First impressions weren't the best as we had to wait nearly 30 minutes by the reception because nobody was there to greet the customers. 

We sent a message through booking.com and called both hotel contacts: one of them was disconnected and the other ringed for several minutes in front of us to no avail. We were only able to check-in after 30 minutes because we went searching for someone deep in the restaurant's kitchen next door! 

We got the first room next to the reception which meant we could hear the phone ringing, other than that comfortable and spacious room. 

Breakfast next morning was great. Check-out went smoothly.

First impressions

A lovely hotel in a beautiful setting sadly the last week of May is not a good time to go.  The pool and gym were closed as the season starts 1st June.   There was limited staff so service was restricted.  Only 1 spoke English which was disappointing as their trip advisor page said clearly "we speak your language" the local town had a music festival on so that was audible till about 4am.  No food was available on Sunday evening as the kitchen was closed.  On the Saturday night I found a wedge of glass in my meal.  It had chipped off the plate.  I had to ask them to take it off the bill.  The staff were friendly and helpful but thin on the ground.  Hugo' was excellent but he can't do everything on his own.  Overall a quality place worth a visit but our experience was very disappointing.

Too early in the season

i booked a room by phone here in June, after staying there a hand full of times, and in my trip there didnt notice they called at 23:45h, i got to the hotel at 00:25h and the hotel was closed, nobody answered the phone and nobody called back. had to get another hotel witch cost me na amount of Money of late check in and only suits available for their bad service and lack of professionalisme. stay away from here.
by the hotel himself rooms are very simple, the breakfast is very poor, empolyees take you the food out of the buffet 1 minute before closing time, cleaning is not very good and wifi doesnt get in all the rooms.

We attended a wedding. You could not wish for a more beautiful setting. It was breathtaking. 
The four of us  ( 2 adults and 2 kids ) stayed in a two bed bungalow which was very spacious, with 2 bathrooms and a sitting area.
The pool is lovely with some shaded areas. The only negative is that if you arrive outside meal times they cannot even get you a snack ! 
The food at the wedding was fantastic and far too much .
Limited English spoken so take your phrase book !
Internet hit and miss.
We would like to go back.

Beautiful setting

This was a very pleasant experience and find. We came upon it by chance. Rooms are of a high standard. the staff very helpful. The food served in the restaurant is of a high standard and the Sunday lunch was wonderful and popular.

Wonderful restaurant,amazing value for money,great food,good wine.Excellent staff very accommodating!Beautiful rooms and challis.I will never stay anywhere else when in the area this hotel is the best in Chavez,on this trip I stayed in various other accommodations all of which more expensive,and not in the same league!
Can't wait to go back,infact I'm already planning my next visit!(despite the 7hr drive!)....worth it!
