On booking in, the owner/manager demanded, yes, demanded cash only. When I asked for a receipt after payment, the "fatura" was for 6% more - I can't think why!! We had an evening meal there, and old woman who was the waitress was rude, who kept shouting "dinheiro, dinheiro" at me, when i asked to pay by card. Horrible woman. The man came out explaining that his card machine was broken. It would have helped if he had turned it on instead of pretending it didn't work. The only good side, was the young lady who served breakfast, she was lovely and polite. This place is only one step above Fawlty Towers.

We had a lovely time at this hotel.The lady was so nice and friendly We felt we had known her for ages and not meeting for the first time.She gave us the choice between 2 rooms.The rooms were comfortable and clean.The beds were very comfortable.
We decided to have our dinner in the restaurant in the evening.It was very good and not expensive.Breakfast was good too.The waiter was very nice and helpful.

Lovely friendly lady

Location is good, easy walking distance to historic area. Owner is really sweet and all the staff we met were friendly and helpful. The room was quite small, bathroom comparatively large, all very clean. We had dinner in the restaurant - was good value for 10 euros, fresh fruit salad for dessert was delicious.  Breakfast was included and was good - fresh rolls,  butter, ham, cheese and melon with orange juice and plenty of milk and coffee. Good value for money. 

Great little hotel

Friendly helpful owner, room was clean and tidy. Basic but absolutely fine for our needs. Breakfast was fresh plums, bread and jam. Excellent central location for exploring the city centre on foot, and free parking.

Met all our needs

All the staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and adequately supplied. The hotel is on a quiet street, about 6 blocks from the bus station, a short walk. It is a few blocks to the main plaza. Museums and sites in walking distance.

In Braganca to learn about local history and culture, especially mask traditions

Service sets this apart.  We arrived mid afternoon by motorbike on a hot afternoon.  Our room was not quite ready so we were ushered into the dining room and provided water, bread, cheese, fresh cherries and more whilst we waited for the room.  Surprisingly at checkout there was no charge for these. 
There was no available parking outside so we had left our bikes on a hatched area expecting to move them once checked in.  Local police came by issuing tickets to the cars - but put head into the hotel and just requested we move.   Hotel owner then directed us to their secure parking area just round the corner.  

Location is ideal for central old town.  

Cannot fault the stay, would def use again.

We stayed one night and the staff were going above and beyond to make our stay comfortable- we asked for additional pillows, a quiet room and a room with a bathtub.

The rooms are not huge, but functional for sleeping. The bed was comfortable and there was enough bedding/quilt/ blankets available to us. The room had AC and heat capability with remote control.

The restaurant was serving typical Portuguese cuisine and was reasonably prices- 2 of us ate well and had 1.5 bottles of wine over the course of dinner and dessert and coffee- cost us euro 38 total. We had chestnut pudding- courtesy of the staff as it was a seasonal specialty.

The hotel was non smoking.

Secure parking was available for the car a block away and the car park was locked overnight for security. Some of the parking is available under cover.

Breakfast was served as early as 0715, so we were able to check out and be on our way.

The Residential is close to the castle and museum. The room had a small balcony and the bathroom also had a small window that opened for fresh air.
