The one positive of the hotel is it's location, right off the Market Square, however, since Świdnica is totally walkable (10 minutes to the Church of Peace, etc) and since all the establishments, except for one, on the Market Square roll up by 10:00PM on a Saturday night, there is no added value to the location. 

We were a group of 9 travelling to the Bach Festival - and this is a consensus opinion of all of us.

Staff does not smile or greet at any time. This is not a language issue, as our entire group was bilingual.  Further, we are all frequent travellers and even in Asia, where the hotel maids or kitchen staff don't speak English, they will smile and say the local equivalent of 'hello'.  Not here.

In the breakfast room you are expected to clean your dishes up after yourself. The selection of foodstuffs is totally basic, bread is a failure as is the coffee.   If the coffee machine lacks milk or the grounds need to be removed, you will have to wait until the kitchen staff decides to leave their lair and come out and check.  There will be no aknowledgement that you needed to wait, i.e. "sorry, I didn't realize the machine stopped functioning". There is no restaurant.

There is no water in the room (imagine waking at 02:00 and being thirsty).  There is no A/C and I doubt the tiny fan would do much.  As mentioned the clothes closet is IKEA and there are no drawers to place your belongings into.   The one (and only one) outlet in the room is hidden behind a table which you will need to move to access the outlet to charge your phone or laptop.  

As for the bathroom - how do I count the ways....  There is no bathmat.  The soap for the shower is a single serving (imagine a ketchup container from a takeout) of a soap/shampoo.  What happens if you want to take two showers?  No conditioner or body lotion.  

The shower stall is totally inaccessible to anyone with mobility issues as the entry is 20 inches (narrow) and one needs to raise one's foot 20 inches off the ground. Similarly, the elevator is so small (both size and entry) that there is NO possibility for an individual with a walker to enter (best not speak about wheelchair bound individuals).  

If you locate the parking (as mentioned in another review it is hard to locate) the passage from the parking lot to the hotel reception desk involves 4 steps up, a narrow platform and three steps down, with no handrail.  Again, individuals with mobility issues would have a problem maneuvering this.  There is no one avaialable to help with luggage if an individual needs or wishes it.   

The bed has a mattress set inside a wide frame, and set very close to the floor.  Again, for individuals with mobility issues, a major problem.  Members of our group also noted that the mattresses were truly uncomfortable and led to back pain (and this in a 32 year old!!!). 

 If I were ranking this establishment for travellers with mobility issues, I would give it a negative rating.  

There are other hotels in the area and within walking distance of the market square...  



How to Manage to Fail Despite a Great Location

I don't even know where to start. The only good thing is, it's near City. Otherwise, a room that was dirty, broken towels and blankets, shower very small and poor lighting. Breakfast a guilt, chicken labbry, not cutting bread with knives, jam only once. Tables are not cleaned and are filled only on demand.

Not recommended

Very centrally located hotel and parking lots behind the hotel. The rooms are spacious, so the bathroom is rather small. For a person of normal weight, it's perfectly fine, but I can imagine that it can be quite narrow for larger people. The rooms are rather bright-eyed, but fortunately the other hotel guests were quiet at night. The ladies at the reception were friendly and otherwise everything was fine.

Located in the centre

I visited the best hotels, the room was a hallway with no water, Ikea closet with no air conditioning, bad sound and locked door smell, it'll be in the middle, but it's not right, I'm not going back.

Unfortunately, it's my turn.

The hotel is very close to the beautiful centre of Swidnica. For us as business travellers arriving late, it was very unfavorable that there was no restaurant in the house. Especially since on a Tuesday evening almost the entire old town was closed. The hotel is renovated, but unfortunately it has not kept the old fashioned flair. The shower cells are uncomfortable and also too small for normal people. The staff is very nice. You should publish the address for the parking space, otherwise it will be uncomfortable for strangers. There is a lack of overall comfort. The breakfast was good.

Great location.

Very good quality price ratio. A little old but flawless rooms. A very chic dining room a little old-fashioned. Generous and tasty traditional dishes. People with little care. Perfect location in the city center.

Very warm

I spend a week a year in this facility in August for a short holiday in Poland. I have a well-maintained hotel, very spacious rooms with all the amenities. Breakfast at a buffet mainly in English. Wifi works well and is free.

Nice hotel downtown

Hotel is rather old fashioned - I think it remembers communists times. It's located in the old town, just a few steps from the main square (which is really beautiful). The hotel staff is nice and helpfull. I only ate breakfast there - which was rather simple and not recommendable. The elevator is as old as the hotel, I guess.

My room was also old fashioned - old furnitures, old tv-set, old bathroom. A room of my grandmother ;-). Fortunatelly I spent there only 1 night during business trip. But the price was also good enough - so if you don't mind the room, you'll be satisfied.

Plus for location - and that's all

I decided to stay in hotel Piast with my girl-firend. Hotel is located in the center of Świdnica, very close to pubs ,restaurants , shops. Room was always clean, food excellent. Breakfast was very , very goodStaff was helpful and nice. I recommend this hotel to everyone.

Great time

If you ever have to go to the Witness, I recommend staying right here...in this hotel...it doesn't matter how you wake up in the morning, but you'll realize that the fairy tale is right next to you...it's in these houses, windows and cliffs on the bridge and even in this smell of humidity and triangular menus in the local restaurants.The rooms are spacious and high ceilings, and the view from the window doesn't crumble!The city center is nearby and morning coffee smells just right for you even if you're a spy from the Middle East.
