It's 4 bus stops from the old town or 20 minutes on foot. Standard hotel, with standard furniture, bathroom - acceptable but nothing special. Price is acceptable (160 zł/ double + 15 zł/person breakfast). I didn't eat breakfast there - I can recommend Jewish restaurant Mandragora in the old town.

Standard hotel

To begin with, I couldn’t actually find this hotel as I hadn’t expected it to be so far from the main city centre on foot, and that it was even further than the university along the main Al Raclawickie Road. That said, it was a nice hotel and, at 150 zl a night for one person in a twin-room (15 zl extra for breakfast), it was much cheaper than all the others I checked out along the way (Vanilla: €70+; Mercure: 250 zl; Waksman Hotel: 200 zl for one person per night). 

I arrived at 7.40pm on a July evening without prior reservation and stayed for two nights in total. My room – number 22 – was spacious, airy, with windows that could be flung wide-open. There’s no air-con or fan, but the evening breeze did the job to cool the place down. Nor is there a fridge, but there is free wi-fi through the hotel. TV had Polish channels only. Visa cards accepted. The staff were friendly, and the younger ones all speak some English.

The only problem I encountered was the lack of hot water on the first night – apparently the boiler in nearby Room 20 went off or something. Anyway, that was rectified the next morning and the 24-hour hot water thereafter was excellent, and the shower pretty good. 

Breakfast cost 15 zl extra, and was well worth it due to the wide selection of cold cuts and cheeses available, as well as made-to-order scrambled eggs and Polish sausages. 

Naturally, Location could be better, but the main city centre/Lublin Plaza and Old Town can easily be reached by the 5, 18 or 57 buses which stop right outside the hotel (the journey takes about 5-7 minutes or about 25 minutes by foot), as does the 150 trolleybus which reaches the train station, and 158 that goes direct to Majdanek for the concentration camp.

Amenities aren’t great after dark with virtually no shops opened nearby for food or drinks. The nearest Zabka convenience stores are located behind the university about 10-15 minutes away by foot, but they close at 11pm. Then again, the whole of Lublin doesn’t seem to be a great place to buy food or drinks after about 9pm when all the shops are closed and only restaurants and bars remain opened.

All in all, the Mlyn is a cheap, comfortable and fairly decent option in Lublin if visiting for a day or two.

Bit far out from the city centre - but great value

This is quite new hotel, 1,5 years old and offers clean, decent, spacious rooms close to Lublin Old Town. As in Lublin you do not find many hotels, most of those are overpriced, this one was the only below 40eur / night / room. Breakfast is also ok, free wifi in the room and parking for free. You can either walk (15min) or take a electric bus (in Polish "trolejbus").

Minusy: 1. Brak klimatyzacji przy oknie od ulicy dwupasmowej ulicy - możne być uciążliwe w lecie. 2. Poduszki strasznie duże i nabite, na 3 możliwe guziki, tylko po jednym na każdą poduszkę. 3. Kolanko w umywalce przecieka, kapie na podłogę. 4. Na dwie lampki nocne, tylko jedna świeci. 5. Pokój nie jest sprzątany codziennie (ręcznik, kosz, szklanka ) - mam nadzieję, że jutro ktoś zajrzy 6. Mydło w dozowniku stanowczo zanadto rozwodnione. 7. Woda w kranach ciepła, ale nie ma szans na gorącą kąpiel 8. Nawet jak przyjedzie się w środku nocy trzeba dopełnić wszelkich formalności - Płatność z góry

Plusy: 1. śniadanie zróżnicowane i, jak potrzeba, można porządnie zjeść. 2. Internet bezprzewodowy z podziałem na piętra - działa dobrze. 3. Bezpłatny parking 4. Do centrum stosunkowo blisko

Ja tu nie wrócę i znajomym odradzę, myślę, ze można chyba znaleźć coś innego.

Drogo w stosunku do jakosci

Ugly room, the room is not clean from the beginning (floor was dirty, the smell in room was not fresh, damaged walls, dry urine on the bed !!!), we don't really know what were exactly doing the cleaning women, because they seemed to be tied up with something on the corridor, but for sure this has nothing to do with cleaning, because after 3 days they didn't entered once in the room to do their job. No phone !!!

About internet :
Youtube is blocked, loading a single page on google request about 45 seconds. On the evening, situation is simpler: No Internet.

The worst hotel I've ever seen in my all life !
