kitchen. Very good Wi-Fi. Parking places for all guests. Very friendly hosts. Decoration of the interiors creates Unique atmosphere, more a house than a hotel 😀 Lovely dogs and cats. Good starting point for trips in the surrounding mountains. Not far from bus stop.

Magic place with friendly hosts, marvelous views, perfect location

We booked an apartment with a large terrace on the first floor, but on arrival, we found out that such a room is unavailable to us and we received an apartment on the second floor with a small balcony in the bedroom. The owner explained that she did not know anything about it, despite the fact that the phrase "apartment with a terrace" was mentioned several times in the correspondence, the title of the bank transfer and the return e-mail from the owner. We also received a very straight forward proposal to refund the costs if this replacement does not suit us. I am very disappointed with the approach to the customer and because of the lack of guarantee of receiving what you paid for, I do not recommend the pension Pod Smokami.
As far as the rooms are concerned, they are clean, decorated in a minimalist way but with a very good taste. The view is an undoubted advantage. I do not recommend the apartments on the top, because they do not differ from the many available in Bukowina. In this price range - not worth it. At the disposal of guests is a very small kitchenette, dishes calculated according to the number for 4 people, towels for the entire stay (not exchanged), garbage bag pcs 1 and a small sweeper to grasp 70m2.
Outside there is a playground with a sandpit, next to a steep slope at the bottom of which there are reinforcing wires crooked in a way that does not give a chance to anyone who will fall down on them.

Out of town ...

I had a really wonderful time while staying in B&B "Dom pod Smokami".   We shared an apartment with mountain views, we enjoyed spectacular sunrises over the mountains from our deck.   Breakfast were served in our room and there was more than plenty for two persons.   Then we had dinner delivered from a nearby restaurant called "Szymkówka" and the food was delicious.   The are hiking trails around the B&B so you can take walks every day.   
Over all I highly recommend that place for those who know how to appreciate the place and the views and for those who truly want to relax in a serene environment.

Beautiful place with awesome views

Great location, wonderful views, antique furniture. Breakfast was very good. If you want some peace and quiet and pleasant atmosphere this place is great.
Owner is a well known Polish writer. Spa is nearby about one km away.

luxurious mountain cottage

- Cleaning of the rooms is not made. You should do it by yourself.
- No change of towels
- WiFi signal is very weak, the Internet is very slowly
- Car parking and yard, where children are walking on snow is not cleared.
- Staing in the hotel is dangerously, particularly for families with children. In our room there was a fire due to faulty wiring. Lucky that did not burn down the house and killing people. During the construction of the hotel is not met fire safety measures: halogen lamps, which are very hot, are built right into a wood. Halogen lamps, hanging on wires from the overhead lights. No fire extinguishers.
- Hotel owner is rough (she's living on the 2-d floor):
1. boorish attitude to guests (not only to us, neighbors also complained)
2. after the fire, refused to change the towels that smelled fumes and soot
3. personally throw out our things out of the room while we were outside
4. broke into the room without knocking or permission
5. turn off the heating in our room
etc.
- We will never go to this hotel and do not recommend to anyone, but we liked Poland very much and we'll be back, but in this hotel never! Be carefull: this hotel is dengerous and rough owner!
