This is a new small hotel opened in 2013 located in renovated palace originally built in mid 19th century. The owners, with help of EU money, did great job with the renovation. The place is very clean, has comfortable rooms, new infrastructure (although heating in the room when turned on was bit noisy). It is surrounded but nicely kept small park.
In terms of the quality of building itself, you can’t ask for more. Particularly as the prices were very affordable.
Its a pity though that the place does not seem to be very successful in attracting guests. The place was almost empty – strange during extended weekend in early May when hotels are packed in Poland. I do appreciate having available rooms with short notice and staying in very peaceful place, but on the negative side their wellness spa was not really functioning. They have spa infrastructure, but to get massage the hotel need to call for external massagist, who was available just for one day and not available for two others. The hotel also has a sauna, but you need to pay extra and ask to turn it on at least one hour before using.
Breakfast was a basic cold buffet but sufficient. We did not try restaurant – it had good healthy looking menu, but we were concerned that being almost empty they don’t cook very often. On the minus there is also little to do outside the hotel.
So all in all we can certainly recommend Grudynia Palace for those seeking comfortable, middle of the nowhere type of place to relax. But if you look for weekend in a livelier hotel with fully functioning wellness section – Grudynia might not be the best choice.

Comfy, clean, peaceful but feels bit empty

A great place in a very peaceful location. An old mansion (palace) renovated into a fantastic hotel - genuine 4 star standard. Superb food and very helpful staff.
Unbeatable value for money  - £16 per person for B&B - you would pay at least £80 in the UK for a similar hotel. 
Strongly recommended. Everybody from our group (22 people) liked this place - voted the best one we stayed in during our cycling ride through Poland.
